I called the Cleanerific and inquired about them becoming our vendor .We are a management company with residential buildings in San Francisco area . Mariana I believe was the lady who answered the phone .She was very rude and gave the vibes like she doesn't even want to talk with me on the phone .So unfortunately I couldn't even properly introduce myself to her and after her vulgar behavior on the phone I decided to call Stanley Steemer in San Francisco , and l did not regret that decision , I actually wan to thank Mariana from CLEANERIFIC for her behavior and helping me make the right decision not hiring CLEANERIFIC . Dear Mariana you should consider taking a different position and not answering the phone calls because you are completely uncappable of communicating in a professional way and CLEANERIFIC is loosing potential new customers that could significant help grow CLEANERIFIC. read more

We paid $600 for a move-in clean and COVID-19 disinfection. A) Floors weren't vacuumed or cleaned B) Bathrooms weren't cleaned C) Surface areas weren't cleaned or dusted D) Windows and window sills weren't cleaned or dusted Also unclear if any disinfection took place, based on the description of that service. I started using Cleanerific when they first opened in 2005. They were a service of Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) of San Francisco, and run as a not-for-profit. They charged a little more (only a little), but they paid their cleaners a living wage, provided them with full time employment (including benefits), and they used "green" cleaning products. They were easy to work with -- the leaders of the organization (Michael and Suzanne Berke) were professional and client focused. It felt good to support Cleanerific. Over the last 15 years, I used them consistently, every 2-3 months to supplement my own efforts to clean my home (1 bedroom apartment). About a year ago, JFCS transitioned Cleanerific to a for-profit business under new leadership. There was no announcement; if there was, I did not receive it. All I knew was that Michael and Suzanne were no longer with Cleanerific. My rate increased twice in the last year. Okay, I can live with that. Twice in the last year, they missed appointment times for cleanings. I was disappointed, but again, I can roll with that. Last week, I contacted them to schedule me for a cleaning. The wrote back to inform me of the following: "We have updated our policies and now require all clients that have gone over 8 weeks without a professional cleaning to schedule a deep clean." The rate for the "deep clean" is twice my normal rate. Essentially double time. I told them this would not work for me. And that for the last 15 years, there has never been an issue with cleaning my home every 8-12 weeks. They came back and lowered the price quote, but the new quote is a 55% increase. Time for a change...I am moving on from Cleanerific. read more

I had this company come and do a construction and apartment cleaning because I had just redone the kitchen. The apartment is 900 Sq Ft and they charged $450 which I thought was high to start. They had told me that they could handle the cleaning and tried to get me to include the windows for an extra fee. Because I was busy my wife let them in and then she had to leave as well. When my wife returned she was not pleased at all. So when I finally returned to the apartment I could not believe how bad it was! All of the new appliances in the kitchen had marks on them and the cabinets had streaks. When I contacted Cleanerific they offered to send someone to clean again but I'm not close. They also clamed that the kitchen had grease but it had just ben redone. It also looked like they never touched the bathroom floors which were dirty. Called a month ago, and had to set up an estimate visit for two weeks later. The estimate was fine, and I set up a date for cleaning. I was told I would be called for credit card info to pay and I realized on the day of (today) that I hadn't been. I had a cleaning scheduled this morning for 9:30 am, and I called at 8:40 am - after business hours are established -f to see what was going on. No answer. It is now 10:35 and I have heard nothing from Cleanerific. I want to support this organization, but I just can't. They made that impossible. It is now 3:00 pm and two people showed up. I had them scheduled for 9:30 am, and had been very clear on that timing with Michael. They showed up with two people when I only needed one person because ALL I wanted was my bathroom deep cleaned. I do not understand what the hell is going on here but it just screwed up my afternoon and my morning and I am furious. read more

I recently moved into a house whose previous owners had it "professionally cleaned" before I moved in. There was still dust all over, leaves and cobwebs everywhere. The fridge had about 4 inches of ice. I heard about Cleanerific and called them. My GOD they do a fantastic job! They buffed, polished, removed all cobwebs, defrosted and cleaned freezer, removed all the soap scum in shower. It really knocked my socks off! I've since used them for unpacking all my boxes and putting things away, cleaning carpet, cleaning upholstery and then to clean my old house, in preparation to sell it. I think they are as their name suggests: terrific and I will continue using them for deep cleaning that my weekly housekeeper can't keep up with. Fail. I scheduled an appointment for Michael to come out and look at my apartment for a move-out cleaning. I called the previous week and had a 3pm appointment scheduled for the next week. Michael was very nice and professional, and he said they had many available times to come over to give us an estimate. 3pm Monday rolls around and nada. No one shows up. My girlfriend calls about 45 minutes after our scheduled appointment and she talks to someone who tells her they are NOT coming. Not only are they not coming, but now they are TOTALLY BOOKED UP and they can no longer help us. Really? Is it because we're not Jewish? Maybe it was because this is the week after the rapture? I don't know, but they kind of screwed us. Now I'm looking for another company that WILL show up and WILL help after we move out. *sigh* read more

