Just had a small closet install by Penmarc Inspired Spaces via The Container Store. Although the date I wanted was reschedule two days before, the rescheduled date was only a minor inconvenience. The install took less than 2 hours and it was definitely worth it to be able to have efficient storage. read more

Are you traveling? The Container Store has an half aisle travel section, pictured. Air travel rules are always changing on carry-on and checked. The Container Store has all the 3oz liquid containers and other travel organizer products. I purchased a travel bath and personal care organizer and small liquid, gel, or lotion containers for my trip. BTW, 1oz meets many needs. The staff was helpful on navigating the store and updates on new product deliveries. The store has many things you want right now to do household organizing and might not want to wait for delivery from other sources. Strike while the organizing iron is hot! In Bridgeport Village, people are competitive on surface parking when the parking garage is often very easy. read more

If like me, you are an organization goddess, neat freak, borderline OCD, then The Container Store is your happy place! Love perusing the aisles from one end of the store to the other, looking at every shelf regardless if I need an item. It's inspirational to find new and clever ways to keep your stuff neat and contained. If you want to personalize your office space and make it fun, they have paperclips with tassels and pom-poms, some shaped like cats or monkeys; erasers disguised and packaged like French macaron; pushpins, journals and file holders in every imaginable shade. Whether you want pops of bright neon, primary or soothing neutral colors, they have storage baskets, containers and boxes in every color. Same with food storage containers which also come in a plethora of sizes, shapes and "systems." The wrapping paper, ribbon and gift bag aisle always catches my attention because I love patterns, textures and color. I believe the package should be as exciting as the gift it contains. They definitely have beautiful options especially during the holidays, but I just can't spent $7.99+ per roll! So I walk through to get ideas but purchase my gift wrap at HomeGoods or the Dollar Tree. The impulse area before the cashiers is a must, even just to see what new items are being made to deplete our wallets a few dollars at a time! Customer service is always helpful and friendly. Lots of parking out front and super clean bathrooms inside the store. Always a fun experience and most often, I find what I need or get inspired. read more

This is really cool store that one can spend hours there. They have all kinds of storage containers, organizers, clever space saving ideas, garage organizers, etc... Everyone there tend to e helpful and accommodating. They also have design services for custom closets and custom garage shelving. I especially liked the small knick nacks rusty that one does not need but thinks that the one needs. The prices are on the spendy side though. read more

For being the only container store in Oregon you'd think the experience would be special like the very first time shopping at IKEA and stuffing your face full of Swedish meatballs. Well at container there's a great selection of items. I browsed all the shelves to see what organizational inspiration I could tap into. glad to see the Marie Kondo /Kon Mari (art of tidying up) branded items on display. The items in the container store can get redundant with all the clear storage boxes. There was even a 3 tier rolling cart that's identical to an item I found at Michaels craft store. The 3 stars are for service. Product selection and ease of finding items can be improved. No employees greeted me or offered any product knowledge. The store wasn't that busy. Cashier wasn't well trained at all and almost messed up the transaction. read more

Amazing staff and customer service at this store. I came in on the last afternoon of the Elfa sale and was so relieved that the Sales associate Melissa at the Bridgeport Store took the time to create my specs for my closet on the spot. I was completed with my order in less than an hour. I hadn't realized the sale was ending that day but was so relieved that they stopped what they were doing to make sure my order was placed during the last few hours of the sale. The Container Store really messed up our order. Why do you ask, would I give 4 stars to a place that messed up so badly, because as badly as they messed up they made an honest effort to make things right. We ordered a custom garage with our desinger Chelsea who we met in the store. Chelsea said if we decide to confirm the order just call and speak to whoever answers the phone and they can assist me the rest of the way. I did have major concearns with this process, as I knew it was not going to be as simple as providing a credit card. Upon calling and placing the order I spoke with Regan. I must admit she rathered confused with the numerous steps to get everything confirmed, delivered and installed. My gut told me, I should have verified the following day with our desinger to make sure all was as should be. Time got the best of me, and I did not. I was told the installers were to arrive Sunday at 3pm, and items would be pick-up that morning. This is where it all went sideways. My Dolly deliver guy Kevin arrived (who was a super star), told me when he tried to pick up my order they would not give it to him until after 3pm. This made no sense, as the installers were supposed to come at 3pm, so I called to find out what was going on. I spoke with Regan again who admitted she royally messed up on scheduling my delivery and instalation. She apologized multi times for her mistake and said she would reschedule instalitation and delivery. Sadly we had to wait nearly another week. Due to the inconenvience she said she would refund our instaliation charge. At the time I am writing this, I have not seen a refund, but I know this can take some time. if it does not happen with the next week, I might have to downgrade the star rating. read more

