What's is going on with their parking situation? I'm visiting today / Sunday, and spent over 20 minutes going in and out trying to find a parking spot. I gave up and left. There is a person handling valet parking charging $20, and marked the 20ish parking spots at north Baker St entrance as valet only. I am watching him keep moving the cones and taking more self parking spaces and claim them as valet as they become available, and move the valet cars into these spaces. While keeping all the spaces closer to Baker St entrance empty. The usual self parking spaces got reduced significantly say 50%. What a ripoff. read more

I love the shops here. I always come for 2nd street and boba guys , however I always have a bad experience with parking.

I love the Camp. It's a small little plaza that has restaurants and shops for your outdoor, clothing, accessories and gift needs. Although a little pricey, it's still a great area to take a friend and visit. They offer a variety of restaurants: wine bars, Italian, Vegan and Vegetarian, burgers, desserts, tacos, tea & coffee, and of course my favorite bakery (Blackmarket Bakery) for my chocolate chip cookie needs. But what makes this place really special are all the little areas to sit throughout the complex. Parking maybe difficult at times here, but I love grabbing some food to-go and sit at a more private area within the plaza. The landscape is well taken cared of, it has that outdoor campy feel, and they are absolutely dog friendly. Which is a bonus for me ;) Each parking space has a word or phrase that reflects love, calmness, reflection and perspective. It's a nice reminder for everyone to just make a moment for one's self. Oh my, the Camp is in-tents. Grab your exploration buddy and head on over to this campground themed shopping center in Costa Mesa. The Camp features outdoor-esque decor and a variety of shops filled with food, clothing, and plants. Some shopping not much though- Patagonia - for the outdoor peeps, Purre Boutique- 2nd Street (second hand clothing w/ high end designer as well.) For all ya'll "Herbivores" or vegans They have a Native Foods Cafe here too! What about the Meat eaters- Unami Burger is to the right of the parking lot. This is a great place to relax and have a glass of wine at The Wine Lab. Love the vibes of this place. They have some cute shops and a great variety of delicious food/drinks.

What a great outdoor food and shopping plaza! We don't venture out to OC that often, but my friend suggested The Camp for a brunch meetup on a recent Sunday. It wasn't too crowded and we found parking right away. There were many outdoor tables scattered everywhere, and the 6 of us all found some delicious food to share. We got take-outs from: Blackmarket Bakery (sandwiches, cookies & coffee), Milk + Honey (acai bowl, cold brew & latte), Native Foods (vegan burger and cookies), and Vitaly Caffe (Italian food and gelato). As you can tell we had amazing time here with delicious eats with great company while catching some vitamin Ds! Definitely pet friendly we had two dogs and even a cat in a backpack at our table. They also have a few spots for photos that's perfect for your Insta! Definitely will be back to do some more eating and shopping too! read more

Awesome little place that has such a great vibe! Earthy, rustic, outdoorsy, hip, thoughtful, with a mix of small businesses, shops, and restaurants. Parking is tight but there's a few lots to park and valet also. I wish this place was bigger to walk around because the whole atmosphere and design is beautiful! They should expand if given the chance. Lots of places to take cute pictures if you're into that thing or even grab a bite or drink and just hang out with friends. Definitely have to come back and try Habana, an upscale Cuban restaurant with a huge outdoor patio, and Folks pizzeria. The CAMP is great. I loved coming here for a quick bite after work pre-pandemic. Hubby and I came back recently for a small dessert date at Vitaly and forgot how much we enjoy it here. First off, the parking here is horrible which is why I had to knock down a star. We came here at 5:10pm and there was nearly no spots available. We circled around twice until we got a spot. Part of the lot was closed off because there is a small patio/dining area that was made on the far end of the parking lot. Nonetheless, the food options here are great and the vibe is awesome. I used to grab a glass of wine from the Wine Lab and enjoy a gelato dessert over at Vitaly. Taco Asylum is gone, but they had some really delicious and unique tacos back in days. Old Vine Kitchen is a solid brunch spot here too. Hubby and I loved our visit here. We really enjoyed the vibe and just had a great time overall. We also love that The CAMP is very pet friendly. We brought our little pug along with us and he had a blast. read more