Cleanerific did a great job! I live on the 8th floor of an apartment complex with very old double hung windows with dividers on the top pane and a few large swivel windows. I called Cole Hardware for a window-cleaner recommendation and they told me to call Cleanerific. Great rec! Definitely pleased with the turn-out. My boyfriend was going to let them in at 11am and was suddenly called into work. I called Suzanne (she is a very nice lady by the way!) and told her that we could leave the key hidden in the hallway and they could let themselves in. When I got home, it was so nice to see our ocean-air encrusted windows looking so sparkly clean! We will definitely be using their services again. read more

DO NOT waste your time with this business. Michael is dishonest and I've never felt so much frustration trying to a get simple recleaning done. I recently moved into my new apartment and the previous owner used this business to get the apartment "deep cleaned" before our move in. Upon initial glance, the apartment looked fine. However, on closer inspection, there were oil stains left on the cabinets, stains in the refrigerator, and deep carpet stains still left over. (If you do decide to forgo my advice and use this Company, make sure you check these areas). We contacted Michael and asked if he could send Ken to come back and look at the carpet stains and reclean the fridge. First, scheduling Michael's people to come back to even look at the underwhelming job they had done was already a pain. After finally managing to reach Michael, we scheduled for someone to come in the next week to do the recleaning. The guy that Michael sent, Ken, showed up without any cleaning supplies, strolled into the apartment, made a phone call, and left. We were furious and tried to contact Michael again that the person he sent did not even bring cleaning supplies to "reclean". This was Michael's outright lie in text verbatim: "What else needs to be done? He cleaned the refrigerator and there is nothing more we can do with the carpet." Ok Michael. You have to be blind not to see the huge dark stain still left on the carpet after your "deep clean" and the fact that you outright lied and said your employee cleaned our fridge again when he didn't even bother to try showing up with cleaning supplies made my blood boil. We have supplies in the apartment - if he had asked, I would've gladly supplied my own. This is the kind of service and care you'll be getting if you chose this Company. Heed my advice and don't. The painful, headache inducing process that I had to go through to contact Michael (who doesn't respond to voicemails or calls) resulted in nothing. We gave up. Please heed my warning and support a more honest business in San Francisco that will give you better service for the money you are paying. read more

They might do good work, but I'll never know. My wife and I had great difficulty with scheduling a power washing with them. First, they lost the record of our first appointment, and then for the rescheduled version, they told us a few days before that their power washer didn't work that day. And then when they finally did show up, the manager didn't provide a hookup for a standard hose line. So, we just decided to call the whole thing off. Just seems like a poorly run company. read more

Twice I have posted this complaint and it appears for about a day and then is gone. Cleanerific can do a good job. But if they do a substandard job, they'll still charge you $120 for a 1 br apt. My microwave wasn't cleaned. My bathroom faucets weren't cleaned. About 3 other very simple things were overlooked. I mentioned it to the woman on the phone who said she would pass it on to Suzanne. Did I ever hear back from them? Did I get any kind of credit? There are plenty other companies out there who do a great job and STAND BY IT. read more

VERY impressed! I paid Cleanerific a very modest sum to clean the hell out of my dingy bathroom and tidy up my apartment in preparation for my girlfriend's return home from a long trip. I would have liked to employ Cleanerific, but I decided long ago to do business with good people, and, after meeting, I could not hire this company. The administrator/point person on the phone during the initial call was arrogant and unpleasant, but I let go of my annoyance and made an appointment with the administrator. He came in the house with an enormous chip on his shoulder, took a fast cursory walk through my home and quoted me a ridiculous amount of money for weekly cleaning. I used Cleanerific many years ago and received one of the worst house cleaning services I have ever experienced, but time has passed, I need help and thought I would try again, but, after meeting the estimator, could not even try. The most unfortunate aspect of all this is that the people reflect very poorly on JFCS, which otherwise, is a really good organization. Very disappointing! read more