went in to buy labels. first I was told they were "over there" then I was taken to a rack of not the labels I was looking for. then I was told "I don't know what to tell you lady, this is what we have" when I asked why i found them fine online and just want to buy the labels. they told me they were "online only" so I looked them up, put on a bra and drove 40 minutes for something that was online only? yea no. so I walked to the front of the store to get the bars to look it up and it said there were 24 dozen in store. so I asked a person to look them up and tell me where they are located. she told me she needed the sku. so unhelpful, not demure not mindful. i finally got the labels and learned to shop somewhere else, anywhere else in the future. at every opportunity they made it a horrible adversarial experience and the manager actually told me "if you really looked them up at home then you should have bought them then" I've done 4 closets and a pantry with tcs and the labels were a finishing touch to my craft space but I'll be moving forward without them. read more

To say I like to organize is a huge understatement. I am absolutely an 'everything in its place' kind of girl. So you would think The Container Store would be my favorite place in the world, but that would be an overstatement. While I like to have everything squared away with slightly less than military precision, I also have the thrifty gene. And I'm always struck by the pricing here. While the vast array of supplies are wonderful and at times overwhelming, things aren't cheap here. I guess I wonder why it has to be so expensive to be organized? It kind of makes we wish I also had the crafty gene to make these items myself. So my trips to the Container Store offer all sorts of inspiration and ideas, but at least half of my organizing purchases are made elsewhere (Target, Fred Meyer, etc.). Without a specific plan of action (a list) I also find myself wandering the aisles in a sort of daze because there is just too much cool stuff. Like anything that touches on our personal blend of insanity, my exposure should probably be limited. read more

I normally love The Container Store, but I believe the Customer Service is slipping. I am not sure if it's caused by COVID-19 or not. I want to be understanding of the situation so would like to offer productive criticism. The biggest reason I purchase here is for the custom Elka shelving. I love being able to customize and put things together in my own space. However, it seems the last few times has been like pulling teeth to get them to cut the shelves for me. It's either no one is available, someone is on break or whatever the case may be. My perspective from a customer standpoint is that if these services are offered, shouldn't there be enough staff to handle it?? If not, perhaps they should indicate that their "Cutting Services" run at specific times in which case customers aren't left hanging if they have driven a distance away. I think the specific time slots would at least make for less grumpy customers and our expectations won't be so high. Oh and I don't understand why there is always a lack of ventilated shelves on the floor to purchase? However, when you inquire at the desk it happens they are upstairs? Shouldn't someone be stocking these?? This has been the case on four occasions in two weeks. read more

They sell their closet install service as a complex install that takes a construction company to install over a couple of days. So what really happens, is one (1) guy shows up for 6 hours, they do a fine job, and you will be charged over $3000.00 for the install. So if you are thinking of having them install the closet system for you, be prepared to pay $500.00 per hour. It is nothing you can't do yourself. read more

I went here about a month ago out of curiosity and also looking for a specific container for my lipstick collection. I did find what I needed (in the discount area no less!) but I also saw a lot of sparse areas with little product. I'm going to chuck this to COVID. Attendants were nice and checkout was pretty fast. I signed up for their reward program and got another discount to use in future merch. I need to go back and exchange one of the collectible containers as I fudged up the measurements (I measured in metric - sorry Imperial, I grew up with metric and can't think in inches ) - overall a good experience. read more

Most items are priced very reasonably but watch it - some things can get pricey. I love wandering through even for inspiration - sometimes I discover organization options for things I would have never even thought of. Christmas time is pretty fun here as well - they have a pretty fabulous gift wrap selection that is pretty unique for those items you want to wrap super special. They also have a great stocking stuffer section they set up each year - some items are pretty pricey but most are things you will not find elsewhere. read more

