I got to catch The Steel Woods at The Caverns to ring in the New Year! This is my absolute favorite venue! If you ever have an opportunity to attend a show here DO NOT PASS IT UP! Acoustics are amazing! Super friendly staff to make sure you are taken care of! Security was on point but not over the top! My only complaint is that it isn't closer to my house! We attended the PBS recording at The Caverns in 2023 and 2024. We had such a nice experience the first time, we came back to do it again this year. Sadly, our second visit was terrible and we will never return. Here is why... 1. Arrived to camp at 2;30pm. Campgrounds opened at 3pm. One side of road had no parking signs while the other side did not. We and many others lined up on other side of road. Employee arrived at 2:45pm only to yell "you can't park there"and " you are lucky I am here early to let you in." No welcome. No happy festival. Just bad vibes. 2. Only ten campers in the entire festival campground that holds thousands. What happened? Last years camping was more attended. Perhaps the bad vibes stopped folks from returning. 3. Woman employee approaches our campsite to say no one in the entire festival campground paid for a three-day camping pass. Additionally, she went on to say camping is $150 per night. She made us feel like deadbeats and losers. At this time, we showed her our three-day camping pass purchased from The Caverns website costing $150 for three-nights camping in black and white. She simply replied by throwing her bosses under the bus saying they want to overcharge everyone for camping because the EDM campers have deep pockets so should everyone else. From $150 for three nights to $150 per night... yeah, right. Later while talking we realized she was the same person who yelled at us when we first entered the campground. Sheesh. 4. Day 1 and 2 of the concert, we walked along a trail from the camping area to the concert venue. Everyday, we went through security and let in. On day 3, we were told go way up the road to the day parking lot and get to the end of the GA daily entry even though the doors had opened. We explained we were campers and how security let us through in day 1 and 2 after the doors were open without going into the GA daily line. Chris the rent a cop (complete with a gun on his hip) told us to go to the end of the GA daily line. My son complied and went to the back of the GA line way up in daily parking. I stood leaning on the wall due to my cancer disability. Once my son reached the front of the GA line, I attempted to join him to proceed through security. Chris placed his right hand on his gun and told me I didn't wait in line and I couldn't go in. I explained that I was ADA. He went on to say he was not going to let me in at all. We (including the other concert goers) all stood there in shock. Then out of the blue, Chris said I could go in after 8-more people following my son. Why the magic number 8? There were still approximately 50-people newly arrived still in queue. It makes no sense. It was terrifying having a man with his hand on his gun making threats and demands of you. I was shaking. My son experienced an anxiety attack. We went into the concert and made a complaint to the manager. A woman guest who observed the entire incident walked over and confirmed the situation with the manager. The manager was very nice and apologetic. She offered us swag. The genie had left the bottle. Both my son and I were wrecks. We declined the swag and walked sadly back to our camp site missing the entire last night of bands. Takeaways: 1. Camping needs to open earlier. Arrival at 3pm with a doors/show at 6pm is unreasonable. You barely get camp setup then you are running a sweaty mess to the concert. 2. Hire employees with a welcoming festival spirit. We have many festivals to choose from. I will not be returning to yours. Bad Vibes. 3. Do not hire over zealous, gun touting, angry men to provide your security. Chris is a bully and a thug. He should never be allowed to work at your venue again. This incident must be reported to his employer. 4. Invest in marketing. No one wants to go to a three-day camping festival with only ten other campers. Why didn't campers from last year return? Perhaps the vibe? 5. You should refund the cost of two (2) concert tickets for the 3rd night to my credit card on file. My son and I were so triggered there was no way we could enter your venue. read more

Unique, cool (literally and figuratively) venue for live music. The sound is good, the staff are really helpful in directing folks around the space. Really glad I tried it out a few months ago! Definitely worth going at least once. Be prepared for gravel parking lots and narrow drives. Wish I'd driven my truck there. But it's all good. Leaving the area late at night, get ready to wait (unless you pay for premium parking) for the lots to empty out to the narrow road and watch out for wildlife. Definitely worth trying out an event there. I may consider staying overnight and car camping next time since it's a nice area with nearby sites to see. read more

