Nice little cafe conveniently located across the street from the Renaissance hotel. It's kind of hidden but they have a sign outside to let you know you're in the right place. Breakfast ends at 11 and I walked in at 10:56am so I just made it. The lady behind the counter was VERY welcoming. Before I even ordered anything she thanked me for stopping in. I went ahead and ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant. It was a simple order but such a delicious sandwich. The croissant was fresh and flaky and the cheese was nicely melted into the egg. I had her add a little jelly to the sandwich too which really made it perfect. They have a pretty large menu full of soups, sandwiches, salads etc. Inside there are also plenty of snack and bakery items for purchase as well as a large variety of both fountain and bottled drinks. You can eat inside and there are plenty of tables to do so but I chose to take my sandwich back to my hotel. My total was just under $5 so I paid in cash. For card payments there is a $5+ limit if you want to avoid an extra charge. I would love to come back here again and try out some lunch. Very nice staff, good prices and good food. A win. read more

Great location just steps to the Inner Harbor and across from the Renaissance. Very nice people running the restaurant. Bagel was good. Nicely toasted with the perfect amount of cream cheese. Breakfast choices including pancakes. This place is known as a bul go GI or bi. I'm bop place, but they do a good breakfast and there isn't anything else in the blocks surrounding it. Will have to come back And try the lunch. read more

I was hungover this morning and need breakfast bad, I stumbled across this little gem. The place is spotless clean, staff if very friendly, menu is huge and priced right and food is made fresh in front of you while you wait. For lunch they have a arge variety of soups and Daily specials. For lunch today I got Soup and grilled cheese special for $7.99 which lacked Crab, almost just a veggie soup with a hint of crab but was still good. They tend to get busy at lunch time but they bank the orders out quick. I reccomend this place read more

Interesting place with very fast service and exceptionally accommodating staff. I just had some eggs and toast (not on the menu), but I'm really curious to try more. Korean bi bim-bap and their crab soup are very intriguing. Mostly take-out, so it was a good place to relax and enjoy my coffee. read more

Owners Don and Sue are real gems--friendly and hardworking. Their food is consistently good. They take pride in getting the orders out quickly even at lunch rush hour. They're lovely people. My only complaint about this place is I didn't find it sooner! A great spot for breakfast or lunch. The lady in charge of the kitchen is SO FRIENDLY it's hard not to leave smiling yourself. This place is my go-to for breakfast and a great option for lunch. The owners are some of the warmest people I have encountered in Baltimore. They are engaging, bright, and very efficient with the orders. Their breakfast sandwiches are full and fresh. The lunch specials have really great portions and are always delicious. A few co-workers and I stumbled onto this unassuming little place a few years ago when we went looking for a good and cheap place for breakfast, and I've been going to South St. Cafe for my breakfast sandwiches ever since. They use REAL EGGS (not that carton stuff) made to order, imagine that. They make their eggs so deliciously, folded into thin fluffy layers and cooked to perfection. Plus, they give you a substanstial portion to get through those pre-lunch hunger pangs. What a perfect start to the day. I always receive kind, courteous, and prompt service. I'm not giving it five stars because I've never eaten lunch there. Perhaps I'll give it a try and I will adjust my review accordingly. read more