I'm pretty much always going to fall in love with a store completely given over to helping you organize stuff and put it away where it can stay clean and be out of sight. This store has absolutely everything imaginable to help you organize, label, access, and categorize pretty much anything in your house. This makes me so happy. I can't actually say I bought anything, and to be perfectly honest I didn't even look that closely at the prices. But they seem to have everything, and the place is positively gargantuan, just going on and on for seemingly an entire block. Great store. read more

I love the idea of this store. Very, very smart. Especially when there are organizing freaks in the world like myself. However, I almost died of sticker shock. $6.99 for a tiny paper bow? That's a food cart meal somewhere, dammit. $45 for a lunchbox? It WAS a bitchin' lunchbox. But it didn't even come with a waterbottle. And I wondered where you put the icepack(s). I also wanted a tea organizer for all of my packets of tea. But it was $34.99. Eek! When I get rich, I will probably stop complaining. I love this place! Particularly this location. Its inviting, clean, organized, well managed store. What sets apart is the staffs. Taylor was amazing, super friendly and helpful. I was remodeling my closet and pantry and the design team Chelsea and Ellen so patiently navigated me with choices and options. You can tell these employees love working for this company and were trained well. The manager Kirsten was also amazing, she was very kind not only to customers but also to her staffs. I was there a couple times for the project and spent good amount of time to notice. I had quite big orders so John took my stuffs to the car. Not only this store has great selections and up to date simplicity design to organize your stuffs but the service is above and beyond. Good price too for what you get. Because of this experience they will get my business forever. Plus nothing like this store, very unique. So if you are looking to organize your home or office, come to this place! read more

I had never heard of this store before and have now been there twice in one week! They have so many great options for storage, I was like a kid in a candy store. Both times, the associates were extremely cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable. They knew where every item I was looking for was without checking their computer. I was amazed as you don't see that combo of talents in people these days. At checkout, they also solved an issue I was having with using a coupon I was offered when signing up for their rewards. I will definitely be back for more stuff in the future. The lack of a 5th star is only due to location, I wish there was one closer. I will make the drive though as I am a fan of seeing things setup to test, buying it on the spot and being a consumer of any place that isn't Amazon. Need a container? You'll probably find it here. Today is the first day I failed at this, though. There's a surprisingly limited selection of Tupperware sets. Here's the thing: yes, there's a lot of cool containers here and that's nifty. You can buy all of them somewhere else for a lot less money. Having said that, it is fun to come and look at stuff while waiting for a movie to start or on my way back to my car. I will say that during the holidays, there's an excellent selection of wrapping supplies: gift boxes and bags of all sizes and varieties and an excellent selection of holiday wrapping paper. This places becomes necessary in December. read more

I worked with an elfa designer to reuse components of our old closet. I put in the order about three weeks early because of backorders and to take advantage of the sale. When the items came I discovered that the facia for the drawers was missing. I called the store and was told oh we're sorry that wasn't included in the order and the sale ended yesterday. No other help other than a recommendation to buy online since the fascia is now back ordered. This was after waiting weeks to get a quote for an elfa installation --- decided to give up waiting and just install it myself. Poor service for an overpriced product. read more

