Walking into this place, I was not expecting much of anything. A real dive, filled with characters from all walks of life. Their selection of craft beer is extremely limited, but we came for lunch more than drinking (had a long day of brewery planned for the day). Checked this place out on Father's Day as the other local places were packed. This definitely a locals place which we love. The people and staff were all super friendly. They have outdoor seating and live music currently. They have a decent selection of beer so we tried a local ipa which was awesome. Now that many restaurants have partially opened my wife and i have been trying to give our business to local places. The Chubby Pickle is definitely a locals kind of place. The staff was super friendly from the moment we walked up till the minute we left making us feel like regulars. They had a selection of all the usual beers plus a handful of local selections to choose from. The menu is typical bar food , which is right up our alley, no pretentious items on the menu, just comfort food. We had the fried pickles and they were on point! For dinner we split a burger and buffalo wings. Both were sizable and quite tastey. We couldn't finish the wings or the burger, we were full. The Chubby Pickle has a cool name, excellent live bands and hip instagram worthy lighting. Lots of potential here but they fell short on food and service. Granted they were packed on a Saturday night but then hire extra staff! Our group ended up waiting almost and hour for our food and my friends' husband never even got his food. My crab cake BLT was good but the crab cake was tiny. Fries were also excellent and I appreciate that they weren't super greasy. The highlight of our night was the excellent live band that had a nice upbeat alternative sound. At the end of the night this place even managed to mess up our check. They overcharged us and when we noticed they had a hard time rectifying the situation. We were in a pickle indeed. read more

So we chose this place based on some recommendations from friends . We had two couples and just wanted a casual dinner and a few drinks prior to a concert we were going to. Great recommendations on a few IPA's . We ordered some apps and then some Entrees. We had the bacon Brussel sprouts and chips and salsas as apps . Brussels sprouts disappeared . My favorite little bar to go to when I don't feel like being around large crowds. Don't get me wrong, this bar gets busy and their live bands are fun to watch. The environment is just smaller and more intimate than some of the larger shore town bars. Their drinks are amazing, their staff are funny and kind. Went there tonight for the first time and was blown away. We were greeted immediately by an incredibly friendly staff. Atmosphere inside was phenomenal. Really felt the chubby pickle vibes. Happy hour drinks and food were unmatched. We have tried a ton of restaurants around town and this is by far our favorite one. They definitely have us as life long customers. Although I am young currently, I plan on bringing my first born son here on his 21st birthday to share his first drink. I also hope to have my last drink here.
