Quite an unique hidden place in OC. Yes it busy in the weekends and holidays and parking can be Hectic. But once you got a parking and walk into the camp, it just purely cool vibe, unless holidays or weekend since foots traffic is abit overwhelming. But at every walkways, corners, or turns, there is something unique and different either with different structures, water fountain, painting, seating patio or something eye catchy. The vibe is just chill and calm (except holidays). Plenty of option of shops restaurants and coffee places. All are unique and independent and once of a kind.

The Camp is an interesting little mall that feels more like a retreat where you can sit and relax while surrounded by beautiful plants. They have a nice selection of stores and restaurants. I visited on a Tuesday evening and it seemed that many of the stores were closed. Some stores had signs that said coming soon. I read that parking would be difficult, but there was a significant amount of parking available on the day I was there. I think the mall is a must see.

After visiting the lab across the street we came here. The CAMP is a green, eco-friendly retail campus dedicated to an active, healthy lifestyle mindful of environmentalism. More like an outdoorsy little mall. Very cute with some restaurants love the decor. Coming soon a bar/ Mexican food restaurant. Would like to return for some pizza.

This place is SO cute and absolutely perfect for photos. Every corner at The CAMP feels thoughtfully designed and full of good energy. The CAMP is a green, eco-friendly retail campus dedicated to an active, healthy lifestyle, blending nature, culture, and community right in the heart of Orange County. Really late review. I was fairly new to Yelp in late 2013. Way back on 5/7/14, a few friends, my brother and I decided on a road trip from NoCal to SoCal. We rode in one minivan which made the trip super fun. We stopped by here to grab a bite to eat. I honestly don't recall the restaurant that we ate at. I'm not vegan. I had a vegan mushroom burger and that was delicious. I recall this place had unique shops and little eateries. It was a very busy day when we came. It's a great place to hang with friends. My experience here was great. Unfortunately, I lost most of my pictures from an old phone. I only have only have one available to post. I would love to go back again someday.

The CAMP in Costa Mesa is a retail area with shops and restaurant. The exterior is very interesting, combining metal, wooden features, and nature together. The stores are unique in that they focus on environmental and eco-friendly causes. The shops there seem to sell hand-made, sustainable, and purposeful products. For instance, they have a huge second hand store and local clothing/jewelry boutique. There's plenty of food and drink places. I got coffee from Vitaly before and would love to tried their restaurant menu. I thought the Taco Stand was okay. For drinks, there's Salty Beer, Boba Guys, etc. They used to have an awesome plant-based restaurant called The Plot, but that has since closed. Overall, this is a great hand-out spot. I recommend carpooling because parking there can be a challenge.

The CAMP (opened in 2002) is a retail campus with shops that focus on outdoor lifestyles. The LAB Anti-Mall is across the street and also shares the same hip vibe, but The CAMP has a very earthy and camp-like set up. [Parking]: While the shopping plaza has a designated parking lot, parking gets impossibly difficult during normal weekend business hours. [What to expect here]: The anchor store is probably SEED Peoples Market and it is a very rustic two-story tall shop. There's also a succulent shop (Organic Designs by Aggelige) and a second hand clothing store (2nd STREET USA). The CAMP also has a mini food court with shops serving boba (Boba Guy's), coffee (Vitaly Caffé), and Vietnamese food (East Borough). Visitors can also check out the adjacent sister plaza called Camp Out (just around the corner). Public restroom is available for all visitors. [Conclusion]: This is one of those shopping plazas you come for photo ops and not buying anything. I personally like The LAB Anti-Mall a little bit better than The CAMP due to better coffee shop, more spacious seating area, and more Instagrammable spots.

The Camp in Costa Mesa, is an outdoor shopping center with restaurants and shops. it's a unique, cool place with a great atmosphere, it's has a hammock, heart shaped swing, and plenty of areas to sit and chat with friends, dog friendly , has woodsy landscaping . The Camp has trees, ponds and meandering paths . It's not a big place , The Camp is a small, but it's nice to hang out here . The parking can be a little crowded at times, but they also have the option for valet . Last time I was paid $5 and tip . I like to come here.

i havent been to the camp in awhile, we were here for their pet-a-porter event over the wknd i was in the area and made a stop to check out the vendors just a handful of pet vendors i picked up some treats from pawlistic treats. they offer all natural, single ingredient and all dehydrated treats. but the camp has lots of food, drinks and shopping biz parking is a bit tricky, esp on the wknd. valet is avail also there is parking on the street on randolph ave and walk over

THE CAMP is very fun place to be...Its full of great restaurants for all the tastes and fee stores. Overall, the setting is chill and layback its a great place to meet a friend, go in a casual date. The only negative part is the parking. Its disaster. Im wondering for such a big area why the parking is too small!

