Fantastic craft beers, great new menu with outstanding burgers and wings. Scrumptious food by Chef Gil. Beer release parties by Twin Lights Brewing. Taco Tuesdays! Trivia Night every Wednesday and prizes with Gina. The best damn bartenders on the Jersey Shore - Erin, Bob and Rebecca. read more

Terrible Service. Bartender/waiter wearing a Belford Brewing shirt and backward Yankees hat and sunglasses seated us, brought our drinks and didn't return for 15 minutes even though they were not busy. Never returned after bringing food and never refilled drinks. Awful way to treat customers!!! read more

Walking into this place, I was not expecting much of anything. A real dive, filled with characters from all walks of life. Their selection of craft beer is extremely limited, but we came for lunch more than drinking (had a long day of brewery planned for the day). The 50/50 burger was excellent, one of the best I have had. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, soft bun, and a heaping of crispy bacon on top, it was worth every penny. I wish the fries were crispy because they would have been even better, but I ate them all anyway because they were seasoned perfectly. read more

Great burgers...wings, tv screens open mics, nice place to stop after s day at the hook.

Checked this place out on Father's Day as the other local places were packed. This definitely a locals place which we love. The people and staff were all super friendly. They have outdoor seating and live music currently. They have a decent selection of beer so we tried a local ipa which was awesome. We also had the fried pickles as an appetizer, my husband had the wings, and I had a burger. Bar food but good bar food! If you are in the area and looking for a casual place for a beer and some food, this is your place. We've already been back to enjoy the outdoor area. read more

Hip place. Great food. Nice people. God for the burgers and pickles and chips. And maybe more.

Now that many restaurants have partially opened my wife and i have been trying to give our business to local places. The Chubby Pickle is definitely a locals kind of place. The staff was super friendly from the moment we walked up till the minute we left making us feel like regulars. They had a selection of all the usual beers plus a handful of local selections to choose from. The menu is typical bar food , which is right up our alley, no pretentious items on the menu, just comfort food. We had the fried pickles and they were on point! For dinner we split a burger and buffalo wings. Both were sizable and quite tastey. We couldn't finish the wings or the burger, we were full. All in all a great place for some good simple food. read more

We have passed by more times than we can count and always say we'll stop in "next time." Well, we finally stopped in around 5pm on a Friday and instantly liked the vibe. Outdoor seating, a big bar area, pub food and specials. Ordered the sampler app platter for $11.95... not many pieces in the platter. 3 small mozzarella sticks, 3 small fried pickles and 4 tiny mac n cheese bites. We shared a bacon bleu cheese burger and it was average bar food quality. It was fine. Monday - 1/2 off bar pies Tuesday- 50 cent wings and karaoke Wednesday- $5 burgers and trivia Thursday- beat the clock and open mic Friday- band Saturday- ufc Sunday- band We like the general feel of this place; However, the sampler platter was a rip off and the bartender was too occupied talking about her wedding to two other patrons to serve us. She was friendly when she came around but the whole time we were there she chatted about her wedding to the only 2 other patrons at the bar, and it was difficult to get her attention when trying to order another round of drinks. We will be back to give this place another chance because we really WANT to like it here, and it's a nice change from Windansea and Inlet Cafe. read more

Great service. Great burgers and wings. Stop in and grab a table or spot at the bar order a nice cold one and enjoy the vibe.

BEST BURGER ON THE SHORE. Friendly fast service. Fun friendly atmosphere. Try the frickes..they are scrumptious too.

The place is an "off the beaten track" gem. The food created here is absolutely delicious and not what you'd expect from a local place. The service is always great and very friendly. They are also very community-oriented and host events to support various projects. read more

You're wiped out from a long day at Sandy Hook (rough waves and plenty of garbage floating around - specifically a large empty bag of Funyuns that just wouldn't leave us alone) followed by more exercise checking out the Twin Lights Lighthouse and now you're famished. You know how hard it is to pick a place with four stubborn family members? But you open Yelp, tap 'NEARBY' and immediately everyone is up to check out The Chubby Pickle on the absurd and ridiculous and brilliant name alone. It's your typical sports bar with a small menu and everything is going to be deep-fried. But you know what? The peeps in the kitchen are pumping out solid stuff. Fish 'n chips - on point. Fried pickles - excellent. Kid's chicken fingers - actually juicy white meat inside. Kid's grilled cheese - ridiculously big and it got a thumbs up from the younger twin. Impressive beer list (too bad I'm stuck having to drive home an hour north). Cool staff. Bonus: hearing Kool & the Gang's "Celebration" always puts me in a good mood. Extra bonus: finding out when the bill came that kids eat free on Saturdays. Woot woot! (I'm giving this place an extra 1/2-a-star because one of my kids was throwing darts and did something funky and lost one of them and I know later in the evening some drunk lunkheads will not be pleased that they'll need to hunt around on the floor to find it.) read more

