MY SAILOR NEVER GOT HIS COOKIE PACKAGE! I ordered 2 products. 1 military box 2 dozen cookies for my son, who couldn't be home with us for Christmas and we all miss him so much. I wanted my son to have something delicious and homemade to make him happy and feel like home.The 2nd thing I ordered was a donation box of cookies,which I thought would go somewhere else around the world to other military. I didn't realize all the cookies donted go to the military station close to the bakery in there in Ohio. So, that was a little disappointing. They probably see cookies often, unlike other locations throughout the U.S., I thought they'd spread the love a little. Back to MY Son's box of military cookies bought same day, same time, December 15th. It is now JANUARY 4th!!! My son still never received any delivery of cookies. So much for them being for Christmas. They missed New Years. Maybe ValentinesDay? IF they even ever show up. I know I correctly filled out his address. So that cant be the issue. I'm actually starting to wonder if it was a scam. As you can see the delivery attempt was not made until Monday 4/6/2026. I was promised the package on both Friday 4/3/2026 and Saturday 4/4/2026. It was only after the customer service center from UPS was closed on 4-4 2026 that they changed the delivery day until Monday 4/6/2026. I had to go look for the UPS truck delivering in my area and had a long conversation with him regarding my package. He said it was not on his truck and he could do nothing about the situation. I am from PA and so I was very familiar with these. My family is German and Hungarian. Then I moved to CA. We could not find anything like this there. From there we went to TX and now recently to MN. We have been ordering the nut and the apricot the most. We have tried other flavors but those two are our favorites. We always make sure we have them for the holidays! They freeze well, taste just like when you first received them. Their customer service is amazing! They are a little expensive but they do sometimes have discount codes. Definitely worth it. I've been ordering their treats for other people for about 3 years and finally said, hey what about me? So I had no idea what anything tasted like until a week ago lol. I originally ordered for a friend with Polish roots. I thought it was a cool idea to get her and her family the kolachi for Christmas. Sadly, they told me ZILCH about how they liked them. Moving on to the next year and I ordered them again but this time for my nuclear family. And again, not a soul told me how they tasted. Well, no one died so it must have been fine. I love the idea of baked goods made fresh and delivered. But when you mail order they rarely ever TASTE freshly made, except maybe from Etsy. Butter Maid Bakery breaks the mold. I ordered the lemon kolachi, the butter cookies (cuz I had to know what the heck is a butter cookie?) and the pecan cookie thingees that taste like mashed coffee cake. Every single one came out of the box like I just made it in my own kitchen. Amazing. The only thing I can say is I wish the kolachi were pre-cut. Especially the lemon is super messy and sticky - but delish! We really enjoyed having this cozy homemade experience that came to us from so far away from where we are. A treat! read more

My mother was the best baker.  She was Hungarian and boy the stuff that came out of her oven. Anyway I have long had a love of nut rolls and consider myself a connoisseur. When I returned to Pittsburgh,  it seemed that most bakeries had nut rolls. But the quality was on par with the local grocery chain, Giant Eagle. Acceptable but not something you want to spend too much on.The one exception is Jean-Marc Chatellier in Millvale. It is like Mom is in his kitchen. But sadly their hours often do not match the times I return to the Burg. With such a high bar, how could Butter Maid hope to compete? Still Pittsburgh is 2 months away and I want nut roll.  So I ordered from Butter Maid.  No, they did not reach the high bar I set, but of all the nut rolls places I have tried, they are a solid #2.  I am happy.  Furthermore, Butter Maid has a store close to my route in and out of Pittsburgh.  So I will be stopping and trying their other baked goods.  I think I will be in bakery heaven. The nut rolls arrived fresh, shrink wrapped but not squished.  Into the freezer they went, except for one tiny taste.  Filled with nuts, it was very very good.  The store can feel very proud of their product. I ordered a box of Chocolate Chip Cookies to be delivered to my Aunt in Arizona, They arrived and she sent me an email saying they were raw, and not to order her cookies anymore. I wrote to the company with this concern and they assured me that their ovens are set to a certain temp and that they are very rich cookies but certain they were not raw, they offered a replacement of something else and I decided to be a judge for myself and said great, send me the same thing I ordered for my Aunt. The cookies arrived today and I must say they were they best cchoccccolate chip cookies besides at home, homemade I have ever had.