This is a cool little place to go for food or unique shopping and a few bits and pieces of other retail that you don't see all over. I enjoyed my afternoon here but the parking on the weekend was enough of a nightmare to put me off of it for a while. there's not even street parking - I looped around the block at least 4 times and then made my way through the tiny lot about 6 times before I got a spot. also this place is not child friendly - no where to change a baby. :/ read more

One of the best places in Orange County! I just moved to Cali and this place became an instant favorite of mine and any out of town visitors I have! Every restaurant I've visited has been superb. The atmosphere is earthy and creative! The boutiques are interesting and unique! I would come here everyday for lunch or to just read a book if not for the horrid parking situation, otherwise I would consider this a 5+ star place you could visit alone or with a ragtag group of random friends/coworkers. read more

I love this place! I come here often and get banh mi sand which at East Borough, grab ice cream at Vitaly, and shop for goods at SEEDS. What I absolutely do not like and despise about this place is that they block off a quarter of the parking for valet. This is poor business practice because it complicates finding parking, which discourages shoppers because we feel compelled to tip valet for simply parking our cars when we could have done so if a third of the spaces weren't block off for valet. This practice does discourage me coming to The Camp on weekends and other peak times, such as lunch hour. read more

This place is a great little plaza, just feels like it was intended for hipsters though. The hipster vibe is definitely there. The steps are a tourist attraction, but it is absolutely beautiful at night. The tattoo parlor/piercing studio here is amazing. The cafe next to it was alright, kind of expensive. Lot of the places here are expensive but it's THE CAMP, so you shouldn't expect them not to be. read more

I just visited for the first time today after living in the OC for three years, and this place is AMAZING! You feel like you step into another world from the minute you park in a parking space that reads "Simplify" instead of a number. I had a great meal at Native Foods and browsed through some stores and just felt more relaxed on my drive back to work. Can't wait to go back! read more

Sunday brunch at the camp with the little lady. Love the rustic feel to this place. Parking is a pain, but valet is free!! A lot of people don't know about the free valet. Come early if you are here for old vine cafe. It's a long wait but there are plenty of places around to grab coffee, snack or shop. read more

Well, my car got towed from The Camp! The security guard said ,"I needed a receipt." I have no idea what he was talking about or where I would get a receipt. I did not see any signs anywhere. It cost me $250; I guess I will not be shopping or eating there again. read more

The camp is filled with adorable little shops and restaurants!! You HAVE to come and see it for yourself. I love it because it's not a huge mall that's tiring to walk instead there's a free flowing vibe and you can fall in to any of the amazing shops or restaurants! read more

Nice and cute little plaza with variety of restaurants and shops to shop and eat. I did not enjoy spending 15 mins to find a parking but I loved reading the parking spots unique names given and written on the asphalt. very creative. I also like the food at Mesa, though a tad pricey. Overall nice place to hang out and spend an afternoon with friends or family read more

i honestly love coming here, the shops are cute, the restaurants are eclectic. it's a sustainable, green friendly, shopping and dining architecture delight. but i HATE....absolutely HATE the parking here. i have driven here and left only because i could not find parking. seriously, screw all the reserved spots for valet and just let us park. read more

Warning: parking situation is terrible!!! Came early at 10a right when they opened and parking was completely taken already. Couldn't even find a space on the street or valet. What a nightmare. I went to The Lab all the time but never ventured across the street to The Camp. I thought it was a Sporting Goods store and was not interested. Then one day, i ran across the street and fell in love with the place. It feels like being at a campground with all the picnic tables and pine trees. East Borough is my favorite restaurant and Seeds has all kind of cool stuff to buy. The Black Market Bakery has very cool decor and good cookies/pastries. I love the t-shirts too. I love to sit in there with my coffee and much on their cookies. It's one of my favorite weekend hangouts. The only thing i would complain is the parking. Sometimes i park at The Lab and run across the street to The Camp. It's kind of scary since the street is wide. I don't recommend it but i love to go to both and it's easier to find parking at The Lab. I wish the city would put in a Stop sign or a some kind of cross walk for pedestrians. read more

The Bikram Yoga at The Camp is the worst ever. The place stinks, the morning instructor is mean, rude and does not care about the welfare of her attendees. The business owner has no customer service and no regard for the customer. Can you imagine being kicked out of class mid way through for having a major abdominal cramp and taking a sip of water? Then being scolded outside the room by the instructor again. Oh, then kicked out of the class because you explained to the instructor that you had an medical issue and did not appreciate being scolded. When was the last time you paid to have someone make you cry? Yes and no refund for you or your friend that carpooled with you. read more

Basically a strip mall for fancy people with a hippie heart. I'm giving 4 stars just because Native Foods rocked but the Camp has a disgusting bathroom. (especially by the raised beds-yes they have vegetables growing too!) Clean, interesting set up and filthiest bathroom. Why ruin it when you got a neat place going Camp??? read more

You wanna talk about a business going GREEN...This place was like being on a nature trail with retail. So much detail in the design/architecture of this property. Don't be surprised if you think you heard sounds coming out of what appears to be a rock. The food is really solid. I really liked my noodle bowl at FRAICHE Vietnamese Restaurant. More businesses around the country need to take notice of this concept. I loved the use of the AIRSTREAM. read more