My only tiny drawback is that there is limited cabins/yurts, houses, or grocery stores in the area. It's pretty remote and they don't have water hookups for RV's so just prepare for that. My husband and I came here to see Lotus and we were not disappointed. The set was amazing, but the ambiance was really wonderful. I read somewhere that the walk to the cave was a hike but it was not bad at all. It was on a gravel road. The immediate parking lot near the venue is small, so I recommend arriving early enough that you can park there. The box office is in a barn thing that has a bar as well as merch. I also read the average temperature in the cave is 56. In July, it was probably more like mid-60s. I wore jeans and a t-shirt and was very comfortable. I brought a cardigan but didn't need it. I do recommend wearing practical shoes though. The entire floor is paved, but it does still get slick/muddy anyway. The caverns does offer food. When we went, they had a turkey sandwich, pulled pork sandwich and a veggie burrito. I got 2 turkey sandwiches for us since Pelham doesn't really have any food and the cave is in the middle of nowhere. It was literally turkey, cold (but cooked) bacon, and cheese on sliced wheat bread. They were $8 which was steep. Beers were $7 or $8 for tall boys and craft beer which was to be expected. The staff was extremely friendly. Bathrooms were fine but some spots got extremely slick due to the mud. This venue is absolutely something everyone should experience! Depending on who they book, we would like to come back, even though it was an 8 hour drive. read more

This is an incredibly unique venue to see a show at. The acoustics in the cave are excellent and they have a great bar. The seats were a bit close together, but I suppose that is to be expected with a concert-in-a-cave. I recommend taking the cave tour beforehand for a good rundown of the local history of the place and some interesting cavern sights. Saw a St. Patrick's Day concert at the Caverns and my only real critique would be that there was only one food truck and it was fine, not great. read more

CaveJam was an unbelievable festival. This year was the first one. Can't say enough good things about it. The people, staff, the scenery, the mountains, the vibe... all first class. We did the VIP pitched tent and it was absolutely perfect. Taking the cave tour during the day was a lot of icing on the cake! Me and my buddy Mike already can't wait to go back next year. This is one of my favorite experiences I have had in a while. A friend and I went to the caverns for subterranean music festival headlined by papadosio and we were blown away by the organization of the festival, the beauty of the campgrounds, and what you get with VIP. We stayed at a beautiful yurt which came with a yurt and VIP concierge. I was provided with extensive information before the festival even started about what to expect, and who to contact if I have any questions. Every patron of the music festival was so kind as well, the amount of people giving compliments and offering to take photos for us was amazing. Even the vendors were kind and amazingly talented. The cave itself is a magical experience that is truly unbeatable. I hope to go to the caverns year after year, as it is truly more than a venue. There is so much to do around the area as well. Absolutely magical and worth a trip. read more

My husband and I just visited The Caverns for our first time to see Of The Trees for two nights. It is easily the most beautiful music venue we have ever been to, and we had the most wonderful time. We camped on-sight and the grounds were beautiful. Not to mention, the food vendors they had were all amazing! We got Drip Chicken the first night, and then food from a southern cooking truck the second night. Both places were so amazing we couldn't even pick a favorite meal. Campground area very flat, easy camping & walking! Only critique would be that the campground should really have a source of water if they're going to allow campers to have their own fires. Even a non-potable source for proper safety & fire extinguishing should be available. Was very surprised fires were still allowed with an ongoing draught. read more

