Mause and Isabella have been cleaning my home for 7 years! And my place is no easy feat. It's an 8 bedroom, 5300 sq ft flat with 8+ people living there so it gets messy. Mause and/or his team comes in and cleans the heck out of the place! Whenever I have special instructions Mause is great about communicating it to his team and it always gets done. M&J cleaning came and cleaned our home on a short notice near the holiday and did and incredible job! We have 2 kids and 2 cats, and honestly the house was in need of a deep cleaning. Mause was easy to work with, communicative, and went out of his way to fit us into their busy holiday schedule. Onsite they came as scheduled. They we're courteous, honest, efficient and very professional. Most importantly they left our house sparkling. At the end they walked through the house with us to make sure we were happy. I was shocked they don't have all 5 star reviews, but then I saw it has to do with a Living Social thing. Anyone who actually uses these guys will walk away happy! They were not the cheapest quote over the phone so I almost went with someone else, but I am soooo glad we didn't. While I was eager to use their services, I was disappointed by their lack of ability to keep an appointment that was made weeks in advance. I bought a voucher from Dealfind. They failed to show up on 2 different occasions, and even scheduling a time was very difficult, with about 5 of my calls/messages going unanswered over the course of a few days - trying to schedule something. The most recent appointment, I called 5 minutes after the scheduled arrival time only to be told that they were running 20-25 minutes late due to traffic. The gentleman on the phone "Mouse" claimed that "it isn't his fault" after we asked why they hadn't simply call us in advance to notify us of this? We could not wait because we had to leave for work. When I told him that I was thinking of canceling the voucher - and generally about my disappointment in my experience with M&J, he advised me to "cancel the voucher." For the past three weeks I have been trying to book a cleaning. I have left messages and even spoke with the owner who said he would call me right back. That was five days ago and I'm still waiting. I checked HomeRun's website and read several similar stories of frustration about M&J. This company obviously does not have a client base (wonder why) so it relies on special offers on LivingSocial and other deal websites for business. I was hoping to help out a small, local company but this isn't working out. There are many other good, reputable cleaning services out there that offer deals and will actually return your call. I purchased a LivingSocial voucher for M and J cleaning. I called them to book an appointment and left a message. When I called to follow up, their voice mailbox was full. I decided to go to the website that was listed for M&J on the Livingsocial website, and the website was non existent (I got an error message.) From there, I called Livingsocial to complain. The Livingsocial people said that they woudl contact the cleaners on my behalf. After one week they were similarly unable to contact the cleaners, so they gave me a refund. Echoing what everyone else said: -Took an infinite amount of phone calls to finally get a hold of them -Their answering machine doesn't indicate that you've even contacted the right business and at times was full or non-functional -After finally getting my appointment scheduled, I too was told that my 3-hr service for $75 was actually only 1.5 hours for 1 person or 3 hrs for two people Re-read the original fine-print in the LivingSocial voucher, no such indication and have since submitted a complaint -Now to the cleaning - terrible work, I have several pictures (will try to upload them momentarily) showing the poor job they did, this is on top of my furniture being moved/left out of place and them also dropping my new electric toothbrush that I was charging into a dirty old box of good-will items that was next to it. -Last, my entire apartment smells terrible, almost as if they used recycled sewer water to clean everything. Ok - We have tried multiple cleaning services in the last 12 months. At least five. I had given up hope that anyone else was capable of meeting my standards (which are not extreme), and started questioning my own sanity. I found Mause on Angie's List. He responded immediately, and offered to come over to give me an estimate. At first, I thought he was a bit beyond my budget, which is less than the SF standard, I'm sure, but I thought I'd give it a shot as a last desperate attempt to find a decent service. I am so glad I did. We had an initial cleaning today, and the results blew me away! Nothing was out of place, nothing was broken, there wasn't a speck of dust anywhere. They couldn't repair the damage that the last cleaners did to our hardwood floors, but that's not on them at all. It feels like I cleaned the house myself, but it smells better. First off, I'll acknowledge it can be difficult to get a hold of Mause - so keep trying and show a bit of patience you will be rewarded! This is the 3rd-times-a-charm cleaning company I've hired in San Francisco. The other two did great at first, and then get lazy after they think they've got your regular business. Not M&J. They make this place sparkle. Every.Single.Time. And he's been cleaning our place for 5+ years. True story, the hubs walks through the door and into our kitchen and declares - I LOVE Mause! I have had the distinct pleasure of chatting with him one on one, and I can tell you will not find a more sincere, kind, decent man. He is good to his employees and they work hard for him. Nothing, and I mean not a single penny, has every gone missing after he or his crew are here. I can't say the same for the other two. My flat was in desperate need of cleaning. I had been looking for a cleaner that did a good job at a reasonable price. For a low income grad student the latter was essential. I had used cleaners that either really slow and expensive (taking 5 hours to clean), or unreliable (being late or not showing up). Eventually, I used a booking service called Cleanify and they set me up with Mause. Another cleaning company was actually supposed to come clean, but they cancelled and the booking service assigned Mause to me. I was REALLY worried about the cleaning based on the reviews on here. But, my experience so far with them has been very positive. The times I've booked them they have arrived on time. What really impressed me was that they cleaned the apartment to my liking with minimal direction. I did not have to go chasing after the cleaner telling them "you missed a spot". And OMG they were so fast. The whole cleaning took about an hour and it was done pretty well. I am very satisfied. read more