Visited CAMP for a birthday trip, and it did not disappoint. I got to make my own charm bracelet for the first time which was so fun. The thrift store is massive and very well organized. There's so many places to eat, and the granola/outdoorsy aesthetic is like a giant REI/ Patagonia store. 12/10 in my book. read more

I've used to stop by here the Camp for brunch mostly "Black Market bakery" and went shopping to South Coast plaza across on weekend. I love this vintage mall not big but cozy, I can relax. They have some clothing stores like Seed People's Market, bakery, Vitaly having gelato and some brunch menu, brunch cafe called Old Vine cafe, burger, taco and vietnamese noodles and etc. I can hang out before I go to South Coast plaza. I'd like to recommend here to hang out for brunch on weekend. The parking is a little hard around 9 on Sat. Early is better and you can relax eating the foods and going window shopping. :) Today, we didn't have any problems for parking and waiting for the table. Awesome!! Parking can be horrendous on Fridays or the weekends so I usually just get valet! But the businesses there are very nice and it's a cool place to go thrifting and chill! read more

It can be fun if you can find parking. That is the real reason why I do not visit as much as I would like too. Parking lot is way to small, however they do offer valet but I am a big cheapo and refuse to pay. Otherwise I give this nice relaxing open mall 5 stars. I am in love with the wine-lab and ecco. Love the native medical California plant selection in the garden. One drawback is the restaurants do not have easy access to bathrooms. So if your bladder is the size of peanut this location is not for you because you will have to walk across the mall outside the garden walk. If you enjoy walking and you need a uni-sex bathroom this is location for you. read more

But please be careful in the TINY parking lot -- we got in a car accident from someone backing into us :( The CAMP has some big names like Boba Guys, Patagonia, and Umami Burger, but even more smaller businesses that are so much fun to check out! I especially loved browsing the little plant shops in funky vans and trailers. My friend and I split an IPA at Salty Bear Brewing and it was delicious. Love the message, love the environment -- check out The CAMP if you're in the area! But maybe come on a weekday where it's a little less crowded if you can. read more

Food is great and shopping is limited. Parking is a wild mess with stalls being way too small for any car. I decided to valet since I was running late and it's posted as $7. Fine. I pay when I got back to my car and I was asked if I wanted a receipt; I said no. I tipped in cash and went on my way. The problem I have is I checked my bank account days later and was charged more than the posted sign. If the price went up for valet and is no longer $7 as of late July 2022 please post the accurate price. If not bring enough cash to valet. EDIT: I've been notified by "a friend of the guy who runs valet" that valet is $7 CASH and $8 CARD. read more

Outdoor strip mall with a hipster feel. The parking spots have cool slogans printed on each spot. Parking is impossible on a Saturday afternoon but luckily valet was free. Dog friendly and in fact there were staff walking dogs up for adoption around the strip. read more