Really really impressed with this venue and probably the coolest show I've ever been to! We didn't know what to expect but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see Jimmy Eat World and Dashboard Confessional inside a cave! Their website has an FAQ which was super helpful in preparing for our trip. It was an especially cold day but the site advertises that the caves maintain a temperature around 59 degrees all year. We bundled up to get to the show, but to my surprise it was correct! The inside of the caves were the perfect temperature for a concert. There is not great service out there so be sure to download or print your tickets ahead of time and be sure you have a DD to get you out to the venue, but the parking process itself was no problem and getting in and out was a breeze. Security and ticket check were also run really well and we got through quickly. They had a great drink selection and everything was reasonably priced with quick service. It didn't seem like there was a bad spot in the house, but this was a GA show so get there early if you want to be close to the stage as everything was standing room. We were about 3/4 of the way back in the caves and could see everything. Sound quality was also great. The artist room is not next to the stage so the bands have to walk through the crowd to get on and off the stage, which was really cool that we could see them so up close. This was my stepdaughter's first concert and I don't know how we'll ever top it! read more

Wanting to come here for a show ended up starting a much longer journey, so I have to credit The Caverns and this band I love for starting something special for me. The venue is everything you'd hope, it manages to be an intimate spectacle. The multicolored lights against the cavern walls and the unique sound that reverberates across the rock is an immersive sensory experience unlike anything I've ever experienced. There are two bar areas and they move fast, I never had to wait more than a few moments for a drink and the staff were so friendly. It seems like they really enjoy working there. The temperature starts out cold but if you get moving you won't be chilly for long. I paid for actual seats only so I would have somewhere to rest my stuff, but if you're seeing a band you move to it's not necessary. Bring a jacket if you plan on parking it the whole show. The space isn't very big and they don't oversell the tickets so getting a good view isn't hard. They have a painted school bus that drives you from the parking lot to the venue, an extremely short but fun ride. Bathrooms are also big so the line always moved fast. They also happened to be filming a PBS Bluegrass Underground episode that night which was really cool to see and experience. I'm sure they cut out how animated the crowd got for one of the bands. Just know that the polite clapping they air is not the whole story, the Caverns can throw down in the best way and still keep it classy ;) read more

The caverns concert group moved to a new cave within the last 1-: years. My husband and I just attended a concert (Saint Paul and the Broken Bones) - it was a great time, and the concert venue was awesome. We booked the Stay & Cave VIP package which in hindsight made us feel like friggin geniuses! Very nice Motor coach transportation, personal liaison assigned to our VIP access, included food, lots of merchandise and we jumped the line and were able to enter the cavern first - had about 10-15 min in the cave before any one else - and included our reserved spot up front. The venue acoustic were crisp and clear, and the despite being sold out it didn't feel overcrowded - it only holds 1200 peeps when it's standing, so not a mega crowd to deal with. Bathrooms were really nice and clean, lines to the food, drinks and merchandise moved fast - never a long wait. Staff was super friendly. We'll definitely return- was a great show and a super fun and interesting venue! read more

You drive down dark roads with no illumination and very little visible siding. Cache the area in your mapping app before you head there because once you're near the place you can kiss your data goodbye. Parking was plentiful. The attendants seemed to actually care and asked us had we been there, mentioned a few things, noted my wristband was too tight and offered to replace it. The cave isn't very far in. It can start out cold and end medium warm, or it can just stay cool and in the 60 degree range. There are few bad places to be, and my very short friends discovered going to the back of the cave allowed them to see over everyone. Bathrooms are in the cave, I've never seen a line for any of them. The place is large, not going to trigger claustrophobia, exit's always in view. Oh yeah, it's a WiFi-enabled cave so you can do things since you're not going to have service. (some of us have kids and are on call 24/7) Things to note - once the concert lets out everyone there is going to have to drive out on the same barely two lane road, in the dark. Some with no working GPS. There's at least one area that looks like a 4-way stop on the way out that is only a two way stop. Don't be that impacted dude. read more

