The self-checkout machines are awful. There is supposed to be an attendant, but the attendant is not always available to constantly deal with the machine. One manager I spoke to, who was running a conventional register, acted put out that I was complaining about this. I've experienced this now several times so if there is long lines at the conventional registers I will just move on out of the store and shop elsewhere. In fact if there are lines at the conventional checkouts when you arrive, my advice is to turn around and head elsewhere.

Sparkle carries a lot of basic items; however, there is not a very large selection at Sparkle. Some items I cannot get here and have to go to another store for them. Typically, this includes more of the healthier options and more specialized items that I use. I have also found that prices are usually a bit higher here than other stores. Overall, the Columbiana Sparkle is a great store. I always have a good experience because the store is kept so clean and organized, and staff is always very welcoming and friendly. I will go here to get a few basic items quickly when I don't want to drive to Boardman to go to a larger store, but ultimately I cannot get all of the items I need here. I would recommend visiting this store if you need basic grocery items.
