I have it all written out, so we know where we'll be going. Kind of like... when in Rome, do as the Romans do. For me, I need to know ahead of time what that'll be, so we can do them. Such was the case with Wilbur's of Maine Chocolates. Don't remember now where I read about this place, but some blogger mentioned them with high praise, so on my list this place went. We made a point to stop by Wilbur's on our way to Boothbay Harbor (also in Maine for those who don't know), and we are so glad we did. This is primarily a candy shop... but it is so much more. They have other food items, home decor, gift items, and of course, lots of chocolate. We bought a couple of stuffed animals for our grandchildren, as well as some flavored sauces in a jar (to be poured over ice cream), and we couldn't leave without buying some chocolates ! We tried some chocolate-dipped orange rind and a few truffle flavors as well. Everything was very fresh and tasty. If I'm ever fortunate enough to be in Maine again, I'm sure we will stop here again.

They continue to expand, to offer local Maine products, both food and textiles - it's a great place to go for buying gifts for people. Some of my favorites are shown in the pictures - I love anything maple and their maple malt balls are my absolute favorite! I love their chocolate covered products, pretzels, cherries, peanuts, raisins and blueberries and so much more. They sell Sweet Monkey Business shortbread cookies on occassion - they are the best in Maine for packaged cookies. The owner is very kind as well. This year (2025) my favorite purchase was the Candy Cottage kit! So cute and creative and it smells so much better than gingerbread. I loved it. Great for gift giving as well. Parking is great and there is an car charging spot as well if you are lucky enough to snag the spot. Not a super charger, but it's something. I hope to be able to participate in a special event sometime. They offer tours, and candy making events, like make your own candy cane. With that said, I highly recommend. Stop on by, you might see me shopping LOL

There are two floors, don't forget to check out both. Downstairs is the big window Jelly beally mascot in the window. The store is very crowded, as it's smaller and when there are a ton of people, it can being tricky to maneuver especially if you are looking to browse and if you have young visitors with you. The service, was ok. They were super busy and I'm sure it was stressful for them. One thing that caught me and my family off guard was the abrupt way our transaction was completed. The person was literally aggressively snatching the items to scan and jamming them into the bag. Once done, she pushed the bag towards us and yelled "next" to the customers behind us, I still thanked her and wished her a good day. It was not acknowledged....It felt odd and very cold compared to our experiences we have had at the factory store. Definitely prefer the other location and the customer service there. Again, it could have been because they were busy ...but it didn't set right with us, especially my little niece, who is 4 yrs old, who picked up on the vibe. I would have given the store 5 stars if it wasn't for that interaction. Still love their candy, especially the maple malt balls.

Along with the full line of chocolate offerings from Lindt, the also sell discontinued items at a significant mark down. What I like is the sold their factory seconds of their chocolates. What they were selling at my visit was a white chocolate filled Lindor balls. These were considered rejects because of cosmetic reason: pattern on the balls very irregular, balls not perfectly round, some dents, etc. Sold bulk unwrapped in large plastic balls. Had samples of them, and hey, still taste the same, just not perfectly round. Who cares, taste all the same one inside my mouth. They also sold some wrapped Lindor balls in bulk as well. I bought a pound of the wrapped dark chocolate Lindor balls for $5.00. Great deal considering that normally they are $0.50 retail, and a pound contains about 40 balls (do the math!). Worth carrying with me back on the plane. Should have bought more, because my coworkers ate most of them.

I have been eating this brand of popcorn for more than a year and buying it from resellers. I was happy, but was always curious about the other flavors but nervous to commit to a back of something I might not like...and I found a brick and mortar store :) I have been in here a couple of times and the staff has been welcoming, friendly and proactive to assist tastes buds of all levels of enthusiasm. I typically know what I want to buy, but if they are offering free samples, how can I say no! I don't want to hurt their feelings afterall. The most adventurous flavor I have sampled is maple siracha. I am a fan of maple flavor and a fan of siracha. Combined? I'm not sure, I might have to try again...it definitely left a little after burn - nice spicy heat. My go to flavors, Maine Maple, Parmesan Garlic, and white cheddar. I love that I can different sized bags at this location and they bag it on demand. For some reason it just tastes more fresh than when I purchase from a reseller. I also love that they give you a wire wrap to keep the bag closed IF and I mean IF in the event you don't eat the bag at once. This is now the only popcorn I buy and I highly recommend it. Please stop by this location in the area, taste allllll the flavors and chat with the friendly staff. If you love popcorn, you'll love this place.

I visit about every 2 weeks to get my dad a quarter pounder and 1 time I opted for an iced coffee. The entire reason I'm writing this review is because whoever made the coffee that day NAILED it. I don't like DD, SBux is okay but McDonald's iced coffee, when made correctly, hits! They usually ask me to pull into a spot so they can make the quarter pounder fresh. Despite feeling like I have to wait a bit, I know it's for good reason. One time they didn't include fries in the bag so now I check when they bring the order out. The inside has a lot of seats but the menu on the self serve screens is presented differently than the drive-thru and I actually could not find a regular quarter pounder and ended up ordering a version with lettuce and tomato on accident.