We decided to take a spur of the moment day trip to see The Caverns (we live in the Atlanta metro area). We purchased tickets online Saturday night and booked the first tour Sunday morning at 9 AM. There was a big concert/festival the previous two days and to our surprise we were the only people that booked the 9 AM tour! We had the caves to ourselves! This was awesome!!! Our guide was Volley....and he was absolutely fantastic! Very knowledgable and super nice about taking some photos for us. Everyone we spoke to that worked here was very friendly. We definitely felt a friendly and positive vibe here. We definitely plan to return to see a concert in the cave! read more

The Caverns has become my absolute favorite place to see concerts! It's easy to get to from the interstate if you're traveling to the are, or if you're local you know how easy it is to access from the backroads too. My husband and I have been to countless venues and this one cannot be beaten-it doesn't matter if the show is at the amphitheater or in the cave itself-the staff goes out of their way to ensure you have a great show! The addition of The Caverns inviting local food trucks only adds to the venue. I've seen multiple shows here-Keller, Umphreys, Moe., Michael Franti, & The Infamous Stringdusters just to name a few. read more

Ok, I've seen thousands of shows. And been in hundreds of venues. This is likely the best one I've ever been in. It's neck and neck with Dillon amphitheater in Colorado. They're both magical for different reasons. You're in a cave! Entering it feels like the abyss. Down a long slope and staring at the walls of the cave.... then you get inside and it's misty and cool and the acoustics are amazing. You're underground! This would likely be enough to make this an awesome experience. But I really came here because the staff were so utterly amazing. I interacted with at least 20 folks over a 3 day run - from bar staff, to hospitality, to the guys in the parking lot, to even security, they were bar none all the best people in the world. I was in the middle of conversations sometimes thinking I was just talking to fellow fans of the band, and they turned out to be staff! I don't know if they have a written mission statement, but everyone had this point of pride and the same joy where they all seemed to know that they were working in the coolest music venue on earth. Pride and joy exuded from all of them in a real genuine way. We spent a lot of time with Christy/Kristy who really went out of her way to make sure we felt comfortable and at home the entire time. She gave us the best customer service I've had in a long, long time, but I feel like there were dozens of other folks working there that would've done the same. This place felt like home. That my favorite band on earth was playing there for the 10th time means I know I'll be going back. I'll never miss them there. And I'll likely make the couple hour drive for plenty of others. My husband and I recently went to a multiple night concert at The Caverns and we had an amazing time. The venue is absolutely beautiful, both the Caverns and the above ground amphitheater, as well as the campgrounds and surrounding area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Christy, the House Manager. She was so sweet and accommodating when my leg was hurting me during one of the shows. It was very clear how much she cared for the fans, by checking in on me and making sure I was having a wonderful night. This really went a long way for us, and made the weekend even more memorable. We went on the walking tour with Laylen as our guide. He was very informative about the caves and it's history. Interesting adventure.

I loved everything about this venue except for the smoking section that one cannot avoid because it is the path to the entrance/exit to the cave. I was shocked at intensity of the smoke that was stuck hanging over the entrance and by the end of the night I was struggling to get a fresh breath of air. We reeked of cigarette smoke when we got home. It's 2024 and we know smoking and second-hand smoke are toxic and dangerous. Please move the smoking section away from the cave. read more

The best thing that ever happened to this area of Tennessee. We are loyal music event goers and have been to the Caverns a couple of dozen times. The atmosphere is fantastic. We really enjoy the amphitheater as well. There is plenty of room to roam around. Great selection of food and drink s are being served. They have really upped their game. The music offerings are diverse and can suit any taste. Even though we go for the Bluegrass don't be fooled, they have Electronica, Rock, Country and everything in between. Looking forward to the Bluegrass Festival and Cave Fest once again. read more

Their website says they are open 7 days a week. I came on a Tuesday at 3:30. I drove 2 hrs about $60 in gas to get there and the place was dead and doors were locked. I thought y'all closed at 5? So says your website. I called multiple times to confirm before heading that way but no one answered. Couldnt get in touch with anyone. Wasted my time & money. I guess y'all just close up whenever you feel like it. read more
