Worst cleaning experience we've ever had. They were friendly but so sloppy. We booked them for a 'deep clean' and they billed us as a 'deep clean' . After the clean, the baseboards were visibly dusty, my husband ran his hand over shelving and it came away with significant dust and stray hair in the cabinet. He actually called me to ask when the cleaners were coming because he thought they had not come. They didn't mop our bathroom floors bc they were still dusty. We called the contact at the company who was responsive and apologetic . They sent the cleaners back , but supervising them was like was like supervising a teenager who doesn't want to clean their room. In the end we didn't have energy and time to supervise the job so just let them finish and finished dusting ourselves. They gave us back 60 dollars . We had to reschedule an entire morning, drive 1.5 hours round trip, and watch them during the clean because we knew they did not do good work . Not worth 60 dollars. The whole point of going with professionals was to save us time and mental energy. In brief, just go with another company. Our usual cleaner who could not be available and does a better job with just her typical regular cleans. read more

We've been using the Clean Team for a year now. We keep giving them another chance but it's getting a bit too much to deal with. The staff who clean are nice. The cleaning is spotty. Some days, it is fairly thorough but they often ignore entire sections of rooms for weeks at a time. For example, simple things like wiping down the counter in the bathroom or the toilet lid, will be not be done until it's filthy and we have to write a note asking them specifically to clean it. Now, they've missed three different cleaning days with no notice. Usually it takes us 2-3 days to get a hold of someone, and no one will actually contact us to discuss rescheduling. They missed their appointment again today. Even after we had called them at 8am to confirm the team was heading to our house. I return after work, and again, the house is dirty and the team was a no-show. If you are desperate and don't mind bad service, they'll be fine. If you want consistency and good customer service, look elsewhere. read more

My roommates and I first started using The Clean Team's services in the middle of 2007. This was a few months after we had moved in together and it had become clear that we wouldn't get it together to clean the place ourselves. The trio of Tracy, Nelson and Calvin solved that problem for us admirably. The place is spotless every time they leave. They're highly reliable, professional, and organized, and fast as the speed of light. In over two years of using their service we've not had a single issue with them, and I can only recommend this to anyone, desiring to live in a spotless environment. And their rates are reasonable. While I enjoy the two guys that came to my house to clean very, very much, I can't recommend this company based on the poor customer service and awful communication from the office personal. I started with this company with a one-time deep cleaning which I was very pleased with. After the guys were here I mentioned to them I would be interested getting a quote or more information about a monthly service--though I was uncertain until I had more info--specifically the cost. No one called me back to discuss. Until two weeks later, I get a call indicating the guys were coming the next day--I had never even mentioned I was interested in a bi-weekly service! After working though that, I indicated I was interested in a monthly service and have tried that, but the communication never improved. I never understood the schedule--each time I asked, I got a difference answer, first monthly, then, every four weeks, then suddenly, I get a call indicating they are coming over after just three weeks. For 19 years my Castro apartment has stayed clean because of them. Continuity is excellent: if a team leader leaves, she or he shows the replacement the routine for my apartment. Their well-trained, highly motivated crew members are unshockable; I've never had staff dramas; they never miss a day; the bring their own equipment; their work is insured; and their taxes, workers comp etc are paid. I used them to clean my office, I gave it three chances and then had to stop using them. I don't know how I missed the other negative reviews but they are pretty spot on to my experience. It seemed too good to be true at first - the customer service started off great and the price quote was just what we were looking to pay. However, the cleaning wasn't very thorough. Our office is very simple - floors, rugs and dusting/surfaces. The surfaces and dusting never got done. Even though we asked. The floors looked ok but not great. Like I said, we gave it three chances. The communication also got really sparse - I had to send multiple emails to get replies and I've asked for receipts for the 3 cleanings we did for 4 months now with no response. read more

