We've experienced both home visits and office visits for a cat and a dog and been more than impressed with the service. Chris is our primary veterinarian and he is amazing, but we've also worked with Mel and she is equally great. I would recommend this clinic wholeheartedly to any animal lover.

Awful reception who doesn't have a care for you or your pet if you are under the age of 50!…read more Received a postcard reminding me that my Healthcheck and Booster vaccinations were due, I promptly phoned up and booked an appointment, I asked explicitly if these services were included in the 'Animal care' direct debit I had already been paying over a year for, to which she replied 'Yes thats all included, I'll make a note of it for your appointment!" (She already had my details up on screen from booking my appointment) I arrived for my appointment, I was 15 minutes early but ended up waiting half an hour after my appointment time to be seen. The vet was pleasant enough but seemed to focus on selling us the Adult Healthcare direct debit, however she performed the services without trouble and with a smile on her face. We then left the vets room and the receptionist told us that it would be 41 pounds for that service, I told her that I had phoned up yesterday and asked if this services was included and that I wouldn't have come here if it wasn't as I was already unhappy with the service I received a year ago however I was tied into the direct debit. Her response was "Well I was here yesterday but I would have never have told you that" I recognized her voice and it was the exact same women. This is not the first time it has happened to me, and has also happened to another friend of mine when looking for care for her Hamster. This seems to be a common occurrence and a scamming tactic in my opinion. For 140 pounds a year I was to receive '1 Pet healthcheck in a years time'(yeah not the one I had to pay on the day for?!?!) -30 pounds ( I asked how much to book it separately and it was 20 pounds?!) Advocate flea removal - 95 POUNDS?! It is available on amazon for 24 pounds?! Drontal worming tablets - 15 pounds? Available on amazon for 4 pounds! Overall, ridiculous pricing made for the un-informed customer, awful service from the 'larger' receptionist who targeted my girlfriend who was with me at the time and not me, the paying customer and pet owner. Absolutely disgusting will not return. Have contacted 'Epsom Road veterinary clinic', they have made me feel like a valued customer since the first contact, and also have cheaper pricing! AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF! Edit - Forgot to include they also stock the cheaper version of 'Royal canine' which does not have the same ingredient that they used to have, they buy it for cheaper and sell it to you at the same price. They sell pet accessories like cat flaps, toys and food and offer clinics for specific issues like immunisation and fleas! used this vets when my cat needed emergency treatment and they were great, helping me to complete the pet insurance claim too. STUDENT UNSUPERVISED TRAINING GROUND, NO PROFESSIONALS BE WARNED, REAL BAD SERVICE…read more I pay top money for a professional vet to see my kitten but all they seem to have is a different unsupervised student attending to my kitten every time i go there, never a fully qualified specialist. They prescribed eye drops for my kitten which are dangerous for her, luckily i changed my vets in time after becoming suspicious. Therefore i have changed my vets to an independent vet just down the same road called Cape veterinary clinic who are brilliant and i get to see the same vet every time with over 12 years experience. My kittens eyes were in a bad way for 2 weeks due to them giving her the wrong medicine. The new vet gave me a different medicine and she was better in less than a day. The vet that gave the wrong medicine to my kitten looked no older than 22 and she was definitely a student and she was not even being supervised and just making up her own mind and giving out eye drops which could have caused my kitten to have severe problems.

Even as Fluffikins tries to tear Kevin's (chief fluffy-whisperer at AV) face off, he is gentle, practical and works round individual circumstances to find solutions. And when it comes to the difficult decisions I know their priority is doing the right thing by my pet. It's an aspect we don't like to think about for obvious reasons but it's a really vital one, and I trust every vet in this practice to guide me to the right decision. Then mop up the bawling. Tl;dr Fantastic practice; kind, helpful and trustworthy. Couldn't be better. PC.

Never was the suggestion made that as it was only a hen why not put her down, she was treated as though she was an expensive pedigree. If you have poultry or any animal, you will receive fantastic service from all the staff here

Th only veterinary practice i would trust with my animals…read more Spinney Hill vets have seen us through the death of a hamster, death of a cat, birth of four kittens and all teh jabs and assessments in between. All of the vets and the practice nurses are extremely helpful and kind and I get the feeling that they genuinely love their jobs. There is plenty of parking available and although the waiting room is quite small (make sure your pets are securely caged or on leads) the appointment system seems to mean that there are never more than two people waiting at any one time.

On the whole they are friendly and helpful but have found that on occasion the phone is answered by someone (a nurse I believe) who is offhand and difficult. Longer opening hours would be an advantage, as would weekend cover by the same practice. It is a cosy little place, can often be very busy and disorganised, and the waiting room carpet reeks of dog, I always find myself wondering why it doesn't have a washable floor.
