First off- pro tip- Always get their signature Scotch Kisses! Get more than one and thank me later. Scotch Kisses are their homemade caramel wrapped around a soft marshmallow. Holy moly. The best!! I bought one and will now dream of this candy confection for months to come. I need to check if they ship these! Wilbur's wide variety of candy is housed on their second floor. Head upstairs. They had just started decorating for Halloween and you could not pick a better spot to find in the month of October. Candy + Halloween = Perfection. I stocked up on some Halloween themed candy and even found some Pumpkin Pie Jelly Bellies there! Woah, First time trying them and yum. I found my classic rock candy there too. I am more of a sugar candy fan than chocolate guy, so the upstairs was like a dream come true. I even found a pack of Fruit Stripes gum! Classic. I can't believe the bag of candy that I walked out with for under $20. Support local and frequent Wilbur's. The next time I am in Maine, I will most definitely be back! P.S. Along with the full line of chocolate offerings from Lindt, the also sell discontinued items at a significant mark down. What I like is the sold their factory seconds of their chocolates. What they were selling at my visit was a white chocolate filled Lindor balls. These were considered rejects because of cosmetic reason: pattern on the balls very irregular, balls not perfectly round, some dents, etc. Sold bulk unwrapped in large plastic balls. Had samples of them, and hey, still taste the same, just not perfectly round. Who cares, taste all the same one inside my mouth. They also sold some wrapped Lindor balls in bulk as well. I bought a pound of the wrapped dark chocolate Lindor balls for $5.00. Great deal considering that normally they are $0.50 retail, and a pound contains about 40 balls (do the math!). Worth carrying with me back on the plane. Should have bought more, because my coworkers ate most of them.

They bake close to 10,000 whoopie pies a day which are then distributed to their Freeport store, retailers, and customers across the country. My personal favorites are the chocolate chip and peanut butter, but everything I've tried has been delicious! love the oversized portions! They are larger than the size of your hand. The store itself adds to the experience, and it's obvious that a lot of care goes into both the product and the presentation. Always a treat when I get my hands on them!

I typically know what I want to buy, but if they are offering free samples, how can I say no! I don't want to hurt their feelings afterall. The most adventurous flavor I have sampled is maple siracha. I am a fan of maple flavor and a fan of siracha. Combined? I'm not sure, I might have to try again...it definitely left a little after burn - nice spicy heat. My go to flavors, Maine Maple, Parmesan Garlic, and white cheddar. I love that I can different sized bags at this location and they bag it on demand. For some reason it just tastes more fresh than when I purchase from a reseller. I also love that they give you a wire wrap to keep the bag closed IF and I mean IF in the event you don't eat the bag at once. This is now the only popcorn I buy and I highly recommend it. You order at the counter. We each had a scone and the special breakfast wrap. The scones were really good. Mine was still warm, which means it had recently come out of the oven. Our breakfast wraps were quite good and filling. We each had coffee. And by the time we were finished, we were quite full. The staff was very friendly as was everyone in the small place.

Instead, you'll find them shooting the shit tucked in the corner snacking on deli meats and cheeses. After multiple minutes waiting, One will come and ask if you've been helped because it's not obvious enough that I'm standing there alone, staring at them and no one has lifted a finger. This deli has to be the penalty box for Bow St workers because they all act like they're in a cage waiting to be let out and want absolutely NOTHING to do with patrons. They'll literally let meat roll off the slicer into a bag that ultimately falls apart when trying to remove a slice. Today, I got home to find a half pound of turkey ends. These guys clearly intentionally try to ruin days. Owners, PAY ATTENTION. This is on YOU.

Sure, Amazon has it too and all that but I figured it made a good excuse to come out to Freeport and get HP sauce and maybe a couple other things. Tea drinkers and jelly lovers will have quite a time here. The shop is quite small and very much a gift shop. A bit peculiar to have in Freeport, Maine, maybe... but nevertheless there were a lot of worthless trinkets that could have easily been purchased. But I limited myself to just three items.