I really like this place, I was there 8 months ago, will go there again soon. Every year, if I am around orange county. I will go there. (Since I don't live around there anymore) I like the Old-vine restaurant there. Basically this eco-friend small shopping/food plaza is just very very "well designed". Very hard to describe in "words", you just need to go there and experience and feel it. It remind me like places in Berkeley. Very eco-friend, has stores selling yoga/upscale-sport-clothing. I like that inspiration steps to go upstair. There are some steps to go upstair, and each step has "word in it". So there are lots of great places to eat at the camp but the parking is a nightmare. They have added valet and many places validate. I have gone to pick up take out and haven't been able to park in the 10 minute to go spots because people are parking there to stay long term. I overall like the idea of the camp. It has a very hipster vibe with lots of outdoor seating. Bring your marshmallows and chocolate on a stick and make some smores. Pull up a chair cause this outdoor mall has a pit fire. This mall is a different than most. It's very earthy, outdoorsy, hippie. Nothing wrong with that, it's just different with a positive vibe. We came here late one night to try Vitaly (which I don't care for) surprised to see the earthy tones of well groomed landscaping and campground theme of this little mall. There are only a handful of stores here that include Umami, Vitaly, Milk + Honey, REI, Active and a few others. I was surprised to see an Airstream camper being used as a store with a greenscape patio. Innovative set up and theme. It's worth a visit if you're a local from OC or visiting. Let me start by saying I love almost everything about the CAMP from the organic setting to the motivational quotes on the parking spaces to the overall natural feel of the place, but the one thing I don't love is the horrendous parking. Practically anytime you come her the parking is non-existent and the valet parking for me is not an option as my visits here are typically quite brief and simply to grab a bite to eat and/or drink. I am beginning to become a huge fan of these small malls such as this for their unique blend of shops and eateries and the CAMP definitely delivers in this aspect. Me and my wife have become huge fans of Milk & Honey and have also eaten eaten at Taco Asylum and soon to visit Native Foods. The shops are unique as well and the whole place just has a genuine earthy vibe to it that sets it apart from the OC Mix or other similar settings nearby, I like the fact that they have the mailboxes setup to provide menus (although most are unfortunately typically empty) for the establishments in one central location as this allows me the ease of perusing various menus at once to decide where to go. I definitely have my eyes set on Vitaly, BlackMarket Bakery and Project Juice (formerly Ritual Juicebox) for future visits to try. Although I do not live nearby we try to stop by here when in the area for a quick pick me up and I am sure to visit many more times to come. They definitely should look into any options they may have to remedy the parking situation but space in the area is limited so I am not sure what they could do. We usually park at a shopping center on the other side of Baker and walk over due to this. The CAMP is definitely a cool little joint with a uniquely quirky feeling to it that may not appeal to everyone but is a cool place to stroll through or hang out for a bit. read more

They have menus in mailboxes, how cool is that! You can spend a couple walk arounds trying to figure out where you wanna eat, where you wanna visit, what you wanna do, what you feel like doing. You can meet your friends here (although you might want to rethink and carpool if you really wanna do that haha) They do have really busy parking, but if you do get a spot, you'll remember where you are b/c some of their spots have words on them. If I lived in Costa Mesa, then I would be here all the time. The theme of this shopping center is as if hipsters went camping with cute decor resembling a DIY Pinterest board. My friend and I spent a few hours here. We started off with brunch at Old Vine Café. Then, browsed through some of the stores. We got our caffeine fix at Blackmarket Bakery and a drink at the Wine Lab. Since we came early, parking wasn't a problem. When we left, valet was set up and difficult to get out since there were many cars trying to get in. It's a nice spot to do a little shopping and grab a bite to eat. read more

My first impression on the parking lot is that each space is designated to a certain business so you'll have to find a spot assigned to the business that you intend to patronize. Wow, this is close to impossible since there isn't many parking spaces available to begin with. After circling a few times and looking more carefully, I see that those messages are not for reserved spaces, but are some fun and hip messages, like "show up for life" or "use your vacation time". I'm sure I'm not the only one who get all confused by these messages at the parking spaces, but well, it only happens the first time you are there. The complex is rather unique and has a hipster feel to it. It houses a good variety of beverage spots, restaurants and shops. Most stores are smaller in size than those you'll find in a typical shopping complex. However, each store here has its special uniqueness and charm. Yoga. Native food. Go vegan. Drink wine. Taste gelato. Global cultures. Organic coffee. Go green. Be hip! A fun place to chill. A cool place that I'll certain revisit. read more

