my mom ordered this for me while we took the bus from SeaTac airport to back home, and had a stop at the Lakewood Transit Center. food was...okay. Maybe because the nostalgia is not there like when I have my cute momzy's cooking, I do not have a higher rating for the food, but it was okay. Definitely filling. I like that they have chicharron bulaklak available here because I do not see it at any other Filipino restaurants in Washington state. I did not get it, though :( not good for the cholesterol service was really great, though. Filipinos are always great with hospitality because the bright smiles and happy-sounding voices, so I felt so at home here. lots of tables to eat at if you choose to dine here and I like that there were even bakery pastries available for purchase. the ambiance of the restaurant was nothing special, but the people there are what make it special. you just leave the restaurant with that feel-good feeling inside because the kindness that radiates in the attitude and personality from the workers :)

3 yrs later and I came back for their crispy pata and it's as delicious as it was when I first ate here! The owner and staff are as friendly as before and the food is still amazingly fresh. This time we took food to go and also chose the Dinaguan, fried bangus fish, ginataan of kalabasa or coconut stewed squash. PRO TIP: if you're buying something fried, do not forget to ask for vinegar

Mom was jonesing for crispy pata so we drove up from Olympia to get some here. She was a little worried as she stood in line and saw that it looked a little undercooked. I told her it would be okay because they would finish frying it after she ordered it so it would be super fresh, which they did. Mom had a blast eating the pig knuckles and the crispy skin. Sis got the adobo pork on rice and it was almost as good as Mom made. There were a lot of people there on a Saturday morning, but not so many that we didn't all have somewhere to sit. The staff is nice and very helpful. They were so kind and respectful to my Mom, which I really appreciate. Have I had better Filipino food? Absolutely, but this is as good as it gets in Tacoma and I appreciate what I got.

    - Decided to go here because we heard some great recommendations on this place. Sadly, it was a miss for us. The food tasted good but the food was SO cold. Usually it doesn't bother us that it's somewhat cold but the Bicol express was REALLY cold. They just brought it to the front so I expected it to be warm but it wasn't. It's like they just took it out of the fridge. (We would've went to tell them but the line was almost out the door and it was going to take like 30-40 mins just to tell them it's cold food, it wasn't worth it atp) - The flavoring for everything was there but everything wasn't warm and made me think that it wasn't fresh? The Pinakbet was perfect, I love it so much. The Dinuguan is to die for. The chicken afritada was also cold, and we were upset a little. The turon was hard in the middle. We would've brought all these back and get a refund but didn't want to stand in the line (our turon took like 20-30 mins to come out because it was so busy.) -we were upset because all the food came out to the front after we ordered our food? Like they could've let us know that it wasn't the full menu and to wait for 5 more minutes, so we could get other choices. Once the rush came that's when they put out all the food... like how about everyone that came before them? The guy was super friendly and nice, the lady as well. The prices are on the higher side. I want to give this place a try again but honestly the cold food, the long wait, and then them not letting us know that the full menu was going to be out in literally less then 5 minutes is a no for me. Sucks because I really love the flavors.

Super good food and service, will definitely be back and will be recommending. Also had the ube and mango cassava, they were absolutely amazing.

    Halo halo

I'm so happy my friend introduced me to this hidden gem!!! We were craving halo halo and she told me that we needed to go to Paraiso! She said their food and service were top notch and she was right! The owner was really kind and had a great sense of humor! I'm really picky when it comes to eating Filipino food outside of my family's cooking, but wow... I was impressed! I ordered the kare kare and it hit the spot! Creamy, meat nice and tender, and was so tasty especially with the bagoong! My friend ordered the caldareta and grilled squid which were both delicious too! We also got gulaman and halo halo!!! Both were perfect for a hot day! Can't wait to come back!

Cute spot with a good selection of food items and Filipino items in the store. Workers were very nice, but seemed to get a bit overwhelmed when it was busy. Took a while to be able to check out on the store side. We got the longanisa, tinola, adobo, and dinaguan. They were solid, hit the spot. Puto was a bit small, but really yummy.

Left to Right: Diniguan, picadillo, and sig sig.

I had an intense craving for diniguan aka chocolate meat (at least that is what I tell my toddler). So I sought out a Filipino joint that can serve my needs. It's a neat place that serves classic Filipino food cafeteria style. They have drinks and desserts everything you can almost think of bc there is a store connected to it. The service was great, the lady behind the counter was jolly and let us try things we were curious about and explained to us what things were. The food was bomb and fulfilled my cravings. The diniguan (sp) was rich in flavor and had a lil kick of spicy and vinegar. It was just gravy goodness like give it to me in a cup! Sig sig was good I'm just used to it having a bit of spice and the ground beef thing I think it's called picadillo but it's your standard meat and potatoes hearty meal. Not pictured was lumpia and my eating partners meal that consisted of kare kare and adobo and they did it was good. Why 4 stars if everything was good you ask? The price compared to portion we couldn't find it justifiable. Maybe I'm just used to American portions but their portions for the price was small.

    Lechon kawali

The food brought back so many memories! There were many dishes already cooked (options change daily.) and other dishes that can be made to order. The atmosphere reminds me so much of home, and the customer service was top tier. There's also a Filipino based store attached that has many Filipino local favorites. I got the pork sinigang, which had the right amount of sourness and tender meat. Also had the dishes for dine in, and the plates used reminded me of eating at home. (Comfort) The pork adobo and lechon kawali, were absolutely delicious! The lechon was extremely crispy and comes with a vinegary dipping sauce. Had to get some banana turon to go, and wow, they did not disappoint! The crispiness was there, and it wasn't too sweet. Will definitely come by again!

The lumpia come frozen in bags of a dozen, making them easy to store and cook whenever you're ready. Their vinegar and sweet sauces are also fantastic and pair perfectly with the lumpia. The banana turon were my favorite! The value is excellent for the quality and portion size, and I really appreciated their YouTube videos with clear, easy-to-follow cooking instructions. The process was completely foolproof, even for anyone new to frying lumpia at home. The only downside is their limited hours, which can make planning a bit tricky.