Maybe what they lack in customer service they make up for in cleaning? It'd have to be a lot. Having just moved into my condo, I needed a professional deep cleaning. Not only did it take them several days to get back to me but when they finally showed up to do an estimate, the owner proceeded to tell me that he didn't understand why they didn't clean it prior to my move in. All would be fine but he said this about ten times in the course of fifteen minutes- if they had cleaned it why would I even be calling you? Anyway on top of that, the person was incredibly rude and they never called me back to schedule a time. One of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I think I'll pay to go somewhere that my business would be appreciated. read more

I've been using the Clean Team for over six years and recently had a falling out. They were terrific for the first few years, but then spent less and less time on my apartment. I have an office in a back room and noticed in the last year that they were in and out in 15 minutes; they never even noticed I was there. But I noticed that they did not dust behind or under furniture, or on top of cabinets. Cobwebs gathered in the ceiling. The last straw was when I renovated my home and they arrived for the weekly cleaning. Bear in mind there was no furniture, and the place had new floors and new paint on the walls and wood trim. The only things that needed to be wiped down were the kitchen counters. Turns out the Clean Team saw "renovation" and demanded more money for far, far less work. read more

As a leasing agent, I've seen many properties after they've supposedly been cleaned but, clearly, it was not a professional cleaning. And I suppose if you have regular cleaners every couple weeks, you can choose the cheaper contractors. However, if you want a thorough cleaning that includes cleaning the oven and refrigerator and carpet cleaning, then The Clean Team is the way to go. They are amazing and absolutely irreplaceable. I found them on yelp and worked with Tara, the office manager, to schedule an appointment after having some work done to our house. We've been with them for over 2 years now. They clean weekly and it's pretty nice to come home to a spotless house. They also clean the frig and stove a few times a year as needed for an extra fee that is well worth it. Before coming across the clean team, we had a cleaning lady but she wasn't as reliable, e.g. if she got sick, or flexible in changing times or days. Now we'll just work with Tara to re-schedule appointments or arrange to have additional work done. The staff is reliable, polite and we feel absolutely comfortable with them. This is the one luxury I would not even consider cutting back on - eating out, shopping...maybe...but not this! read more

Had the clean team in for a spruce up of the apartment. Having tried Marvel Maids, Merry Maids, and all the others I was expecting the same level of cleaning. Wow was I positively surprised. We moved to San Francisco in summer 2010. We've been using Clean Team ever since. We did try another service at first. But Clean Team has been more reliable and thorough. They are not perfect, but they are responsive to suggestions. Simply put, we continue to use them and expect to continue using them. That's about the best endorsement you can make of any business, and we're pleased to share it. (I will add that if you come here from someplace else, sticker shock is a factor for just about everything. Clean Team isn't cheap. They are in line with other outfits in this city, though. These guys are dishonest liars and bad drivers. I was parallel parked in a 1 car spot with a driveway in front and behind me. The garage door was a good 15-20 feet from the curb. I was sitting in my car when I see a truck pull in behind me. As I watched him inch closer, I see the driver pull toward the steering wheel as to look over his hood. I get this gut feeling as something WILL happen....long and behold, BUMP!!!! I get out and look at my bumper and his. I looked 20 feet behind him and across the streeet. There were SEVERAL things this bad driver can do. 1) park 3 spaces back. 2) park across the street. 3) park in the driveway. 4) have his incompetant passenger get out and tell his sidekick when to stop. After the fact, the two passengers and the driver exit the vehicle. The driver says, " oh, im sorry, did i hit you?!" what kind of a dumb question is that? well, 1st, you were watching where you were going, 2nd you decided to put your vehicle in reverse when you cant go any further! All the dings in on my rear bumper were from idiots like these. The passengers proceed to accuse me of making false accusation. They asked me which of these dents did his driver put on my bumper? Well, unfortunately, when you refinish a part of the car, they dont only do 1 or 2 scratches...they redo the whole panel. So regardless of which scratch, the fact was he HIT my car while i was PARKED. The driver went on to apologize that this had ever happened. The funny thing is that I spoke to the manager who tells me not to go through his insurance due to high premiums. I thought I was doing him a favor...but when I told him my quote from 3 places was in the 800's and i would let him pay for the lower of the 3 estimates, he said "hell no, lets go through insurance...theres no way I am paying $800 for a scratch." And when the insurance claim comes through, the driver denies hitting my car!!! This is so infuriating!!!! Not only that he couldve avoided hitting my car 4 times, but now he is denying that anything happened. Even after apologizing, which means he acknowledges what has happened, he denies it later. If someone accused me of doing something i didnt do, I WILL NOT apologize and I WILL cus out the accuser. Bottom line: if these guys can be this insensitive and dishonest, I suggest everyone check their personal belongings before they leave your residence. p.s. dont give spare keys as they can be reproduced and sold to criminals....or the perfect disguise....."The Clean Bandits" read more

