While the name remains the same and he kept the smartfix decal that I saw the previous owner paint on the wall by hand, my experience here no longer reflects the SmartFix I came to trust over the years. Personally, I value businesses that are transparent, respectful of others in the same industry, and community-minded. Unfortunately, that hasn't been my experience at this location since the change, and it's not a place I would choose to support going forward. For long-time SmartFix customers: the original owner, Ali - who built the strong reputation many of us associate with the name - is now operating independently at 89 Wharncliffe Rd. I was relieved to find him there, as he continues to offer the same honest, reliable, and skilled service I had come to expect. What happened during a routine screen repair on my girlfriend's iPhone 11 is not just unprofessional--it is criminal. We handed over the phone for a screen replacement, and upon retrieval, it was obvious the staff had been snooping through her private information. Multiple apps were left open that were not active when we dropped it off, including the "Recently Deleted" folder in the Photo album and message threads with people she hasn't spoken to in months. The most disturbing discovery: We found that during the exact timeframe the phone was in their repair shop, an intimate photo of her in a bikini was sent from her device to a phone number we do not recognize. They used the repair as an opportunity to violate her privacy and distribute her private images. We are absolutely disgusted. This is a massive breach of trust and a violation of the law. We are currently in the process of contacting the police to file a criminal report and are initiating a civil lawsuit. If you value your privacy, your data, or your safety, STAY AWAY from this store. They are predators, not technicians.

    Long-term customer of Virgin Mobile, contacted customer service today. This interaction has…read morecompletely turned me off of using Virgin Mobile services. Ever. Virgin Mobile was extremely unprofessional, backtracked, and did not honour the guarantee from the customer service representative. Customer service sounds like they're operating overseas. Their prices are expensive ($80+tax for 12GB) relative to their competitors, less than subpar services are not warranted for the price. Their Customer Loyalty branch does the complete opposite of their intended purpose. I DO NOT RECOMMEND VIRGIN MOBILE, AND WILL NEVER USE THEIR SERVICES AGAIN. Find somewhere cheaper with better quality services and customer service. I've never been so frustrated and disappointed with a company and will be moving my loyalty elsewhere. Just because you're paying more does not mean that you will be getting better service. I heard that Bell or Rogers is good. Cancellation fee of contract will be equal to the amount that you will pay to ride their overpriced services out.

This proved to be a wise strategy as the first two stores that I called didn't have the phone in stock. When I called this location I spoke with the manager, Matt. He checked to make sure that the phone was available then offered to hold it for me. I very much appreciated that since this particular phone was hard to find. Upon my arrival, Matt took a considerable amount of time to explain the phone's functions to me and answered my questions. I was concerned about the high cost of the phone cases but I didn't want to take it out in the snow unprotected. Matt found me a case that was on sale and knocked an additional $5 off the price. Sold. He gave me his card and offered to answer any questions that might arise over the next few days. I didn't avail myself of his assistance, but it was a kind gesture. I have been generally quite pleased with Virgin's customer service in the three years that I have been with them. I was prepared to jump ship when my last contract expired, but no other wireless company could match their plan's features. Now I'm pleased with their in-store service as well.