One of our favorite venues for holding events, we have had the honor of hosting a few events here to the top open air rooftop at the CAMP to a small intimate private party at the delicious 118 degrees raw restaurant. The entire place has a very hip organic feel to it and brings in an a very conscious crowd, fantastic for the OC! The owners always seem to thinking outside the box in terms of how they promote the place. We need more 'Camps' in Orange County! read more

I LOOOOVE this place! I started and finished the challenge successfully and am now a member. IT WORKS! The staff and trainers are all so friendly and supportive and so are the other members. You get such an amazing workout in just an hour that would normally take a few hours at the gym . I was having a really hard time getting started with my weight loss journey but this place kicked it into gear. I am happier and healthier than ever and plan on continuing this healthy lifestyle forever. I feel AMAZING!!! Thank you to The Camp for changing my life and making this possible! read more

From the moment we walked in, the lead server, Jon, was unfriendly, which I could have overlooked, but his attitude became noticeably worse while seating us. Immediately after seating us, I saw him walk to the back, say something with a smirk to a coworker, and the coworker immediately looked over at our table. It honestly felt like we were being mocked, almost as if he had some kind of issue with me for no reason. The entire experience made me uncomfortable the whole time we were there, to the point where I honestly just wanted to leave. That said, I do want to mention that our actual server was kind and professional. Sometimes the experience matters just as much as the food, and this was a totally unnecessary and disappointing situation. I'd be happy to explain further if the owners would like to reach out.

She was getting me SO HYPED up about this place that I took time out of my weekend to drive 50+ minutes here for a visit - but I ended up disappointed. Of course, I know that Tik Tok are all over this place and there's a bunch of teens posing the same pose at the same spots for likes (like my daughter) so I am sure she had fun with her friends. However, I just wished they had more shops and restaurants for me to hang out at while the kids are in line to take their pics. Overall, I give a 6/10. (My daughter gives it a 11/10 but it's too bad she doesn't have her own Yelp account). Because I am a good mom (lol), I don't mind bringing her back here, but I personally think I'll have a better time shopping at South Coast a few blocks away. P. S. No admission charge. Free parking.

The Camp is a really cool place to walk around. It's small but packed with a decent number of shops and the whole place has a lot of personality. It's basically a personality-packed strip mall. The entire center has an earthy decor with lots of brown, cactus/desert type plants, and a wooden touch to most things. The culture of the place is basically "be green, be healthy, buy local, natural, drink water, do yoga, be nice, and give us your $$$$." The reason why I gave the place 3 stars is because the parking situation is just horrible. 1/3 of the already small lot was reserved for valet parking. By the time you park, you are most likely pissed off from all the rude people cutting, racing, and signal dueling for an open spot. Kind of ironic because the whole place is supposed to turn you into a flower picking hippie. While the parking is horrendous, the place is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. It has a lot of restaurant options. In general, a cool spot to hang with friends... if you can find parking. read more

is this place a freaking' joke? ................................................................sadly I don't think it is. there are actually 20-60 year old white couples ENJOYING these fake "campsites" and paying for $60 succulent sets? ain't nobody got time for that. stop buying rice bag backpacks from corporate stores (I'm calling Patagonia out... $100 for a "recycled cotton" tank top? iz u srs) and if you want to live greener and more sustainably, do things your fucking self. I'm not saying you have to open up your own independent winery or anything, but even if costa mesa is a concrete jungle you can find ways to start a garden for less than a week's worth of groceries. learn how to sew and learn new skills. that's what living sustainably is about, not being greenwashed and utterly gentrified by "The CAMP". I'm pretty sure one of the parking spaces at the end said "LULZ this is all bullshit you less-than-hipster heathens" ps I took a picture with the hammock without getting a photo pass. Hipocrates! There is this whole hippie vibe to the place and "inspirational" sayings in each parking space...but you can't read them all because at lunch when I wanted to go. They block off a large part of the parking lot for VALET PARKING!!! Which as you think about it is the most ELITEST thing one can do in a parking lot! AND it is the only place that has paking spaces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only the wealthiest of us are meant to park there! I'll be at Mother's where all the hoi poli can park. read more

It was the New year eve when I visited this mall with my friends. The mall is very well maintained for an upscale shopping experience, has all national brands, an art gallery and an awesome food court. There are shopping stores for each age group of a family with a trendy collection for the youngsters. I remember receiving many cards and gifts by participating in various events taking place here which added flavor to my new year celebration. It is also a nice place to go and walk around. read more

Valet parking is awful. They closed the kiosk before our restaurant did and I couldn't get my car keys back. Had to miss the first half of the work day and take two Uber's to get the keys. When I called Dan, the owner for the valet service, he was unhelpful and unsympathetic. He said it was my fault for leaving my car there for too long. Terrible customer service, not transparent about hours and uncaring when you call to ask for help. read more

I totally love this little plaza. I mostly come here for Umami and Milk+Honey. When the weather is warmer I like to have a burger at Umami and grab a drink at Milk+Honey and just walk around the plaza. They have other trendy restaurants and I think a few clothing boutiques. I also like how it is located right down the street from South Coast =) read more
