Yoghut is on to something. They have everything a typical froyo shop would have and more. They have froyo, fruit bowls, smoothies, milk tea with boba etc. I would highly recommend coming an hour or two after opening because the wait was a bit dramatic. It took about 45 minutes to get my Pitaya bowl, but I'd chalk it up to them making everything fresh. The fruit is definitely fresh and the Fruit base was alright. The atmosphere was very bright and I could tell that's a "usual" spot for USC students. Almost every customer came in looking like it was their go to breakfast spot, and they seem to attract a special customer group: messy hair buns, tank tops with short shorts, book bags etc. They also have a rewards program-- every 50 pts you get $5 off? Columbia, South Carolina is hot as hell for no damn reason and you have to walk up hills to get EVERYWHERE. I do not know how the locals do it all year around. Luckily Yoghut was there with their BOMB smoothies to keep me cool and hydrated. Throughout my two week buisness trip I stopped here frequently. Everyday the sweetest girl (I wish I remembered her name) listened to what I was in the mood more and made me up something new everyday. My favorites flavors were the Berry Pineapple and the 7 Islands. Mixed with a spoonful of green tea poweder suppliment, those smoothies made me feel like I could take on an 9 hour day as well as the steep hills and hot ass weather of Columbia SC. I wasn't too big a fan of their frozen yogurt when I tried it but it seemed to be very popular amongst the locals. Today I ordered the Blue Da Ba Dee bowl, blue spirulina (pretty antioxidants and anti-inflammatory), pineapple, mango, banana, coconut, honey (add cocoa nibs and thank me later). I ordered online on Yelp and when I went to pick it up, they said they didn't get an order even though on the Yelp app it said they confirmed my order and prepared it and they still charged me for the online order. On a mission to try the best bubble teas in Columbia, I came across Corner blend. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised that they also had smoothie bowls... so I got both. The pistachio bubble tea was perfectly blended. It had tons of flavor and wasn't too watery. I added lychee popping pearls and tapioca pearls. They give you a hefty portion of both. Only complaint was the tapioca pearls were a little too chewy but still good. Or my smoothie bowl I got a blue s blend w/ chia, granola, Nutella, honey, strawberries, and bananas. I was shocked at how big the portions of the toppings were. They currently have the inside seating closed because of COVID but there is a gorgeous backdrop for photos with friends. Went in today abt an hour prior to closing. Right away the girl behind the counter had horrible attitude. Not even greeting us but just telling us to use the QR code if we were ordering. My sis and I had two separate orders so I used my phone and put my order in for "Julie" The website was not working too well on her phone so she went to the counter and asked her if she could see if her order went through or not, all she said was "if you want me to take you're order it'll be a few minutes." Still with the most horrible attitude. I told my sis I will put her order in on my phone. During this time, I get my order. The girl clearly yells out "order for Julie" and hands it to me. Fast fwd abt 25 mins and my sis still doesn't have her order. We see several people come in, order, get their bowls, and leave. Finally I get up and ask her if my order is close to being ready. Even though she had just called my name out a few mins ago she still asked the name of my order and she walks to the fridge and grabs it out of there. The bowl was ready long before I asked for it so I asked her if she did not see me sitting here waiting for it. She said I had to let her know I was there. I looked at her and told her you literally cld my name out for my first order. She said yeah well you used the QR code for the first one. I said I used the QR for the 2nd one too then she said OK in a very dismissive way. When you are selling a product that is not cheap at all I suggest you have workers that make your customers feel welcomed and appreciated. I got a bowl and they charged me $5 just to substitute a topping and after they admitted that they were in the wrong, they didn't do anything about it and wouldn't give me a refund until I had to ask them multipule times. On top of that they upped their bowl prices, plus made their toppings 50 cents each when before you could get 5 free toppings and their bowls are smaller, also most of the bowl is toppings, barely any smoothie whatsoever. Absolutely not worth $13. Also their customer service is just not good. They barely tried to help me with my issue and would just stand their and not do anything when I was expressing my confusion and concern. I was craving donuts but decided some fresh Fro Yo would be a better option. This was my first time eating here and I was pleased from the moment I walked in. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. They have to come from behind the counters to give all samples (this is a serve yourself type of place), but once I selected my Fro Yo flavors I was set. You sanitize your hands, take your cup and choose your Fro Yo flavor. Next you add whatever toppings you like. This gives you the chance to add as much or as little as you like, as they charge you based on weight. I believe it's $0.39 an oz. If you need a lid you'll have to request it. The interior was nice and clean, but the best part of this place has got to be their hours. They're open until 11p Mon-Sat and until 10p on Sun. You can pretty much satisfy your Fro Yo craving at any time. read more
