This place is a gift to anyone that has taken Spanish in school and yet never learned it. After 4…read moreyears of Spanish in high school and not absorbing any of it, I was skeptical that I could be taught. My instructor taught us so much, and broke it down into lessons that made the transition so much easier that I'm not only learning Spanish, but I'm enjoying understanding the how's and the why's of the language. All classes are very small (usually no more than 8) which makes it easy to learn, grow, and laugh with each other. I never felt that I couldn't make a mistake or ask a question. The homework is minimal and doesn't usually take more than an hour a week. (Though it's good to make vocab flash cards as you go and keep practicing). Wonderful teachers, quick responces to emails and phone calls.

They are very affordable compared to others, and they have great native speakers for teachers. I have had 3 teachers for different levels, and some others as substitutes. And all their teachers are dynamic and energetic and PATIENT! Especially good for me, because I memorize vocabulary v e r y s l o w l y. The classes are no larger than 8 people so you get really personal attention compared to the universities and colleges. Our class has been studying together for several months and we are now all friends and have attended foreign films together around town and we sometimes bring in snacks for celebrations or special occasions like birthdays etc. I have attended their social celebrations like Day of the Dead and Mexican Independence Day and feel like its a great little community and family at Tierra.

I called the owner to kindly explain what I saw as the issue. She undestood, took responsibility for the problem and delivered some flowers herself that were ones I wanted. I found Flowers in the Alley while researching florists & after seeing their other reviews I figured I'd give them a shot. Please. If you're trying to find a florist, if you're like me and reading reviews trying to narrow down who to go to, CHOOSE FLOWERS IN THE ALLEY. My mom is not a classic rose type of lady, she doesn't even care much for cut flowers and prefers ones she can plant, but having something delivered to her to let her know I was thinking of her was so important to me and Flower in the Alley did not disappoint. My mom LOVES her arrangement. I am writing this review two weeks after Mother's Day and her flowers still look incredible. Thank you Flowers in the Alley for delivering the freshest and most beautiful bouquet my mom has ever received. You helped her feel my love from 926 miles away, and nothing beats that.

Stay away from Salem Tutoring Center!…read more The facility is understaffed, extremely unprofessional, disorganized, and often do not answer phone calls for an entire week. They don't apologize or even acknowledge this, and are both quite curt and rude. The office is very shabby and run down, like a free clinic, and every corner is bursting with clutter and chaos. It is not a calming environment for children to focus, it is a scattered, bustling, tense flurry, run by two people who have no interpersonal skills whatsoever. It's almost as if the Salem Tutoring Center could have been a used car lot three months ago. Things are placed randomly, there is no ambiance, and there isn't one quiet area that would be conducive to learning. The person who administers tests is known to forget or lose entire portions, only realizing it days later, which delays the entire process, and you cannot get a phone call returned no matter how urgent. It does not seem like this is the business these people wanted to be in, but just fell into it. The tutoring I observed was lukewarm, and the child(ren) were talked at, and never responded as though they had learned. They just left when their time was over. I would have nothing to do with the Salem Tutoring Center for any reason. I urge parents to explore tutoring through local high schools, Chemeketa Community College, or private high school students. If you set foot inside, you would see exactly what I've referenced.