If you are someone who believes in social enterprise, has deep respect for workers--in all occupations, supports community social service organizations, and expects quality work when paying market rates, then Cleanerific is NOT for you. If you politely provide input when basic, simple cleaning tasks are not completed about half of the time, and express you STILL want to continue working with them despite this because you believe in their cause, you are not the kind of client they want because THEY will drop YOU. My wife and I are clients of Cleanerific going on 3 years now and I can't speak more highly of their cleaning service. Every time I have scheduled them, they show up on time, their staff is friendly and they dispatch exactly the right number of people to clean my house in the allotted amount of time. I have so much confidence in their people and the cleaning service that I now let them in and leave when I have other appointments and obligations. To me, that is the utmost sign of confidence, trust and professional care. With that said,I highly recommend their services to my clients and I personally hire them to clean my own home. Had their deep clean recently (~$280 for two people for 4 hours) and they did an AMAZING job. The two ladies were methodical and thorough and not once did their efforts come off as rushed or half-assed. They cleaned EVERYTHING (including the fridge). We've tested a lot of different house cleaners and no one has compared to Cleanerific. We're picking them up on a 6 week rotation for about $160 a pop. Totally worth it. They are also non-profit and pay liveable wages to their staff. read more

This cleaning company changes dates, times, etc.and can't be counted on. Clean up is less than average and no more than that. Not good customer service. Dishonest in the way they tell you how many hours they will work, give you a quote and then change the hours - a compete waste of money and time. read more

I wanted to support a good cause and a company that treats it employees well, but the cleaners stole things from my home. When I called to let them know, Michael called me back. I hadn't asked for compensation, but his offer was really surprising- have the same person come back and spend three hours at my house cleaning for free. HELLO. DID YOU NOT HEAR ME TELL YOU THEY TOOK VINTAGE EARRINGS THAT I CAN'T REPLACE. No I do not want them back and don't insult my intelligence with such a ridiculous suggestion. read more

cleanerific did NOT leave my home clean at all. Not only did they speed through the cleaning process and leave early, although I paid the full allotted time frame. They also did not clean the toilets well, did not vacuum very well (they left visible shmutz and seaweed on the carpets). I think they overcharge and for that money ($30 per hour) they should be doing a much better job. I thought maybe it was an accident and decided to give this company a second chance, but when I scheduled an appointment with Suzanne the second time around, it was OK -- until the day came and nobody arrived, and I was expecting my in-laws to stay a few nights with us. I ended up having to scrub the bathroom, vacuum and refresh the guest bed sheets myself, which I don't mind doing-- but hardly have the time, so I ended up staying up late at night until 2AM in order to make the guest bath and bedroom suitable for them, the loss of sleep caused my immune system to become vulnerable and the entire time my visiting in-laws were in town enjoying their sparkling accomodations -- I was SICK in bed! CLEANERIFIC = VERY BAD. NEVER AGAIN If I could give them -5 stars I certainly would. read more

Unfortunately my experience with Cleanerific was poor - including customer service from management. I used their cleaning services once a month for 8 - 9 months and I liked their mission (employee health benefits, good pay, green cleaning products) but unfortunately the cleaners were not good. A couple times each of the following happened: the downstairs areas were not cleaned, a dog was locked in and a dog was locked outside till I arrived home several hours after a cleaning session, cleaning product was left on stovetop & stainless steel appliances; bathroom was wiped down without being cleaned (TP remnants found), including shelves, mirrors and bathtub; overall, a few poor cleaning jobs (though the first job was great). Following each poorly cleaned session (I would say 3 or so), I sent an email to management, and each email was promptly acknowledged with an apology and promise that it would be addressed/corrected at the next months cleaning - I neither asked for a credit nor was one offered by management. The final cleaning, however, was so bad that I asked management to come out and see for themselves. Michael came out and acknowledged that it was a poor job, and he even said he had difficulties motivating his cleaners because "after all, they clean toilets." (Believe me, I did tell him that there are aspects of my job I don't like but I have to do because it's what I'm paid to do). Again, no refund or credit was offered/discussed. After reflecting on that last meeting, I emailed management to ask for the same cleaners to come out each week so that rooms weren't missed and my dogs wouldn't be locked in/out; I asked for an agreement that if another poor job was done a credit would be issued (they charge the card on file); and I asked that one of the items that was broken by the staff be reimbursed (I admit the decorative item wasn't really worth much, but at that point it was about the fact no one offered to replace it after 2 emails and an in-person conversation). Michael declined and said it was best to part ways. I followed up twice afterwards requesting a credit (credit, not refund - I acknowledge that I did get some cleaning for my money, just not everything that was agreed/discussed for the cleaning fee) and refund of broken item, but I have not heard a word from Michael (Director) or Suzanne (Asst Director) and it's been at least 2 months since my last email to them. read more
