Christopher Lawerence was everything tonight! I never got bored of his music and he played for 2 hours! Danced the whole time, great light show. I wore earplugs but they did not protect my ears as much as they should have. My hearing was a bit muffled when I got out. We got a table and it was the best one in the house! Christopher was so engaging and we all had such a good time!!! The staff at the club was great as well from the security to bottle service. The places had great decor and lighting. The only thing missing was cushions for the hanging chairs outside.

Fun little club venue. It looks a bit like a restaurant from the outside and it's small and intimate inside. Clean toilets. There's also a good patio outside.

I came on a baby shower party and the place had a good amount of room and a clean restroom. I had a drink at the bar area and gotten a good flavored drink. And on top the crowd had a good amount food to celebrate the day.

Two drinks $53.02 but was $43

They steal from you on drinks was ordering the same drink and they kept changing the prices they are so dumb with cameras inside and my bank statements

    Hope giving bottle service, awesome!

Had a great time. They know how to put on a show. The place is big enough & well ventilated with a big dance floor. Great memories!

Bartenders offering ice but no water. Makes no sense- just saying y'all

I've been here in the past like years ago and it was a vibe downstairs but ever since this place has gone a bit downhill to say the least.. When my gf and I first got here earlier there was a chick in the restroom that was head in the toilet.. it wasn't even 10:30 yet. Mind you no one asked her to leave - the next two times we visited the restroom she was there. Her friends were leaving her in there and just coming back to check on her. Sounds like a case waiting to happen. Knowingly having under 21 year olds wasted sick in your restroom- yikes. It is more like a place for 18-20 year olds to rave - it's over priced a f. I bought one corona and it was $10. Lol not a vibe.. All the other shit I can deal with but this is why I decided to write this review... This place also charges $9.75 for a bottle of water. Has no water fountain and doesn't give out glasses of water. This place will however will give you a cup of ice. Someone tell me how this makes sense? I'm not a cheap ass I'll buy a water for $10.. but my point is you have 18 year olds running around wasted and you don't have any public water fountain or even offer glasses of water. - speaking of the bathroom there was one toilet not working one girl passed out with her head on the other and the last one the seat was sliding off-- One mixed drink is $22. Like why? Plus- Lasers are nice but the strobes are a bit much to say the least. AC is cool which is always nice but hot bathrooms... Downstairs has been closed for a long while.

The Shanghai'd Room in Huntington Beach has been my home away from home for the past two years,…read morelargely because of two absolute standouts: Byron and Meow. Let's start with Byron, because every great night out deserves a great bouncer. Byron is calm, observant, proactive, and genuinely invested in keeping people safe. He handles situations before they turn messy, all while remaining cool, approachable, and respectful. You feel protected without feeling policed -- which is exactly how it should be. Plus, he's great to talk to, and I've enjoyed every interaction I've had with him. Now for the real star of the show: Meow (aka Marissa). I adore this woman. She's sweet, hilarious, quick-witted, intelligent, beautiful, and makes incredible drinks. She is the reason I keep coming back -- and the reason many of my friends are loyal regulars week after week. She somehow manages to make a packed bar feel like your living room. Here's the funny part: I don't even drink much. Half the time I'm ordering a Diet Coke -- and still tipping like I ordered a craft cocktail, because Meow deserves it. I say that as someone who worked through college in hospitality and bartended high-volume places like TGI Friday's, massive events at the Long Beach Convention Center (yes, including the Grand Prix and concerts), and even managed bar service at an upscale steakhouse. Bartending takes multitasking, people-reading skills, awareness, organization, and discernment. Meow has all of it. She hustles, she remembers people, and she runs that bar like a pro. And when she sings? Goosebumps. Every. Single. Time. That said, in the spirit of honesty, I did have one unfortunate experience here involving another patron. On two separate occasions, a woman I didn't know decided I was somehow a threat to her relationship (despite me having exchanged nothing more than polite hellos with her boyfriend). The second encounter escalated into her grabbing and pinching my arm and physically turning me around to confront me. Not exactly the vibe. I reported the incident to another security staff member (Peter), but unfortunately nothing came of it, and the situation wasn't addressed. I ended up handling it myself and disengaging -- which, ironically, led to her following me outside to continue the interrogation. Not ideal. Because of a few moments like this, I'd gently recommend being cautious about giving out phone numbers here -- social media is a safer bet. That said, when the right staff are on, this place truly shines. I still bring friends and family here when they're in town, and they're always impressed. At the end of the day, Byron and Meow are the heart of Shanghai'd. Their professionalism, integrity, warmth, and competence are the reason I've stayed loyal and continue to return. They set the standard -- and they absolutely deserve the recognition.

