I've been enjoying The Buzz for years now! I eat breakfast/brunch/lunch there at least twice a month and have never had a bad meal. All the sandwiches are delicious and the salads are creative and very tasty. I'm not a 'sweets' person but I can never resist the 3 levels of brownies, cookies, cakes and cake pops that are beautifully displayed every day. I have enjoyed almost every treat I've gotten there! We tried this place as it was recommended by a friend, and it was about half way between myself and the person I was meeting. What a pleasant surprise! After arriving, and seeing a run of the mill exterior in a strip mall, went in to find the staff inviting and the food above average. I had the roast beef panini with bbq sauce, melted cheddar and bacon with ranch dill aoli. My companion had the breakfast strata with 1/2 a Love Boat salad. Came for breakfast the past two weekends. While they have a weekly specials menu, I get the feeling they rotate a couple dishes and then just rename the rest. Between two visits, breakfast was good for the most part. The chilaquiles and eggs benedict with mornay sauce were great. Never heard of this place until a few hours before I had a business meeting here (Lunch). My first impression was that the food and quality would be crappy. I saw that my friend had gotten a bowl of soup, so I decided to give that a try. I love soup but typically eat homemade only. Soup from restaurants taste fake. Well, not knowing what to expect, I took my first bite of the soup of the day: "Chicken Tortilla" and WOW. Besides my wife's homemade tortilla soup, this was the best soup I've ever had. Daughter had told me about this place for breakfast and I have been looking for a place near Damascus to to enjoy a good breakfast, drink coffee and read the newspaper. After going here, I guess I will keep looking. Nothing special about it, menu is limited, food was forgettable and service is less than average. It is essentially one small step above a deli you would find in a basement of an office building. While I like that coffee is served in a big mug, it went cold before I could drink even half and since getting a refill or warm up was not really an option due to the less than average service, well.... I heard good things about this place but I was not very impressed. The cafe is small, but cozy nestled in a shopping center. The coffee specials menu is pretty long with some interesting coffee drinks listed. Their food menu however is limited and has very little variety. We got their Georgia O'Keeffe salad (their only salad) and the broccoli cheddar soup. The salad was underwhelming with unripe mangos places on top of the spinach greens, pecans, and goat cheese with an flavorless dressing. Their soup was fine but nothing to write home about. Their baked goods are their high points with a well baked scone and sweet cinnamon roll to end our meal. Overall their coffee and baked goods are maybe worth your while but skip the food menu. read more

Went there today to get breakfast and ordered three eggs scrambled, bacon and toast. The eggs were cold and bacon was overcooked. I used to go there often but had never ordered this combination so after getting my check I see they charged me $13.99 for this! I was in a hurry and there were other customers so I decided not to say something then. The prices are generally much higher than other establishments but I looked past this because of the convenience, but 13.99 for three eggs and bacon is beyond ridiculous. read more

Ordered a 3 layered chocolate cake and requested a celebration glittery themed Birthday cake for my twins 18th Birthday. I was so disappointed when I saw the cake and it was not glittery and fabulous at all. It had an outline of yellow round candies around the cake and Happy Birthday written in bright white on the middle of the cake. It was plain and something I could have decorated. To make things worse, the cake itself was very dense. It didn't taste very good. For a $73 price tag I expected much much more. read more

Loved their coffee! I am a major coffee addict so this place won me over after my first cup. It was a cozy environment, with a great menu. I could see myself working from my computer all day as I ordered one of everything. A great place to go if you just need to unwind for a little bit. Amazing desserts! Make sure you visit with an empty stomach because you will want to try as much as possible, and the desserts can be quite rich. Five Stars! read more

