If you couldn't tell already, I am a big fan of Fahrenheit/this great paint-your-own pottery studio. I have been here countless times since they opened a while back. Each time I go there are new types of pottery you can paint as well as the classics. Your choices range from plates, mugs, butter dishes, christmas ornaments, earring holders, decorations, and so much more. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. They are also almost always working on their own pieces as they work throughout the day, which is so fun to see. You can tell everyone here loves doing what they do. Helpful tip, they take reservations and can book up fast during the holiday season or popular weekends. You can call for reservations (they are easy to talk to on the phone, in case you are someone who worries about that). When you go inside you check-in and they will tell you where your table is, it usually has your name written as well. You can pick whatever you want to paint, use any paint colors, and then they will put it in the kiln and you pick it up after. They call you when it is done! Oh and they also have a parking map on their website for anyone coming out of town. I am planning another appointment ASAP to make some fun holiday gifts and I definitely suggest you do the same!

After visiting two other independent yarn stores in South Jersey today, I found Woolbearers. I…read morerate it five stars, because Yelp doesn't go any higher. It deserves at least 10, especially when compared to other local yarn stores. First, it had an enormous selection of yarns to fit all budgets. Second, it carries several brands of needles, not just the one or two the competition stock. Third, the store is xoxo-full of kits, pattern sheets, samples, and ideas. Next, the person running the store was as helpful as you could ever hope to encounter - beyond fabulous. When I couldn't decide between two brands of needles, she invited me to sit at a work table, loaned me a ball of yarn, and let me try them. She didn't hover... just left me to knit. When she came over after a few minutes to see how I was doing, I had a question about a cast-on technique. She offered to show me. I left the store with the needles I wanted and as a better knitter. Thank you, Woolbearers!
