He kind of has a bit of a harder tone of voice (if you have a Filipino dad or Tito's you know what I mean) not uncommon for Northern Filipinos, but that doesn't mean they're mean! I asked the owner what part of the Philippines they're from and he said he was from Pangasinan, Northern Philippines and I told him my family is also from Northern Philippines. He was quite nice and asked me if I've been here before and I said it was my first time but that everything looked really good.
