You order at the counter. We each had a scone and the special breakfast wrap. The scones were really good. Mine was still warm, which means it had recently come out of the oven. Our breakfast wraps were quite good and filling. We each had coffee. And by the time we were finished, we were quite full. The staff was very friendly as was everyone in the small place.

The coffee was so rich and satisfying, BUT THE BAGEL. Omg, the quality of that bagel was beyond description. Freshly made, the egg was a fresh cracked one and the bacon done perfect and savory. The veg cream cheese that is used tasted just made as well. the gentleman making it was so sweet and the lady who took my order was wonderful. First - it is super cute. With a mix of community tables, counter seating, and even one very cozy looking chair (I say looking because it was occupied and I was unable to plunk myself down and enjoy my book - which it was beckoning me to do). They have an extensive coffee menu and use their own roasted beans. I went with a standard coffee but did upgrade to maple syrup for my sweetener. (Anyone who knows me knows this alone won me over!) And, if you eat in - your coffee comes in a beautiful real mug! They have decent bakery case which is stocked with pastries from Two Fat Cats and bagels from Rose Foods! That's right - you can get a Rose Food bagel without the hassle of parking on Forest Ave in Portland. I got the Mystery Spice (old bay seasoning) and enjoyed half with Olive Cream Cheese and the other with Herbed. Clearly they make the cream cheeses here in house and they are delicious. Sure, Amazon has it too and all that but I figured it made a good excuse to come out to Freeport and get HP sauce and maybe a couple other things. Tea drinkers and jelly lovers will have quite a time here. The shop is quite small and very much a gift shop. A bit peculiar to have in Freeport, Maine, maybe... but nevertheless there were a lot of worthless trinkets that could have easily been purchased. But I limited myself to just three items. They bake close to 10,000 whoopie pies a day which are then distributed to their Freeport store, retailers, and customers across the country. My personal favorites are the chocolate chip and peanut butter, but everything I've tried has been delicious! love the oversized portions! They are larger than the size of your hand. The store itself adds to the experience, and it's obvious that a lot of care goes into both the product and the presentation. Always a treat when I get my hands on them!

When we walked in you could tell there was a mix of locals and a few tourists and we were immediately greeted like we were one of the locals. It's fairly small with a bunch of tables but it wasn't tight where you couldn't get around. Our server that's been there for 30 years was outstanding and had a great personality. The coffee was decent, and I don't usually like the coffee at diners and restaurants. I had the french toast special made with croissants and it was really tasty. They were not soggy and the side of bacon was nice and crispy. Wife and kids enjoyed their respective omelette and regular French toast. It wasn't anything fancy, perhaps you could even say it was plain but it was prepared well and came out hot/fresh.
