And their pies are fantastic! All are very reasonably priced. Their kolach cookies are moist and stuffed with good, sweet filling; they don't skimp here. I've been purchasing cookies, kolach, and nut roll from them for 5 years online. I finally was able to visit their factory in person. It's what you'd expect. Everyone in the kitchen is hand-rolling nut rolls and making cookies. Their pies are truly exquisite and filled with sweet peaches and apples. Their crumble crust is meaty and made with lard. Very good! If you're a hunky or just a wanna be Eastern European hunky, this is the ONLY place to go!

As luck would have it, I was going to be fairly close to Butter Maid, but the only store listed, in Boardman Ohio, is closed on Monday. But excellent customer service told me the FACTORY sells to customers and is not only open on Mondays but a dollar cheaper. Out I walked with 3 walnut rolls, 1 apricot roll, and the last pecan roll. They had other goodies, cookies, and pies, and I forget what else. But I already bought too much. They freeze well. I was glad I stopped. Austintown is close to Youngstown. Lots of flavors. When we walked in, I can't tell you how excited we were to see it in the cooler. The top book was chocolate and the bottom layer was lemon blueberry. The lemon blueberry layer was absolutely fantastic (I was too full for chocolate after!), great lemon flavor and a generous filling of a blueberry preserve. I enjoyed both the colored fondant and the butter cream frosting, and it was just the right amount. They helped us load and were super friendly during pick up.
