The gelato I noticed was very fresh and had a large selection of flavors. It seems like a neighborhood spot, inside was packed and outside people were sitting and enjoying their gelato. I'm staying in Baltimore for the week and after dinner I walked to Pitango Gelato for dessert. There are lots of fruit flavored but I was craving their hazelnut gelato made with imported Piedmontese hazelnuts. Heavenly! Those ladies scooped me up something that's free of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives. I mean, grass fed cows are providing the organic milk for this Baltimore staple. Then, last weekend, my friend and I stopped in for an Italian ice. They have 22 flavors (and 9 specialty combos) to choose from and friendly customer service. (They also offer ice cream if that's what you're craving.) My friend and I enjoyed a water ice, which we took to go as we walked around Hampden. If water ice/Italian ice is your thing, Tia's is definitely worth a visit. We have several more hot weeks this summer, so stop by and try a water ice!
