Best brunch I had in Frisco…read more Butterhorn Bakery and Cafe is the highest-rated brunch spot in Frisco, and based on my experience, I'd agree with the hype. Of the couple of brunch spots I tried in town, this was my favorite. I ordered the Cornucopia with eggs over medium and substituted the home fries for fruit. The fruit was surprisingly good, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas with a light sprinkle of powdered sugar. A side of fruit can be pretty hit or miss when you substitute it at brunch, so I was pleasantly surprised. The eggs were cooked right, and the toast was fine. I opted for turkey bacon, though, and I'd recommend skipping it. It was pretty crispy and lacked much flavor. The standout was the cinnamon roll French toast. We ordered it to share with the table, and I highly recommend doing the same. It comes with two large cinnamon rolls that are soaked in egg batter and grilled French-toast style. It was top tier. I noticed several tables around us sharing the regular cinnamon roll as well, and those looked fantastic too. They also have a bakery counter inside with plenty of grab-and-go options. The pastries all looked great, along with fresh bread, cookies, and other sweet treats. If you're visiting Frisco and looking for brunch, Butterhorn is definitely worth a stop. And whatever you order, I'd make sure the cinnamon roll French toast makes it onto your table.

Country fried steak needs little more balance with batter that way we can taste more meat while enjoying the crunchy texture. we got to see our first now after driving from Denver so it was perfect to be out here today! Another Breckenridge gem!…read more If you are a lover of buttery pastries, fresh ingredients, and delicious baked goods, I would absolutely recommend stopping by La Française French Bakery. We were in a bit of a rush during our visit, so unfortunately, I didn't get pictures, but please work with me. :) The bakery itself is on the smaller side and very busy and quick paced, but does have seating available, and the staff was incredibly friendly. It feels like stepping into a bakery in a small town. I ordered the Spinach Goat Cheese Feuilleté and a Fruit Tart. Spinach Goat Cheese Feuilleté (8/10) - This was buttery, flaky, and delicious. The pastry practically melted in my mouth, and I really enjoyed the overall flavor. My only wish was that the goat cheese had been a bit more prominent, as I love the flavor it brings to a dish. Fruit Tart (10/10) - Delicious! The fruit was incredibly fresh, and the tart carried such a wonderful balance of flavors. Every bite was a treat. Overall, I really enjoyed our stop here. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I can certainly see us returning the next time we're in Breckenridge!

They tend to sell out early so if you want something try to go first thing in the morning. I've been coming here for at least 10 years and can honestly say I have never, not once, been disappointed with my food. It's walk up and if you order a sandwich, soup, salad...you find a place and get a buzzer to return and pick up your order. We love it here so much the pastry sometimes makes a plane ride back to LA! The staff is helpful and the service is quick. There aren't a lot of indoor places to sit but it's so worth it. Ambiance in the newish dinner section looks cute. We will be stopping back by soon. I highly recommend trying ALL your favorites.

THE PICKY B | COOL RIVER COFFEEHOUSE | BRECKENRIDGE, CO…read more You know I can't pass up an opportunity to try a cold brew with cold foam, especially when I'm exploring a new coffee spot! Cool River Coffeehouse in Breckenridge was my next stop, and when I heard their seasonal cold foam was pumpkin spice, I had to give it a try. I asked the guy behind the counter if it was good, and he confidently assured me it was. I told him, "I trust you!" And let me tell you... he did not disappoint! The cold foam was everything I look for: creamy, light, fluffy, with just the right amount of sweetness and a delicious hint of pumpkin spice. Not overpowering, not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced. Exactly how seasonal cold foam should be! THE FOOD: They also offer a food menu, and while I didn't order anything this time, I was definitely eyeing the dishes coming out to other tables. Everything looked fresh, delicious, and worth coming back to try! THE PICKY B RATING: 4/5 -- WOULD RETURN! A solid cold brew stop in Breckenridge, especially if you love a seasonal twist without all the unnecessary sweetness. Tell me: Are you team pumpkin spice or do you stick to classic cold foam year-round? #ThePickyB #CoolRiverCoffeehouse #BreckenridgeColorado #ColdBrewLover #ColoradoCoffee

Gilchrist Catering catered our small wedding at Marina Pointe pavilion…read more We met with the owner, Bill Gilchrist, and knew right away, we found our caterer. Although he has been in the business for a long time, we found he still has a passion for his work. He sat down with us, talked about the menu we chose, and gave us different options. We felt like we had many and were impressed with his flexibility. In addition to that, he made suggestions as to the amount of drinks to order, even though we were doing this part on our own. On the day of the event, Bill and his crew helped set up tables, as it was very windy. Being the pro he is, he brought out the duct tape to keep table clothes in place. This was so appreciated. I do need to mention, he allowed me to pick up table clothes ahead of time so we could set up a bit ahead of his arrival. The set up was beautiful. Right after the wedding, appetizers were passed, multiple times to make sure everyone had them. The were wonderful, crab stuffed mushrooms, grilled Prosciutto wrapped asparagus. There was also an antipasto tray set up. Bill made sure we were all in sync with serving.....apps, dinner, and cake cutting. We did an 8 inch cake with additional lemon, chocolate and raspberry bonbons. He mingled with guests, asking if they would like more, and if they enjoyed to food. The photographer was a friend of mine, and she said she didn't want dinner, so I didn't include her in the count, however Bill personally invited her to get dinner. I really thought this was lovely of him. Our guests loved the food, and we heard many compliments about the dinner. Both of the servers he brought with him, were smiling the whole time, pleasant and professional. Every email and question that I had was answered in a timely manner, his cost was reasonable, with absolutely no hidden costs, and we had no stress what so ever about the catering. I would highly recommend Gilchrist Catering.

Let me start by saying that Mountain Top Hot Cocoa was one of the more difficult places for us to…read moreactually get to try, but once we did, I could absolutely understand why there always seems to be a line. We attempted to visit three different days, and on two of those days, they closed early without any notice. As you can imagine, that was a little frustrating, especially when you're intentionally making the trip to try something. However, I will say that the trouble was worth the wait. The shop itself is small, so there isn't really an opportunity to sit inside and enjoy your hot cocoa, but there are plenty of places nearby where you can sit and enjoy your treat. There is also a cookie shop nearby that is quite good! Now, let's talk about the hot cocoa. It was thick, rich, and absolutely delicious. The whipped cream was also incredibly flavorful and complemented the richness of the chocolate perfectly. This is not your average cup of hot chocolate, and I certainly understand the appeal. I kept thinking about how delicious this would be while sitting on a balcony in the mountains, enjoying the scenery with a fresh donut or pastry to accompany it. It truly feels like the perfect treat for a mountain getaway. My four-star rating is exclusively because of the unpredictability of their hours during our visit. I would love to see a bit more consistency or communication around early closures. Otherwise, the hot chocolate itself was delicious, and I would absolutely enjoy it again.

Like others rushing in, I was super excited to go here and see if it's really as good as TikTok made it seem. Boy, was the excitement one sided. The guy working looked like he hated his life and maybe with all the hype he's tired of the tourist lmao. My fiancé got the regular hot chocolate and I did the smores. Both were good in their own right, VERY decadent. I wish the smores one gave more.. like a marshmallow rim, toasted perhaps? The shop is small, and the line gets long. There's a lot a nice cookie shop next door! Overall, it was good and perfect for a snowy day.
