I was in the same government job for almost 8 years and feeling extremely stuck. I knew I needed to make a change and after a friend referred me to me,and I decided to reach out to Argus Academy for a consultation. It turned out to be one of the best career decisions I've ever made. From the first conversation, August made me feel comfortable and supported. He took the time to really understand my goals and concerns, and then developed a personalized plan to help me achieve them. He walked me through everything from hidden gems around networking, resume upgrades, interview support to negotiations. I learned that I had an incredible amount of experience and value, but I was unaware of how to navigate the rigorous job market potholes, and how to get my foot in the door of my top companies strategically. I literally called him after every interview (3 rounds) and he was right there for me to advise and guide me on next steps. Ended up getting a 30k bump + stock options and bonuses, which I am so incredibly grateful for to have both gotten out of that role and into a well-respected firm with a MUCH better culture. I can't recommend August and his talents highly enough. I truly don't think I would be where I am today without his incredible support and expertise around networking and succeeding in this difficult job economy we're in right now. THANK YOU, AUGUST!!

And,…read moreafter working with Lauren versus working through finding my own career path on my own (for free!), I am writing this review to let others know that your money is better spent on things to help you over the hump! I paid for four months in advance for her coaching at a rate of 595$ per month. Because I was extremely depressed in my job at the time, I missed out on going to two months of coaching sessions. This is to be up front and direct that my review is based on going to only two months of sessions with Lauren. I did not "schedule and cancel" any appointments - but rather did not schedule the sessions at all. I understood that she would still take the payment, but for her to accept $1,200 in fees when her client was depressed and underwater felt a bit unethical in my point of view - and I just want to share it for others who might be interested in seeking real help for their struggles - that these are the terms and conditions you sign up for. The actual coaching sessions were quasi-helpful, but I really did not receive support or any actionable steps to analyzing my own situation. The parting advice I got from Lauren was "Think and sit for a while with what you are good at and what you like to do, and go from there." She also went through my values - having me highlight things from both of these columns. I've gained so much more from people like Tim Ferriss or Tony Robbins or Gretchen Rubin -- and those services are things that are offered for free. Tim Ferriss, in particular, offers an 80-20 analysis that is most useful for anyone who is struggling. I am now in a dream job overseas and am working hard to do right by it, but the experience with Lauren stuck with me. I really wanted to share this with others so they can make a more informed decision when they are struggling in choosing the right career for them.