Once it was back up, the site was reloaded with HTML and the link to purchase tickets changed without notifying anyone. If you had access to a computer and knew a thing or two about web development, you would have been able to access the html and discover the actual link. That said link was discovered and shared amongst others on Facebook while the rest of us who were stuck with phones or who don't have a Facebook account continued to refresh a page that would waste an hour of our time. Their tweet defended themselves saying that they never changed the link on anyone, but then on their Facebook post, they apologized stating that they overwrote the link after they brought the site back up. Not sure why they kept changing their story, but are you really going to give your business to a club that called its customers liars when they were called out on Twitter? I'm not upset that I wasn't able to buy tickets for a sold out show. I've been doing this electronic music thing for 10 years and sometimes it's just the way it goes, but it's another thing to mislead customers and waste their time and not be given a fair chance. Who knows? Maybe the correct link was shared amongst friends and people who work in the industry. It would appear that way, given some of these electronic music Twitter accounts made smug little comments about how they were able purchase tickets and how they sent the link to others.

Pros: Intimate, nice screen visuals, staff are very nice, venue is very clean (especially compared to the og arena KTown), good music choice for target demographic (melodic/future bass), bar is quick and uncrowded. Cons: Rather small floor area, parking is insanely hard to find in front and you may have to find a paid lot or walk a bit more. Since they're in their "beta-testing" mode, there were not a lot of people there- but can't fault them for something out of their control. Overall, a lot of improvements in this iteration of arena over their OG location that is promising if they keep working on it. Reminds me a lot of Nova SD

If you were approached to host this club, please read this review and make an informed decision…read more I think Arena OC has potential, but upper management issues along with their systems and processes need attention to truly elevate the customer experience. I'm unsure but I feel like my party was robbed of our time and money... First, I want to highlight the excellent customer service provided by my bottle service attendant and the on-site manager. They genuinely went out of their way to accommodate my party, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. Their dedication truly stood out and was one of the highlights of the evening. Last month, I had the opportunity to host an event at this nightclub. While the contacts I worked with were friendly, responsive, and professional, I was disappointed by the limitations placed on the bottle service attendant and the on-site manager. My party requested water and chasers for our drinks, but these were overlooked, leaving us to purchase drinks at the bar despite having a table. This completely defeats the purpose of bottle service and suggests possible understaffing. Arena OC provided me with a complimentary champagne bottle and a complimentary table for hosting. My party reserved an additional table and purchased two bottles. We intended to purchase a third, but it was unavailable--how does a club run out of bottles so early in the night, especially when I had communicated this preference well in advance? This lack of preparation speaks to poor management and planning. If the goal is to maximize revenue, wouldn't it make sense to stock more $40 bottles that can be sold at $520 each (including tax and tip)? It feels like upper management is more focused on cutting corners than maximizing profits. To make matters worse, we paid part of our table tab in cash and were promised change, but it never came. On a positive note, I appreciate that Arena OC upgraded my party's table and placed it side by side with the promo table. This thoughtful gesture showed attention to our needs, and I'm grateful for that. But, as I mentioned earlier, on-site employees are making up for the lack of care for customer service on behalf of upper management. The staff is doing their best to compensate for the shortcomings in management's approach, but it's clear that the real issue lies with the decision-makers at the top. Adding to the frustration, I still have not received my commission check over a month later. I followed up and provided my email address as requested, but I have not received any response since. This lack of communication is both unprofessional and unacceptable. Furthermore, I was told that I hadn't checked any names off the guest list, which is simply untrue. It's clear that management needs a more reliable system for tracking guest lists and ensuring accuracy. Out of the 20 people on my list, 14 showed up before the 11pm cut-off time, including 7 women--but I was told that none of them had been checked in. This discrepancy highlights a serious issue with how guest lists are managed. Hosts rely on sales from tables and guest list entries, and for both systems to be disorganized, it gives the impression that Arena OC needs to revisit their business model because they are not operating efficiently. Customer service, while commendable, is severely limited by how much on-site employees can compensate for management's desire to cut corners. Last but not least, they have on-site photographers but the photos from the event still have not been uploaded to their website for us to download and share. While the on-site staff's dedication is commendable, the club's operational and management issues severely overshadow their hard work and detract from the overall customer experience. Arena OC has potential, but for now, it's far from my top choice for nightlife in Orange County. TLDR; have not received commission for hosting, did not get change from payment, understaffed, understocked, inaccurate account of guest list. Business model needs improvement.
