Methodical's a great coffee shop, and it brings a nice dose of personality to the Bull Street District. I loved the Oriental-themed coffee glasses, as well as the modern, yet still "chill" ambiance of the shop. I also liked how they had a window where you could see some of the employees making their pastries, as well as their many seating options. They had a coffee bar, a downstairs seating area, and an upstairs seating area. Their black coffee was really good, and finally, they made a really good latte! All-in-all, I really liked Methodical, will be back in the future, and would recommend it to anyone as a great coffee option! read more

This was such a cute cute place. Oh my goodness beautiful created. Their coffee is very good. It's not too acidic either. They offer a variety of options. The staff is super friendly and they can tell you what may be the best drink for you if you ask. They have plenty of room to study and have a small study session or meet up if you need. They bring the coffee right to you. Whether you are sitting downstairs or upstairs. This is an establishment in Columbia you def want to check out. Also get the chocolate chip cookies. Methodical has everything I'm look for in a coffee shop - an inviting interior, spacious seating, good treats, and of course the coffee. Upon entering you place your order and, assuming you stay in to enjoy your drink, find a table where your drink will come to you. Everything was well prepared - the biscuit and apple butter was a pleasant surprise: a wonderful play of texture with crisp exterior and fluffy interior, and an apple butter that fully embraced the fall - and the Vermont latte which had a lovely amount of salt to offset the sweet maple undertones. Two drinks and the biscuit cost around $20 which felt right given the service and quality. I look forward to visiting again soon. read more

Great location, classic menu, best banana bread I've had in a minute. Truly, get it! My flat white was a little bitter, I thought it was going to be smoother but maybe it was that roast. I've been here a few times since they've opened and let's just say I'm already a fan. In the great location of Bull St., District. Parking is quick and accessible in the garages. I love this coffee shop because it has a sense rustic, outdoorsy, vibes meets chic, and cozy coffee shop. The service is always immaculate even though they've always been busy at each visit. There's plenty of seating upstairs and down additional city rooms as well. Coming soon. The bakery will open up with lots of pastry options and I cannot wait. On my first visit I got a Tres Leche iced coffee and it was very very good but the one that stole my heart is the Vermont. It's a maple flavored coffee with sea salt on top it's definitely a 10 out of 10 and has been crowned my coffee of the winter! read more

Very cute coffee shop in Columbia near campus. I tried their seasonal latte called Vermont with nutmeg, black salt and other spices. It was like a warm hug on a cold winter night. Absolutely thrilled to have methodical join the columbia coffee scene. The bull street/fireflies area is really developing into a fun community and I think the location is perfect. The workers were kind and I appreciated them helping me select coffee beans to take home. I got a pour over (not pictured) which was perfectly brewed and gave me a perfect kick of energy to make it thorough a long day at work. I would like to preface this review by saying that I intentionally looked up new coffee places to try in Columbia instead of going to my usual place or just having it at home so please bear that in mind. I seen that this place just opened and they were having their soft opening, so I decided to give it a try. Trying to get to the actual shop was a bit annoying, but with the help of someone else I made it to it because there's a lot of construction going on around it. You will have to find parking a little ways off from the actual building. Once I was inside, the decor was nice. It was modern and had two levels for seating. They had a lot of merchandise and apparel for purchase. I was able to get a table to myself immediately when I walked in. The menu is straightforward not extensive, and they also offered some baked goods and pastry options. I ordered a regular filtered coffee; light roast, and I purchased the biscuit that came with butter and their seasonal jam, which was apple, I will start by saying that I was not a fan of the coffee. It didn't wow me and honestly it's not something I would purchase again. As far as the biscuit is concerned, it was on the larger side; square shaped which I did appreciate but do I think it was worth $5.50? I do not. I understand inflation and the cost of things but to me personally I just think that was unreasonable. & 8.30 for a regular coffee and biscuit.... Crazy. The staff was friendly and kind and the customer service was good overall. I just don't think that I will be back. I do, however, recommend giving them a try to support and see if you like it. read more

I drove an hour to try this out and it did not disappoint! Many coffee shops don't have good pastry/baked goods. Methodical does! I had two mocha lattes and the crumb cake. Both were fantastic. Ambiance is perfect. The staff is super friendly. Looking forward to going back! read more