"It's so easy to install, a two year old can do it". So as I'm struggling to mount the main bracket to our new highfalutin closet system, all I can picture in my head is a room full of snotty nosed, precocious knee high tots, pointing and laughing at me and my inability to master this simple infantile task. Then they start throwing play dough. All I'm saying is that the installation process wasn't as simple as Bob, our "closet designer" made it out to be. Well, unless the two year old he was referring to is a laboratory created mash up of Bob Villa and that carpenter dude from Jerusalem. Now I've never been what you would consider a "handy man" (unless you count every other Thursday night's bedroom role playing session..."I'm here to check your plumbing, Miss TLB"), but I think I should be able to hold my own amongst the non reading, glue eating type when it comes to simple manual tasks. So despite a little initial frustration, the required "project" temper tantrum, and a slew of curse words that I'm sure no 2 year old could ever hope to recreate, I managed to get it installed. And all it took was about 6 hours of weekend warrior fun, a case of beer and several moments of severe two year old envy. What makes my initial installation difficulty even worse, is that upon picking up the closet system, I was treated to a 10 to 15 minute "How To" course on how to install it. It was taught by a talking embryo. Yet when all was cursed and done, we are now the proud parents of a kick ass master bedroom closet, complete with multi level areas to hang clothing, storage shelves and built in sliding drawers. (Personal note: Am I really getting excited about a closet? Is this really what my domestication has come to? There's no debauchery to be had in personal organization...what happened to the chaos?) I. Love. The. Container. Store. Sure it's expensive. Sure it's a store that essentially sells things to contain crap (in the non-literal sense). But still, it's one of my happy places. The first time I went to a Container Store was a couple years ago. My friend and I had to drive over an hour from Santa Cruz to San Jose. I needed one thing. She needed two. We left the store loaded down with bags and our wallets much, much lighter than we had entered. Last week I happened across this Container Store. I just moved into a sizable apartment with four (yes, 4) walk in closets. I knew I needed to organize now to save time and headaches later. Notice the word need, it had already began. I walked in to the store and grabbed a shelf off the shelf in two second flat. Oh no! I could tell that this visit would not be friendly on the bank account. I steered my cart through the store like a NASCAR driver circling the track. I NEEDED a shelf for my cabinet, I NEEDED overpriced hangers, I NEEDED food storage containers, I NEEDED bins for my largest of walk in closets....wait, I really did need that. To think of it, I need more of those. So I left the Container Store with four bags. I left at the Container Store over $200. Here's the thing, and why I love the place: I can justify every single purchase. In the end, it WILL make my life easier. Sure it's an investment, and sure some things (like hangers) can be found cheaper other places, but I'm already using my containers and I'm happy with every purchase I made. I'm sure to be back there sooner rather than later for those bins I need...hopefully I'll only leave with them. Of course, at the Container Store, who knows? read more

Growing up we used to play this game called "Clean your room and get $5.00!" Not a very creative title, but does it really matter when there's ca$h-money involved? The answer is, of course, no. So after my room was shining more than a diamond in the sun I'd skip across the house looking for payment for a job well done. Dad, in a way that only a father could, would saunter down the hall and peer in, smiling and handing me a roll of quarters. "Well it looks excellent Jennifer Anne!" And then he'd sit on my bed, look me dead in the eyes and say that for each item he found that was shoved under the bed, or thrown the closet, or stuffed in a drawer I'd have to give him one quarter back. We never finished that game without me in the red about $2.50. To this day I've found a consistent need to organize all of my personal effects and I've found a friend in the Container Store. Because let's be honest. None of us have an open closet that consists solely of 3 pairs of shoes, 2 pairs of slacks on oak hangars, and 4 neatly folded crimson cashmere sweaters. We have outdated fancy pants. We have junk. We have those Christmas jumpers that our aunts insist on us wearing to the holiday party every year. And we need a place to hide them all. In these hallowed walls await shelving, desk cubes, closet organizers, and kitchen tools made of varying amounts of mesh, plastic, and wood to mix and match with each other creating a custom system that fits your needs without sacrificing looks. Go in knowing what you'd like to see improved, and then browse the well lit aisles and ask for help or ideas when you need it. While you might want a rack for your CDs, you may find a really cool hanging wall system that would have never imagined was your style. The possibilities are endless here. Things are expensive like whoa. But durable as well, so it's best to pick one area of your place that you want to tidy up per trip so the price blow isn't as hard. Doing so you're likely to see the instant results of a really snazzy looking home or office. And then you too can wonder, "Hey Pa, where's my five bucks now?" read more

There are few places where I actually get dangerous: shoe stores, Michael's Arts & Crafts, Powell's Books, any place anthropological or arty, and places full of nonsensical contraptions for organization. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), the Container Store fits perfectly into the latter. An enormous high-ceilinged plastic paradise. And they don't just stop at under-the-bed Tupperware. No, no, my darlings. Think hundreds of options for your closet...hangers of every color and shape...drawer organizers...things to put pasta in. I'm not ashamed to admit that I fell in love with a personal valet stand yesterday that was ON SALE for $169. And my leather arrivederci luggage tag? I'm smitten. If a trash can with a flip lid isn't for you, check out the array of butterfly-opening lids instead. They even had two different options of stand-alone hanger organizers (which was actually the reason why we went out there in the first place). My advice to you: Come here with a budget. Things are so expensive here, that you're liable to tip the pocketbook scales with two items. But those two items could make your life just a little bit more fabulous! read more

