The have individual spinning wok style cookers that they do each bowl in. You start with the carbs, various noodles and other base options. Rice options not visible but available in white and brown. Turn the corner and the veggie and fruit selection is pretty big. Dial it all in and they add two meat choices. Add a topping and tell them HEAVY GARLIC!! Pay the bill, sit down and in just a few minutes your self designed master piece is at the table. You can go easy (lazy) too and pick from pre designed line ups that all look amazing. I got two pork options and my wife got shrimp. We both got a lot of meat, my wife said a few times "he gave a lot of shrimp". This spot is not super close to home for me but I have a feeling we will be making this trip often. I recently revisited with a friend and am happy to say that it's just as good as I remember! There's both indoor and outdoor/patio seating and it's pretty spacious. I really like the vibe because depending on the time of day, it gives both a casual brunch vibe and a classy dinner vibe. For food, we started with the garlic parm fries with truffle aoli. They were sooo good and fragrant! They're also really long and skinny and crispy, aka one of the best fry cuts. For my main, I got the fried rice with medium rare ribeye. The fried rice was already good on its own and seasoned well, but the steak was also perfectly cooked and delicious! My favorite part is their green sauce that is so addicting. I could probably eat it with anything honestly! It has the perfect balance between creaminess and spice and I LOVE it. The portion was also huge and I ended up getting to enjoy it again the next day. I'm so glad I revisited this old gem because I forgot how good it was after all the hype from the newer Kei Concepts restaurants!

NEP has a ton of parking outside, and offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I really loved the interior of the restaurant, there's a few different sections with different vibes while still maintaining that modern feel throughout. The staff were all SUPER friendly, which I really appreciated. Vibes and Service were both top notch. On the food front unfortunately, there's certainly room for improvement. The chicken wings were VERY salty courtesy the fish sauce, I wish that the chili and garlic could be tasted but the fish sauce overpowered the dish (the wings were also on the dry side which didn't help). The seafood ceviche was very bright and refreshing, my main critique is the use of shrimp chips vs. a rice chip, as the shrimp chip adds a salty element that kind of overpowers the dish IMO. The garlic noodles were delicious and probably my favorite item, but the shrimp it came with was bland and more of a hassle to eat than anything. I'd recommend they removed the shells or did a better job marinating the shrimp so that it actually had more flavor than just being an oily mess to eat. I will say, everything was visually appealing, but the flavors just weren't there unfortunately. I would like to revisit again and try some other items next time, because NEP does have a ton to offer. I wouldn't necessarily recommend any of the items I had today, but I'd certainly give this place another shot.

Once this resolved, the meal proceeded to be more pleasant. We started with the tom yum cucumber - a hit with family with its pungent fish sauce and tang. The dish paired nicely with the crunchy peanuts although we did wonder if the overpowering flavors of this made it hard to enjoy some of the other dishes later. The wings were decent - a generous, slightly Asian variation of buffalo wings. The charred beets were the best beet dish we've had - the smokiness paired with the incredible natural sweetness of the beet itself was such a delightful surprise - they almost tasted like a sweet potato. The fresh wasabi was an excellent subtle pairing for this dish, not at all spicy, just added the perfect herbal undertones Fiddleheads and speck was the most disappointing, it felt like something was missing, perhaps it was the low acidity in comparison to the other dishes. The fiddleheads also had an difficult astringency to them and was essentially 95% fiddlehead to 5% speck. The spring onion pancake was also disappointing - ours was soggy which made the soft on soft falvors with the trout schmear not so appetizing. Flavor was good but we wanted more textural contrast. Iberico pork secreto was delicious - an amazing piece of meat. This, however, could benefit again from a more flavorful sauce. We ended up dipping this meat into the tom yum cucumber sauce above (see other wayward comment above). We finished with the red bean cinnabon dessert hich was tasty - not too sweet, although we wished the red bean flavor came through more. It comes beautifully presented in its own mini skillet. Unfortunately, the pieces that naturally stuck to the side in the skillet had a pretty strong metallic aftertaste that was quite unpleasant. Would not order this again unless the plateware was changed.

My lunch experience with my coworkers was fantastic and everyone enjoyed the food at Nep. We ordered a few dishes to share: fried calamari, chicken wings, broccolini, garlic noodles and filet mignon, chicken and sticky rice and chicken rice porridge. We ended it with a dessert of mango and pandan sticky rice. Each dish was bursting with different flavors and textures. They are all plated beautifully. I loved all of it! We ordered a little bit of everything and it all was amazing. The food came fast and hot. Wish we could have had a bigger table because we had way too many plates. Only downside if you had to go to the restroom it's downstairs by a little food court in the mall so I thought they were going to be dirty but surprisingly they were clean and well taken care of. Over all we had a great time and Hendry was great and gave my daughter a birthday dessert without us telling him anything. He over heard us congratulating her. I would definitely go back! Oh I gave it four stars only because the inconvenience of the restroom be separated from the restaurant.
