Is ok as a downtown resident as downtown indy region largely lacks in thai cuisine (other than bodhi). Concept had ton of potential but falls short.

The brisket was tender, flavorful, and exactly what good barbecue should be, and the pulled pork was just as impressive. Even the sides were spot-on. I lived in Texas for 30 years, so I have pretty high standards when it comes to barbecue. I can confidently say City Barbeque would hold its own in Texas -- and I'd put this meal up against what you'd find at plenty of Texas barbecue joints any day. I also have to mention the gentleman who brought our order out to the car. It was raining, but he was incredibly friendly, conscientious, and made sure everything was taken care of. That kind of service makes a great meal even better. Excellent food, excellent service, and an excellent experience from start to finish. City Barbeque continues to deliver. They also have lunch (salad and stuff) to grab on the go. Turns out the owner also owns a Paleo shop ... which explains some of the menu. Being from the West Coast, I love this but it might not be for everyone. Service was fast and friendly. Glad to see they donate a portion of their proceeds back into the community. Interior is a little institutional - lots of plastic and no cushions - but not enough to knock it down a star. This place is a little out of the way for most folks, but I'll be by from time to time, chatting with the friendly folks and grabbing something good. You should absolutely check it out.