First of all, I think Mause is a very fair, industrious person. I was fortunate for a break in his schedule, and he was able to get to clean my house (Post-tenants) at the last minute. I appreciated this since my schedule was tight. He thought my job would only take him 2-3 hours, but he stayed for 4. He didn't charge me anything over his quoted price, but I was happy to tip him anyway. The place was spotless. Really great work, and he's an easy guy to work with. The relationship started off very good. I used Mause for years and really appreciated his hard work. However, I converted my apartment into a short term rental and that is where the problems began and continued between guests. I've received nothing but serious complaints about the level of cleaning, attention to detail, missing dirty spots that were overlooked, floors still being dirty even after they specifically cleaned it by hand. I believe his crew has gotten sloppy and lost their level of quality. I won't recommend them to any other potential clients and definitely no one who has their unit setup for short term rentals. Mause from M&J cleaning service is the absolute best in the business! I recently moved into an apartment that hadn't been 'truly cleaned' in years (my guess would be 10...). One visit from Mause and it was good as new! He got into every nook and cranny and left no stone un-turned. He is the friendliest, hardest working entrepreneur in the bay! Mause and his team do fantastic work, are extremely communicative, flexible and they're actually affordable unlike most bay area cleaners that jack up the price as the day goes on. I cant recommend M&J cleaning strong enough. My advice would be to stop reading reviews, pick up the phone and schedule some time with Mause before his schedule calendar completely books up! P.S- Ignore the negative reviews, they are all related to bad experiences with a 'Living Social' deal that was not Mause's fault and does not reflect the quality of his work. I got a LivingSocial coupon as a present, because I'd been thinking of getting a cleaning service. When I called to schedule an appointment they asked me if it was okay to send two people for an hour and half of cleaning instead of one person for three hours. My apartment being relatively small, I said yes. They didn't quite manage to get my entire apartment sparkling in that time frame, but they did better than I would have expected given the chaos they were presented with. I've made a second appointment with them and I think I might make it a regular thing. read more