These folks cleaned my various apartments twice a month for at least five years, if not longer. If I still lived in SF or if they came to Oakland, I'd still be using them. Reliable, regular, trustworthy, friendly, easy to deal with, everything I could want in a regular service that I trust to come into my home and make me feel at home. Tara, who runs the office, is friendly and easy to work with. She makes the whole operation a breeze - which is kind of the point! It was a good team effort but I cannot recommend them for someone who is meticulous. My roommates and I have been in this apartment 2 years and we wanted a good solid 'reboot' to make it feel like new again. We clean regularly but we don't clean a lot of things we should (the oven, floors, baseboards, walls, etc etc). The process to getting them to come do the estimate and then clean was great and I have no complaints about them as a business. They're responsible and they lived up to the timeline they promised and they even came in at the low end of the estimate provided. 1.5 hours with two cleaners. The reason I can't recommend them is that their attention to detail is somewhat scattered. They did a fantastic job on degreasing the range hood but then there was an entire counter space left uncleaned (it had a big coffee stain and tons of food splatter). The walls in the kitchen were mostly unattended. One of the windows in the living room wasn't cleaned. The baseboards weren't touched at all. I know they mopped because it was wet but it wasn't thorough - a wet paper towel test showed that it was still filthy (it's a dark glazed concrete floor so dirt doesn't show, but I wanted it truly clean!). Overall, I think I got a lot of value for the money. However, I wish they had come in at the high end of the estimate instead and done all the other details. I did specifically ask for many of the details that weren't done (and some details that weren't done, I was told were 100% standard practice, like taking out the trash - they didn't do that). In the end I should have asked them to do more but they said they were done and asked for payment so I took them on their word and paid them so I could get back to work (I was here, working from home while they cleaned). Overall I would say that if you've got them coming in routinely it's probably a great way to save time and the prices seem reasonable. However, if you want everything really well cleaned in one go, this may not be a great choice. I spent 2 hours after work finishing off the job just because it was so close to being spotless I wanted to take it all the way. read more

My roommate and I called on the Clean Team to clean the apartment we were moving out of when we realized we were too tired from moving out "stuff" to have enough energy left to clean the place ourselves. They did a spectacular job! I truly believe the apartment was cleaner the day I left it than the day I took possession to move in! Most horrible experience with a cleaning company. Not only did they do a mediocre job cleaning our house for which they had to come a second time to re do, and it was still not cleaned well, but they also used our own cleaning supplies and left their trash on around our house (e.g., kitchen table). Their manager behaved quite rude against us as customers. This service is overpriced and their work is horrible. Just read their reviews, either they are horrible (probably real customers) or they are excellent (probably fake reviews). Strange that they get the best and the worst reviews at the same time. The people who came to my house were really nice, but they were a little late, charged $85/hour for the first clean, and the final product was totally inadequate and definitely NOT as promised. For these rates, I expect excellence and received less than mediocre. Moreover, I tried to foliow up with management and received no response. I keep forgetting to call them to compliment them. Chuck came right on time (I hate it when people keep me waiting; I'm busy) and wrote lots of notes about what needed to be done, what I wanted. I used to do all the cleaning myself but am falling apart physically and can no longer do a lot of this labor stuff (I'm turning into a princess!). The next day, the crew (can you call 2 people a crew?) came and conquered. Ok, there was no furniture in there, just an apartment that'd been empty for over a year accumulating dirt and dust and other things. They cleaned out all the cabinets (lots of them) and drawers. They sanitized the WC and the bathtub room better then I'd have been able to do it. They even cleaned up the outside front "porch" cause I got tired of cleaning up after the postman (he loves to drop his cig butts, rubberbands, things he doesn't want right there). All in prep for the new tenants to move it, which they can now do, with their new little baby, without worrying about dirt and crud, without having to first hose down the place. I am just so pleased. And Tara called to make sure I was happy with their work (left voicemail since I wasn't home)--gotta call her back (someone please remind me). If I ever get my own apartment cleared of 30 years of accumulated junk (not just mine, but stuff my dead relatives leave me--what do you do with their stuff? Feels unright to get rid of it but I hold no sentimental value for this stuff), I may have the team come in regularly to keep me clean (I'm getting old). They brought all their own supplies and equipment--which is a HUGE benefit to me since I don't have a car and hauling supplies/equipment is always an issue (but if you have specific supplies you want used or not used, you'd better tell them). I wish they did backyards too since my backyard is a jungle in dire need of help. read more

