I brought in a 1961 Centurion wind-up wall clock for cleaning and repair. Was told it would take a minimum of 7 months! At 7 months, I called to see if it was done and was told it had been done for a couple of months. I was never notified. My clock wasn't chiming properly and wasn't keeping time correctly. When I got it back, over a few weeks, it began to perform way worse than when I brought it in. Sometimes at 1:30, it would chime 7 times. At 10:00, it would chime 4 times, etc... The chimes varied wildly in volume. There was a scratchy, ticky sound when it chimed. It started losing and gaining minutes, even when it was wound properly. It evntually quit running altogether. I looked up possible at-home fixes and tried every last one of them. Nothing worked right. Once when I got it to run again, it lasted about 5 days and quit. I have not been able to get it to run again since. Since my clock was obviously damaged somehow while it was at this business, I would not, can not trust them again. Plus, I will not wait months for repair and have to pay for it all over again, when they never fixed it in the 1st place! And fact, they made it 10 times worse. This is a family owned clock since 1961 and it used to run perfect. Does anyone out there know of a clock repair place in Spokane or the Valley that knows what they're doing and can be trusted?? read more

So glad I brought my wall clock here. A young man named Otto took care of me and took such interest in my clock which really made me feel like he was going to care about fixing it and taking proper care of it. He was so informative, gave me some insight on its history and pointed out some facts about its beauty and creation that I would not have otherwise ever known. He pointed out that there was a bit of a wait to fix it (months possibly) but would see what he could do... Lo and behold I got a call in a few weeks saying it was all done! It works great now and I know it was in the best of hands. Everyone there is really cool, helpful and informative. What a blessing to have a gifted clock repair in Spokane. We had two Grandfather Clocks that were not keeping time or chiming well after our move to Spokane. I like the fact that they gave me a pretty good estimate on wgat the repair was going to cost. A little spendy, but for a hundred year old mechanism that has a lot of history to it, it is doable. The reason for only 4 stars, is the time it will take to finish the repair. About 3 months. It is understandable, there are only 2 clock repair shops in the whole city of Spokane. I took my grandmother's perfectly working antique mantle clock to the other shop in town a few years ago to be gone through and oiled, something I'd never had done in the 30 years I've owned it. Upon return, it no longer worked properly and its sound was no longer loud and booming but weak and anemic. I returned it several times but it never worked right again. I gave up and it sat quietly on a shelf for over a year. When my grandfather clock stopped working, I called the Clock House for mobile repair. Quan had it fixed in no time and on a whim I sent the mantle clock with him to see if he could do anything for it. Long story somewhat shorter, it now sits in its place of honor atop my antique player piano, keeping time perfectly once again and proudly announcing the quarter hour in a deep and resonating voice. IMO The Clock House is a great shop. I take my clocks there regularly for cleaning and as with any good horologist, there is a backlog. I can not believe how great these fellows were when my daughter and I took in my cuckoo clock. I bought it in on April 14th and my clock was finished by the 28. It has been 6 years since the clock stop working. He told me that it would be about a month and would give me a call when it was done. All that was wrong with it was that he needed to be cleaned and oil. Oh yes and the price was unbelievable, Cheap as far as I was concerned just to have my clock up and running again. We needed our ten-year old German grandfather clock serviced but were worried regarding the age and uniqueness of this piece exceeding either the local competence or our wallet's ability to support the repairs :-) Quon came out to our home within a week and repaired it on site. After spending almost ninety minutes repairing, he closed it up and I paid him about 60% of what I thought he would have required for a home call. Then - before leaving- he decided to listen to the clock in total silence ... sure enough, he detected one faint noise and completely dissembled the clock again and found a tiny piece that needed cleaning and lubrication. After another 35 minutes, he buttoned it back up and gave us a card and a note of gratitude. He spent more than two hours here and did not charge us by the hour nor by the job (as he did two entirely different repairs so it was two distinct jobs). That customer service only demands more customer loyalty! We took our cuckoo clock down later that week and delivered it to their office so his specialist could PM the cuckoo clock. I dropped off a mantle clock for a simple repair (the wire that held the pendulum had come loose), and was told it would be "a week or two" before it was fixed, and that it might need to be cleaned to run correctly. Eight weeks later I called and was told that the clock wasn't done. Two weeks after that, I was told that the clock had been put back together, but that it wouldn't run for any length of time, and needed to be cleaned. I decided to go pick the clock up without having anything else done to it (because it had been there for two-and-a-half months already). When I got to the shop, the clock was in exactly the same condition it was in when I had dropped it off, so the person I had talked to on the phone previously had lied about the clock not running correctly (since it was still in pieces). The person working in the shop did the repair while I waited (he wasn't the same person who was there when I dropped the clock off). The clock, coincidentally, doesn't keep time correctly. I'll take it somewhere else to find out the reason for that. I wouldn't go back into this shop to find out the time. read more

In the last six months, I've had several clocks repaired at The Clock House. The owner has even returned an antique wall clock to my home to be sure it was hung properly. Mr. Nguyen is an exceptional craftsman, and he provides clear instructions about clock care and maintenance. We are lucky to have a craftsman with such integrity and skill. So, I really missed them when they went away to The Clock House for repair. Quon did a beautiful job, even manufacturing a couple of parts that were not available for the grandfather clock.