Basically I will go around 10:30 to avoid crowd, and have a nice walk with my pets. The restaurants usually opens around 11. Brunch style under the sun is usually my way to go. "The Camp" yells hipsters! 3.5 stars - Interesting concept. The one thing I really love about this place is the decor. SPOT ON. Stairs have words all over them, all menus placed in mailboxes for convenience, lights at night, metal chair seats on the bricks (and they're pretty comfy), tables outside, etc. Basically the Orange County "camping" experience. There are ample amounts of restaurants and stores surrounding the facility. PS. Some restaurants will deliver to you or come find you if you sit outside - just let them know wher eyou are! If you come during peak hours, parking WILL in fact be difficult. We ended up parking on the street - 5 minute walk. However, there is also valet parking for a minimal price of $3. Shared restrooms.. only two outside. Hot and stuff inside - yuck. read more

I've been here a couple of times now....... and while I wish it could be more often, I'm glad it's not more often. What I mean by that is...... Blackmarket Bakery. Whoooooa, is that place dangerous.... as in, too many wonderful, tasty things all with a very caloric price tag. I'm glad I don't live close by. There's also Old Vine Café, serving some delicious food with a nod towards Italy. Delicioso. I love the funky, rustic feel to The Camp, not to mention some very unique shops to stroll in and out of..... and perhaps buy something. Very cool vibe when walking through the Camp. I always enjoy walking around this place, it reminds me a lot of Colorado, with its nice rustic campy charm. If you've tried one place, there is always another place for you to check out. So far I have tried the following. I've been to the REED store...can't remember the exact name. Taco Asylum...very delicious beers and tacos especially if you're adventurous. Banh Mi...so tasty, so fresh, so delicious The juice place...can't remember it's name...really batting 0 here. But fresh and delicious Black Market Bakery...fresh and delicious, I purchased a Mango cake from here for myself and some co-workers for a themed open house we were throwing. It was so fresh and so delicious, and so light! Mesa...is an adventure of it's own as well. Awesome place to spend with friends, great drinks! Old Vine Cafe...this place is the best place I have ever been to for brunch in the OC since Colorado. I had the open face, and the bf had the rabbit mole...we were both a fan of it alL! This adorable place. Never knew how hipster OC can be. A little strange, but definitely a great spot to hang out at. Catered to the fun unique bakeries, coffee/tea shops, clothing stores, yoga studio, tattoo shop and restaurants. Parking can get difficult on busy weekends or week nights. But you definitely won't forget where you parked, if you remember to look down at the front of your space with fun words and statements. Reminds me a bit of the Anaheim Packing District. Maybe that's how they got their ideas from the CAMP. Great for kids. Have fun! read more

Came by here with my husband last night around 5:45 pm. We were really fortunate to snag a parking within the 1st 5 minutes of entering the lot. I can see how many Yelpers can complain about the parking, since it seems that there just isn't enough parking for the amount of cars pulling up into The CAMP. Just to let you know, there was valet service available when we came though. Anyways, this was my first time coming here. I have always passed this place when I used to work in Costa Mesa years and years ago but never had a chance to shop there. I didn't like that there were very few signs and had no direction to what stores/ restaurants were where. There are 2 sections of restaurants and we didn't realize that until after we walked around one section looking for a particular restaurant that we were going to have our dinner at (118 Degrees, located in the front part The Camp, where Unami Burger is at). So that is definitely a negative (-1 star for that). But I do like the look of this shopping/ dining area. It has this hipster like and laid back vibe and I also liked seeing some of the random decor. Unfortunately Blackmarket Bakery was closed after we had dinner, oh well, next time then. But I still ended up stopping by Native Foods Cafe to pick up some dessert to go. I would like to come back to this place and try out another restaurant (and hopefully that bakery too). But I will probably come on a weekday during the day so I don't have to deal with any parking issues. Oh and real random, but the public (unisex) restaurant that is towards the back (passed Native Foods Cafe and Old Vine Cafe) has pretty cool tile.
