What a gem that is hidden in the underworld of the maze we like to call Freeport outlets!…read more My wife an I come here to get refills on all kinds of olive oils and vinegars and with the small pots that house all of these little containers of goodness it is a gold mine to creativity and deliciousness. Here are a couple of the fun tips and pointers about this little place: - You can taste test any of the mixed oils/vinegars that you want with little tasting cups and small spickets to pour the taste into it. You can mix grapefruit and sunflower and get a tasty topping for a green salad or throw in some apricot vinegar and then you really can go salad wild. - Once you partake in one of the bottles of dressing/oil you can bring the bottle back in to refil at a discounted price and get your card stamped to earn rewards then they reseal the bottle with a gold foil top. - The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and so welcoming to those that might not know what to do in an oil/vinegar shoppe. My wife and I recommend you totally stop in here to try the goods for your flavor extravaganza!! But remember you have to look for it because it is hidden on the lower floor from all the hubub of Oakley/ Lids / Coach/ LL Bean area.

I see no way a wheelchair can get down here. And the way people stared while I slowly made my way down the stairs (forgot my cane) as if they had absolutely zero concept of someone having trouble with stairs or being less than fully-abled made me feel like a freakshow. Too bad because once downstairs everyone there was really nice and I really like their concept: taste anything they have, get bottles filled to order, come back and refill your bottle for a discount. They even have a frequent buyer club (not sure if it's a stamp card or what). It reminds me of the oil and vinegar tasting barrels at Local's Market in SF, or the self-serve honeys and oils at Winco (24-hour, employee-owned supermarket chain in California), only the entire store is dedicated to fancy oils and balsamic vinegars.

First off- pro tip- Always get their signature Scotch Kisses! Get more than one and thank me later. Scotch Kisses are their homemade caramel wrapped around a soft marshmallow. Holy moly. The best!! I bought one and will now dream of this candy confection for months to come. I need to check if they ship these! Wilbur's wide variety of candy is housed on their second floor. Head upstairs. They had just started decorating for Halloween and you could not pick a better spot to find in the month of October. Candy + Halloween = Perfection. I stocked up on some Halloween themed candy and even found some Pumpkin Pie Jelly Bellies there! Woah, First time trying them and yum. I found my classic rock candy there too. I am more of a sugar candy fan than chocolate guy, so the upstairs was like a dream come true. I even found a pack of Fruit Stripes gum! Classic. I can't believe the bag of candy that I walked out with for under $20. Support local and frequent Wilbur's. The next time I am in Maine, I will most definitely be back! P.S. I found them using the Yelp app and I couldn't be happier.

Lindt is located slightly off Main Street in the Freeport Village Center…read more We entered in the front which is an ice cream shop and walked through to the back for candy. As I entered I heard, does anyone want a sample, why yes I do! There were over 20 different flavors from dark chocolate to raspberry to coconut in bins in the middle of the store. I picked one of most flavors. I love how creamy Lindt chocolates are. They weigh your purchase at the register, it is $23 per pound. There were many other types of packaged chocolates. For a gift or a treat for yourself I recommend stopping in to the Lindt chocolate shop.

I am kidding, but joking aside this location has quite an array of Lindt truffle flavors and an assortment of individual bars to choose from. They also have a coffee bar where you can indulge in specialty coffee drinks (or lattes, however you want to define them) which include flavoring from some of their famous chocolates. Prices are comparable to other retail locations that carry their chocolates and this store tends to offer large quantity discounts if you get into the 75-150 piece range.I believe we walked out with 150+ for around $45 during one of their specials. I counted 150 when putting them into the box, but when the lady at the counter weighed it, she told me to add about 18 more and then she rang me up. I won't complain if they are asking me to add more items and still charge me the same. The store layout is a bit small, so it's difficult to navigate the truffle area due to its proximity to the checkout counter. You are always having to say excuse me because the line always extends into the one area where you are selecting your chocolates. They always offer each person a sample from their sample of the day chocolate.
