The worst part was some of my "class mates," older men and women who were rather rude and pushy and very demanding of our instructors time on an individual basis. Like impatient elderly people at restaurants treating their servers poorly with poor boundaries. That was kind of frustrating but I'm pretty self sufficient so it all worked out fine even though they would then come to me and take my time to ask me for help... Either way I had a very nice time and would totally take another class there! They also have a swap meet for supplies that I participated in that was AWSOME I left with so much great stuff and didn't have to pay a cent because I brought a bunch of stuff in. Would highly recommend. Staff is always courteous, friendly and helpful.

The Community Arts Center is tucked away down a local street, and I was concerned that I was lost--thankfully not the case. I had a great visit. The building feels like a living, breathing tribute to art. There are multiple floors for hosting classes and events. There is a kiln for firing pottery on site. Even the grounds are beautiful, with lots of art and sculptures resting around the walkways outside. The Tea Bowl Exhibition was very well done. I bought a ticket for a Japanese tea demonstration, which was really interesting and enjoyable. I thought I'd be at the Arts Center for an hour, but I stayed much longer to check everything out. If I lived closer, I'd definitely look into taking classes here. For now, I look forward to my next visit for an event or exhibition.

I wanted to try something new out of the ordinary and found the right class in this place, ZENTANGLE. Marie (instructor) guides each student into different levels of awareness, meditating thru lines, figures and shades becoming a complete drawing. She begins with breathing exercises and leads you as soothing music is played in the background. The class is a couple of hours and trust you'll leave there relaxed and proud of yourself. You don't need to know how to draw or have any particular talent to getaway in your own piece of art. I give it 5stars because of Marie's unique techniques, close parking, picturesque campus, clean bathrooms, and ZENTANGLE's ballroom classroom in the 2nd floor is quite elegant, each corner says a story. Parking is ample across the street but for events you may even be given free valet service! (We were but elected to park our car in the lot) As soon as we arrived an attendant took my dripping wet umbrella & bagged it for me and set it in the umbrella holder. We were greeted with servers carrying trays of cocktails and wine. From what I understand the venue does not supply the wine but they do create the amazing appetizers and legendary meals. The appetizers kept on coming and coming, scallops wrapped w bacon, huge Japanese shrimp wrapped in a wonton thing, cheesesteak egg rolls, "green eggs and ham"- they were deviled egg filling dyed green on a tiny piece of toast with a tiny piece of ham, mini mussels with bacon, grilled salmon, mini steak tartar on a mini toast, and mini salads in a Parmesan cheese crispy "bowl". They had hot melted Brie with fig jam it was amazing along with a cheese table with seeded crackers. I would have been happy with just the appetizers. The entree we ordered was a splendid melt in your mouth filet mignon for my husband and a huge crab cake for me accompanied by mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Omg then after desserts which was cake and mini pastries served in a separate room downstairs. After the desserts they brought out curly fries and ketchup! The service from the staff was spectacular and everything, like the appetizers, was plentiful! We were treated like royalty. The young man, the wedding coordinator, kept everything moving and took control of the well paced event. They're obvious professionals with lots of experience executing these events. The roof was leaking during the event in one small spot and the rain was brutal that evening. The problem was solved with a plastic bucket on a rug. This probably just started this evening as the building seems to be very well taken care of.

I loved that there was a mix of found art, sculpture, collage and film. There was even art on display for sale, which I could definitely see myself taking advantage of. They have a night market coming up in June with vendors and food trucks and they are part of the Art Loop which is every first Friday of the month. They are extremely thorough, helpful in providing recommendations when thinking through particular details (e.g. decor and layouts), and just have the best energy that makes for a positive experience at every step of the event process. And the day-of staff are great also! They were all so professional, showed a bit of personality when interacting with me and other guests and were all very attentive. This time, we had the half ballroom given the number of guests (~50 people RSVP'd), but the full ballroom is available if you have a higher guest count.