OK - It's hard to write about this place because they do so many things, and all of them well. If you were to ask me "what's the Buzz?" (I feel like I'm in my High School production of Jesus Christ Superstar - yeah if you're old enough you get it - trust me) anyway I'd 1st say a coffee shop. Then I'd say wait - no it's some of the best pastries I've ever had, so maybe it's a bakery, but wait. Their sandwich's and boxed lunch specials are great - so maybe it's a lunch kinda place. OH YEAH the deserts!! Some of the most delicious (in looks and taste) that you can imagine. I've added this place to Yelp - just to write a review. I think they are that good and deserve to be noticed. A group of really nice people running a small locally owned and operated place that's really good and treats their customers like family. This is one of my family's favorite places to get breakfast. It's a tiny cafe in a small strip center but inside it's got cute tables and tons of great decor. The staff are super friendly. It feels like you're in a small town where everybody knows everybody. Most people that come are regulars that get to know the staff but they are very welcoming to newcomers as well. My daughter and I checked out this very busy place on a Sunday morning. We only got a coffee and a scone but were they ever GOOD!!! Coffee served in a nice BIG mug. We tried the banana chocolate chip scone ... DIVINE... and a very berry scone ... also divine!!!!! Not thrilled with the service.... I originally asked if I could just get the black pepper cheddar scone only that was used in one of their breakfast dishes with sausage gravy and was told NO. Why not????? Also, we were not offered any refills on the coffee... not sure if refills are included in the price or not because no prices were posted on the boards for their drinks or baked goods. We came for the food and we stayed for the friendly service! I wound up 20 miles from home with two hungry kids without my wallet, which I only figured out as we arrived at the buzz. Before we could even explore the possibility of using my phone for Apple Pay, they invited us to sit, stay, and enjoy breakfast! Friendly staff, an amazing assortment of goodies, and an ever changing menu that is all fabulous. Yep, this place is pretty awesome. I found it completely by accident when Bartholows road was closed and I had to detour around to Lynn Burke. Now, I stop by every Sunday on my way to the horse farm where I volunteer. I haven't had all their food, but it certainly looks awesome. I can vouch for their bagels and cream cheese, the berry scones and the coffee. All are delicious, and I get all 3 each Sunday. Very friendly folks and good prices. read more

This place is nothing short of amazing, and I am not just saying that because I worked there in its beginning stages, it just is! I still think of The Buzz every time I made a bangin' panini in my own kitchen, because Minda and The Buzz is where I learned how. After working in the service industry for almost a decade, The Buzz was one of the places where I learned the most. It really is everything you want in a great cafe: warm personalities, fresh and delicious comfort foods like paninis, soups, and salads, amazing breakfast, coffee drinks, and to-die-for baked goods that make a person without a sweet tooth, like me - develop one! I wish I lived closer these days, so that I could pop in all the time! I wish The Buzz all the best! Its everything that a local, small-business should be. This is a nice quiet little place that must be one of Damascus's best kept secrets! Their menu is full of freshly cooked items that are made with love. The past two times I've gone I've gotten the fritatta bake with sliced potatoes, ham, cheese, and some kind of creamy milk sauce. It was to die for, just all the flavors working together was amazing. Their selection of different flavored coffees is pretty extensive and are very rich. The people who work their are super friendly and laid back. I do think it's pretty funny that it is called the Buzz and a lot of the menu items are named with slight references to the mary jane, kind of makes me wonder haha. Found the experience to be a bit of a mixed bag. We ordered the Mac N' Cheese, a ham, peach, and brie panini, a patty melt (which was actually roast beef and cheese and not an actual patty melt), and a twix brownie bar. All the food was just pretty ok. There wasn't anything glaringly wrong with it, but it just lacked something. That is, except the twix brownie thing which was freaking amazing! The service was alright too. There were three high school aged kids working the counter. The new kid and girl were super sweet and doing their best, but there was another young man hanging out in an apron that seemed more concerned with being on his phone. Maybe he was off, but who knows? We'll probably give it another shot as we hear they change up the menu pretty regularly. read more

I ordered a coconut cake and chocolate cupcakes for my mom's 65th birthday celebration. Even though I emailed less than the requested 2 day advance notice, they took my order. The response to my email was quick and all of my questions were answered. And then the cake...absolutely amazing. All 40 guests raved about it and not one slice was left! We stopped in early Sunday to get some breakfast this time. Started out with the cinnamon bun which If you don't get in there by 8:30am they will be gone. They only make them on the weekends. I had the trailer hash which seems to be popular with some of the other yelpers. It has a great taste but here is the reason for the 4 stars and not the 5. I think they should use some fresh hash instead of the tater tots. It would compliment the freshness of everything else they do. The French toast was great and the flavor on them separates them from a typical boring French toast. Overall the menu is unique and always changing. That alone with keep me coming back. I agree with one of the other post, if this place was in Baltimore they would make a killing. I am glad they are in the area but I just don't see myself breaking my neck to get to this place if I wasn't local. read more

The one time it fell a bit short was the last time we came here (right before Christmas so they were busy with lots of groups and catering orders) when the side salad I ordered consisted of some wilted/rotten greens.