Whenever I walk into The Container Store,my eyes light up with excitement, like a child on Christmas morning. I realize to the average Joe-Schmo this is merely a store full of containers and accessories, but to a person with OCD tendencies, this is truly a place of Zen! Accumulating all of my visits, I will admit to spending many, MANY hours wandering around this store discovering a plethora of containers, shelves and various other swanky gadgets that I don't need. This environment has a way of hindering my ability to decipher between wants and needs, leading me to justify buying things like: hanging shelves, mesh containers, desk organizers, CD and DVD holders, drawer dividers and photo boxes to happily spruce up my belongings! No matter how large or small your decorating/organizing project is, there is bound to be something in the store to accommodate your needs. If you are stumped and need some ideas, there are plenty of friendly employees willing to offer up some suggestions and help you out with queries or concerns along the way. Thankfully, like in my case, they are also pretty good at picking up on non-verbal cues that communicate "I've got this!" and will kindly step out of your line of vision. As a tip, if you want to avoid the crazy Amandas of the world or are trying to budget yourself, their website is pretty handy. After waiting 3 months for the re-opening to get my appointment. I went in the store with a full face shield nobody said anything to me. I proceeded to go back to the design area where I had an appointment. I was treated like I had the plague everybody jumped 10 feet from me and said you have to wear a mask . I said I have a face shield they said you cannot shop here or maybe you could go stand outside and we could talk out there ? I said IN THE SMOKE! I have never been treated so badly embarrassed and humiliated there's a right way to ask someone to do something and there's a wrong way I'll never go back there I'd rather pay double the price anywhere else read more

You have just recently moved...or maybe you moved about 10 years ago. And yet...you still have a ton of crap in boxes. Or maybe there is crap just stuffed into a closet or that "3rd bedroom" you haven't gotten around to using properly. Or maybe the garage still has those makeshift shelves full of crap. Whatever the reason, you have crap lying around, but it's not stuff you can get rid of. I know, you are not a hoarder. You actually use the stuff, but you haven't had the time. Well, get your ass over to the Container Store. They have whatever you need to organize your crap and put it in a more presentable nature...and it doesn't smell like old cardboard. Boxes represent a lack of permanence, a way to set aside stuff you may need in a very sloth-like manner. Quit it. Just go to the Container Store. Trust me, they have it...recycling bins, high performance garbage cans, plastic doo-dads with lids to keep your xmas stuff stored in the garage/attic. Who knows? After you start putting things in containers, you may just realize that the 10Mb hub isn't really worth keeping anymore. Yay cleanliness and organization! And no more musty cardboard smell in the office! Now you just need to find a bed to actually utilize that third bedroom. read more

Ellen helped me with the Elfa closet system, explaining to me how the different parts worked with each other and what parts I would need for my existing system with the solution I was looking for (I wanted gliding drawers). I could tell that Ellen is a exceptional employee deserving of recognition because she was professional, helpful, friendly, and made me feel valued as a customer despite me not necessarily making a large purchase. She even signed me up for a rewards card despite me initially saying no, so that I would have a coupon for my next purchase. Good looking out. I have shopped at TCS a number of times, and they uniformly seem to have good product. The prices are definitely high. The big issue is staff. There are a couple of other posts here that talk about being in the store for a long time and no one is remotely interested in helping. I have had to "track down" employees to get them to help me. On a couple of different occasions , I have placed orders , only to be told the employee "got distracted " and simply forgot to fill it. The process at checkout is disorganized ,as there are two different lines. If you bet right, you win! If you bet wrong , people who got in line ahead of you get checked out minutes ahead of you. I have had checkout personnel literally turn out their light as I approached ,and just ignore me and pretend they didn't hear. These are not insurmountable problems, but for a store devoted to organization and attention to detail, it speaks poorly. I come back for the product - not the service. read more

We all know The Container Store is fabulous but still a chain. Specific to this location, the customer service here is top notch! There is always someone available to help me (even during the dreaded but ever-so-amazing Elfa Sale days!) and with a genuine smile. I never feel pestered and they always seem to find what I need...and if they can't, they are quick to brainstorm new solutions. My husband and I have fallen in love with Elfa. Worth every penny, especially if you shop during the aforementioned sale (in January!). We've outfitted many a closet and garage with these stuff and are so grateful for its invention.