I purchased a voucher thru LivingSocial starting from June and was hoping to get cleaning done on June 1, Saturday. To my surprise I found out they DO NOT WORK on Saturdays, only during weekdays!!!? The man (probably owner) was kind of rude and said clients don't want cleaning on Saturdays (don't know where he got this idea, I ALWAYS order cleaning on Saturdays and have it done), that's why they ONLY work during weekdays. But i also work during weekdays. So there is no way I can use voucher, and I"m not sure I can get money back ($75). Looks like I had the same issue as some other Yelpers. I bought this cleaning as a treat to myself, something that I wouldn't normally spend money on because I can do it myself. But I'm 9 months pregnant (literally) and thought it would be a good idea. I scheduled a 4:00 appointment with the "3 cleaners" like it says on the $59 Trubate voucher, and had to call at 4:15 to see where they were. Mause told me he would call them to find out. At 4:30 he calls me back to tell me they are stuck in traffic and would be here "soon." I asked if they were actually going to be professional and let me know that they were running late and he said that "it wasn't their fault, it's traffic." I told him that I understand traffic but asked if this was how he runs his business. Apparently it is. So at 4:45 two people showed up. The cleaning was fine. Nothing special. When I asked if she could clean the oven she said "it's not included in the voucher." Nowhere on the voucher does it say that ovens aren't included. I asked them to clean one window and she said that wasn't included either. I think the guy felt bad and went ahead and cleaned the window in a minute. Did I mention they were 45 minutes late and left an hour into a two hour cleaning?! Yes, the TWO HOURS was on the voucher. She said I might be able to call and get another hour at a later date. No thanks. I will just do it myself after this baby comes. Any minute now... Did I mention they never even apologized for being late?? Oh, and P.S. the chemicals they use are REALLY strong which is not good for pregnant women. The girl pointed that out but this would have been helpful to know before I booked it so I could have arranged for my husband to be here and I could have gone for a walk. The "Cleaners" (if you can call them that) just left my house and I am fuming... I bought a Trubate (now defunct) deal for Two 2-hour cleaning. Started calling mid-February to schedule an appt, and after leaving several messages with no return call, I finally scheduled an appt for 8:30 am today. BTW, when I scheduled the cleaning, Mouse said for a house my size (3-bd, 2 bth ~ 1,600 sq ft) they will only honor 1 cleaning visit instead of the stated 2 because it was "larger". At this point, i didn't care as Trubate went out of business and if M&J didn't honor the voucher, I'm stuck wasting my time on a service that would be mediocre at best (called it a woman's intuition). The appt was for 8:30am. It's 9:15 and no one is here. I called and spoke to Mouse and for some unknown reason, I'm not on their schedule.....WTF!!! Is this how you run a business??? And no apology by the way until I said this in unacceptable. So they rushed over and arrived at 10am......fine, at least they showed up. They (crew of 3) spent exactly 60 minutes at my house, which when I booked the appt, was "larger" so it can only be 1 cleaning. I asked for them to clean the windows and they said they don't do that as part of the Trubate deal....no where on the voucher were there any fine print on exclusions.....but in big bold letters WERE instructions to tip generously on the pre-discount price. I said I want the windows done, so they lightly dusted the windows, not even all of them. They wiped down my kitchen appliances, but did not clean the insider of the refrigerator or stove. They did not wipe down my baseboards, either (which according to their website is a service that is included along with cleaning the inside of appliances). Before I can even do a walk through, they've already walked out the front door and got in their car to leave. Didn't even hang around for a "tip". The entire time they were here they just wanted to leave. Mouse was horrible (his busines etiquette sucked) and the cleaning itself was terrible. Don't use them for anything, even if it is at a discount price. The funny thing is, I am looking for a cleaning service and wanted really bad to give them the business, but they dug their own grave on this one. read more

If I could give zero stars for integrity and customer service I would. I bought a Trubates deal for 2 two hour house cleanings, even though there were some negative reviews. I figured I would take a chance & see since there were 5 star reviews also. After a few weeks of phone tag, and trying to contact them via their web based contact form without response, I spoke with Mouse & set up the appointment. I let him know that I have a small 1 bedroom apartment. He was glad to hear that and said people buy the deals and have huge house and expect too much. He told me that the regular cleaning does not include windows, the fridge or the stove. He arrived on time and I was not home to let him in. He waited for about 15 minutes & left. I assumed that I lost one of the two cleanings for that, and he would have been absolutely right to say I had forfeit a cleaning, but he said I had forfeit both cleanings (all the money) and that if I wanted him to come back I would need to pay. I told him I thought it was unfair and understood 1 cleaning but not both. He insisted I would have to forfeit both. Unfortunately, Trubates went out of business and there is no one I can contact to complain, so I am out of luck. I cannot say what the cleaning service is like, but if his business practices are anything like it, I do not trust it and would not recommend using this service. read more

We had made an agreement with M & J Cleaning Services to come into our building at a specified time to get their cleaning services done. However, they arrived way past the given time and was unable to finish the job through the night. What they did finish was very well done and I am not sure whose fault it is for the project not being done entirely. Maybe it was a lack of communication, but at the end of the day, they did not finish and it was rather embarrassing when our guests arrived to find the cleaners still there. I would try their service again in the future but for now, not too sure about it. read more

The coupon proclaimed to never expire so I saved it for a surprise for my boyfriend. When I called to redeem they claimed that they never even ran a Dealfind deal, even though I was LOOKING at the voucher in front of me, I even called the number on the voucher to redeem and the guy who answered said they would not honor it because he didnt "remember" ever doing a deal with them. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. I asked for an email address where I could send the voucher for him to look at it and see that I did in fact have one. He refused to give me any info, he refused to discuss it, he refused to put someone else on the phone and he told me I was shit out of luck. They were late and didn't apologize. It was before work in the morning and I ended up having to take a cab to work to make up the time. They did a really poor job cleaning, including "washing" a couple dishes I had in the sink and leaving food on them. They also left wastebaskets full of garbage, surfaces not dusted and the stovetop still dirty. More disturbingly whatever chemicals they use smell absolutely terrible. I had to air out my house and burn candles & incense to get the smell out. It smelled like mop water mixed with the dust from a vaccum cleaner mixed with ammonia. Just awful.
