Yes it is one of " those places " that survived the guilliani purge . While this is not my type of bar to be in , there is some action down in the basement . Sometimes the gogo dancers will be doing things on the bar to the point of questioning wether its legal or not . The establishment is very dimlit with strobing lights. Was very hard to see and walk. Very easy to have stolen belongings.Bathrooms were extremely dirty and were not maintained well. Drinks are on the expensive side and have extremely small portioned cocktaisl ( even for a gay bar ).There is a 10 dollar fee to get in , but that can be waived when you show up either between opening and 11 PM . If you like the 1980s gayscene and want to experience what it was like, then by all means go . If you are a normal LGBT person who just wants a drink and a chat , it is a no go. read more

We were the only ladies in the joint, but the bar tenders, staff and everyone else there were so welcoming. We made so many friends and had a very unique, but lovely evening. I used to visit this space with my girlfriends when it was Lit for the past 10 years. and I've been going to the old Cock for 10 years in it's former space. Two visits cannot convince me that this is the Cock. You can transplant my boyfriend's brain into a new body but until I hear him complaining about my habits, that muhfucka just a zombie. But the real reason why I'm not sold on this location is that there are certain criteria which made the Cock a very suitable house of ill repute. #1 It was dark enough so you felt a certain type of anonymity so if you brushed up against someone a little too close, your identity was protected from the light of shame you would otherwise inflict upon yourself. Also, for better or worse, everyone looks 10x better shrouded in shadows and clouds of vaporizing poppers, which is why everyone scattered like bugs under a rock when last call was announced. The new space, while still dark, is a few watts too bright to recreate that same safe haven. #2 The space should work by all accounts. Because what makes the Cock work is that when it's a good night you are forced to smash bodies with the other homosexuals because the space is smaller than a New York closet. That gives you the excuse to rub up against all the other depraved perverts without any introduction. This space, while narrow, is pretty long and too big to pack to the gills. About how the little stage area at the end is a lawsuit waiting to happen. About how my friend recently had his wallet stolen (which of course is nothing new). But what it really all comes down to is that it is simply not as thrilling, nor does it feel as subversive as it used to on second and second.