The Chubby Pickle has a cool name, excellent live bands and hip instagram worthy lighting. Lots of potential here but they fell short on food and service. Granted they were packed on a Saturday night but then hire extra staff! Our group ended up waiting almost and hour for our food and my friends' husband never even got his food. My crab cake BLT was good but the crab cake was tiny. Fries were also excellent and I appreciate that they weren't super greasy. The highlight of our night was the excellent live band that had a nice upbeat alternative sound. At the end of the night this place even managed to mess up our check. They overcharged us and when we noticed they had a hard time rectifying the situation. We were in a pickle indeed. read more

So we chose this place based on some recommendations from friends . We had two couples and just wanted a casual dinner and a few drinks prior to a concert we were going to. Great recommendations on a few IPA's . We ordered some apps and then some Entrees. We had the bacon Brussel sprouts and chips and salsas as apps . Brussels sprouts disappeared . We then ordered a couple burgers and a couple salads for the ladies , portions were rather large . Service was great and fast , will certainly return . read more

Went there tonight for the first time and was blown away. We were greeted immediately by an incredibly friendly staff. Atmosphere inside was phenomenal. Really felt the chubby pickle vibes. Happy hour drinks and food were unmatched. We have tried a ton of restaurants around town and this is by far our favorite one. They definitely have us as life long customers. Although I am young currently, I plan on bringing my first born son here on his 21st birthday to share his first drink. I also hope to have my last drink here. Who knows maybe one day I'll even own the chubby pickle.... but until then I shall dream of the day. I now embody the chubby pickle aesthetic and will do so from here on out. This restaurant changed the game.... honesty it changed my life. Chubby pickle, I love you with all my heart read more

My favorite little bar to go to when I don't feel like being around large crowds. Don't get me wrong, this bar gets busy and their live bands are fun to watch. The environment is just smaller and more intimate than some of the larger shore town bars. Their drinks are amazing, their staff are funny and kind. Their food is really good, menu options are you would expect but better tasting then your average bar. They have the absolute best chili that I've ever had! Portions are big, prices are fair. Definitely recommend if you're passing through town read more

Seems like a popular local beer and a burger type of place. The stage was set up for live music later that evening. The burger I had was fine but over cooked. The service was casual but attentive. Worth returning to. read more

Had the coconut shrimp, Fried pickles and smash burger. All absolute bangers. Give it a go

Love this place. Best go to bar in the neighborhood. Great food, great atmosphere, great service!

Went there after going to Sandy Hook lighthouse. Food was very good. Dive bar. I had the crab cake blt and wasn't sure it would work, but oh man it was delicious. And they have tater tots, which are my weakness. Boyfriend had the 50/50 burger, 50% beef and 50% bacon. Normally he doesn't order burgers out but was happy he did. He had sweet potato fries which were perfectly cooked. My daughter had the cheesesteak and fries. Her friend has chicken nuggets and fries, both were very happy with their meals. Had frickels and quesadilla for appetizers. Food took a bit longer but was definitely worth it. Left there full and happy! But really, how can you pass up a place called the chubby pickle? read more

The Chubby Pickle is a fitting name fir this bar. Me and my son enjoyed all the pickles we ate there. We were a little sad they didn't have anything else, but it was worth it to eat the most chubby pickles this side of the Mississippi. 4 stars because there was not a giant pickle statue, maybe they'll add it later. read more

The breading on the chicken tenders was blackened/burnt and the meat itself had a strange taste - it also was completely unseasoned, the burger had no ketchup or sauce on it but my husband liked it anyway. It was just ok, we probably won't be back read more

Great spot with some fun action in the evening. Most nights have live music or some form of entertainment, trivia night Wednesday's, burger night , taco Tuesday. This place sucks!!!! Don't have fun what so ever cause the staff is miserable and self centered as hell!! I know people that have worked here never went ever. Went there the other night randomly, bartenders are cocky for no reason. Don't spend a dollar of your time or a minute of it to deal with complete total bullshit. As a person in this industry for all of my life I see absolutely NO reason to bring a fellow bartender/ server / patron down. Theese people should be so ashamed man. Fitting because my mother walked out five years ago for the same exact reason. Chubby pickle? More like sucky pickle!! Sorry I ever stepped foot in there, but I learn my dollars are just as green to a place way more deserving!! Just a heads up!! If I could this would honestly be -stars!! read more