I hate to clean. I have so many other things to do than clean my apartment, yet I can't stand a dirty apartment. Voila, the Clean Team comes in every 2 weeks and allows me to live in bliss. I contacted them because I loved their book, "Speed Cleaning," which suggests you can do your own cleaning best, so it is not promoting their cleaning service. The Clean Team has the same positive, humanistic, and sincere energy of the book, which is what I'd hoped for. Tara, the coordinator in the office, is always friendly and accommodating. Joe and Jose, and sometimes another helper, rock my apartment. I can't get a second key to my security building, so I need to be here when they clean in order to let them in. They're always cheerful and kind, and I look forward to seeing them the way I would a friend visiting. Although I usually clean my own apartment, I was expecting guests from abroad, and wasn't feeling quite up to the task. I did some of the dusting and light work myself, then called The Clean Team. They scheduled a team to come over the next day. They vacuumed, cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, washed the kitchen and bathroom floors, vacuumed the upholstered couches and chairs, and left the place looking as if I had spent two full days on it. They did it in 45 minutes, charged me for 45 minutes, and were nice people, to boot. I will certainly use them again. read more

These guys are scam artist. I had them come doa deep cleaning and left fro an hour to do my grocey shopping. When i came back the house smelled awesome but when i touched the carpets they were completly dry! I checked everywhere, and founf one wet spot in the furthest corner of teh room where they started! They never cleaned my carpets just vaccumed. I called them 3 times adn they kept telling me they woudl have someone call me back and havent yet. I have spoked to a somone who knows of this company and come to find out this is what they do to people who arent home. Forunatel i came home with in an hour and founf that they never washed my carpets. Iwill continue to follow up with them scumbags to have my carpets properly cleaned! read more

Incredible. This is certainly the best experience I have ever had. Two men come to my home every other week. 1 1/2 hours later my home is impeccably clean and orderly. THEY JUST WORK from the moment they arrive. They do not talk, they just work in the most effective way and in the most complete way I could wish. The place is excellently spotless when they leave. They make my bed, steam clean the kitchen floor, polish my furniture, damp mop all my floors, oil my leather furniture, ETC. Really impeccable. They are quiet, respectful, thorough, and without any waste of time. Truly trustworthy. I can not recommend this organization sufficiently. I have always had cleaners, but have never had this level of efficient, and effective service. Again: impeccable. I am actually grateful for their service through these years. I cannot say enough about good things about The Clean Team and what an excellent job they do cleaning of my house. I always had one person taking care of my house and she is a lovely person. I never considered getting a cleaning service because I thought it would be too impersonal. I have had two different groups supplied by the Clean Team and both have been excellent. There are three men in the team I currently use. They are knowledgeable, strong, efficient and one is tall enough to reach all the places that had not been cleaned well for years. There is a willingness to do whatever I need, which varies from time to time. If I need them to switch days, they make every effort to help me out. My husband and 24 year old son frequently comment on how clean the house is. I can assure you, this has never happened before. In addition, they are very responsible and I never worry about the fragile or valuable things I have in the house. I also never have to worry about paying for their Social Security taxes because the company does that. read more
