(Updated rating) this place is a small business that serves breakfast items and unique & creative baked goods. They provide helpful and pleasant service. I've tried the cinnamon roll (5$), ganache brownie (5$), chocolate chip cookie (1.50$), bunny trail brownie (carrot cheesecake layered brownie) (5$), and carrot cake whoopie (5.25$). The cinnamon roll was easily my favorite item. The cinnamon roll was pretty good with a good amount of icing and it's even better warmed up. The ganache brownie was the best brownie I had and warming it up is how it should always be eaten. The chocolate chip cookie is good but it needs to be warmed up to achieve the best taste. The bunny trail brownie (carrot cheesecake brownie) was very creative but it was just alright. The carrot cake whoopie was okay but it didn't really have the carrot cake flavor I was expecting, it tasted more like a spice cake which wasn't for me and I wouldn't get it again. The variety of flavor combinations to apply to hot drinks here (coffees, teas, hot cocoas) is super fun to explore. And the food is pretty great too. Any regular here should be hooked to the stratas, although other seasonal breakfast platters will always satisfy. I have only been there for lunch once, but I regularly go for breakfast or brunch in the way to an appointment I make most months. So I can only say that the lunch menu also does not disappoint even if I can't call out a favorite. I have also enjoyed the pastries, and they are outstanding as well. And since the offerings change every month, one can never be bored. I always get great service, and all the people working there seem to really enjoy being there. There is no need to buy my loyalty when you make solid products, though it never hurts as a perk :) What I got: Mixed berry scone - 4.5* a perfect consistency, this scone is sure to delight! I loved the mix of fresh berries and the delicious softness of the scone. My only ask would be to have a little more icing drizzle but that's purely because I have a sweet tooth. Honey cake - 5* a small and surprising cake. Deliciously moist, this cake will hit the spot for anyone looking for an understated dessert. Amazing find!! I tried their Cinnabon specialty drink and it was made just right, not too sweet, not too strong, not too bland. It went perfectly with their mozz pesto scone. Their ganache brownie had the perfect texture, it melts in your mouth. The price was a LOT cheaper than what I had expected. On a lazy Saturday morning when a nice breakfast and coffee is needed, I checked Yelp and found some options. Was going to go to a place I saw in Gaithersburg, but it was farther than I wanted to drive. I've been here over2 years now and while I've driven past it a few times I never stopped in. I now wish I would have visited sooner because this is one of my favorite spots after just one visit. This is definitely a locals spot and has a locals hang out vibe which I love. There's many humorous coffee themed signs as well as others that will entertain while waiting for your order. I ordered the Tiramisu Cold Brew to start. I don't normally get whipped cream, but theirs is home made so I had to try it. It was outstanding. I almost finished it before my order came (more on that later). For my breakfast, I ordered something called "Homework Helper Dutch Baby". The menu items change names based on the season, and right now it's" Back to School" so the menu items have names reflecting that. The homework helper is a thin orange flavored pancake that is made into the shape of a bowl and topped with fresh blackberries and drizzled with a Cinnamon vanilla glaze and served with a side of organic maple syrup. This dish requires at least 20 minutes to prepare as stated on the menu. Hence the reason I almost finished my cold brew before it came. It was well worth the wait. OMG, this thing was amazingly scrumptious. I would highly recommend you high tail in to try it. They also have cakes, pastries and bread. We had to get more cold brew to go, it was that good. Our server, and I am terrible at names so I can't remember, but she was extremely nice and pleasant. Very helpful with our questions and concerns. We've been frequenting The Buzz for 10 years and the food (especially the baked goods!) are consistently fantastic. The vibe is super chill, the decor is quirky, the staff are top notch (with a great sense of humor!), and absolutely anyone and everyone is welcome! Their triple berry scone is the best scone you'll ever have! Seriously, don't skip it for one of the other fancier sounding items... this scone will change your life. Today I called to ask about some kind of a cookie or brownie plate that I could purchase for my veterinarian's office (my pup just passed). I asked a couple questions and the connection kind of broke up, but I realized I was being told in a very frustrated, voice, "Ma'am, please wait I need to take my cake out of the oven so it doesn't burn." That is fine but when she said the first time she sounded like she was talking to an employee, but apparently it was me. She came back to the phone, and I asked another question about the size of the bar/brownie platter and how many people it might feed. She cut me off and rudely said, " I don't know how many people are at your veterinarian's office or how hungry they're gonna be you're gonna have to figure all that out yourself and I'll let you do that while I go bake more cakes. Bye". Instead of going through Amazon or some other kind of a crappy chain I thought I'd patronize a locally owned business which would be great for them and for the recipients of the gift I was going to provide. Their website invites you to call but I will never call them again and I certainly won't be purchasing *anything* from them. Ever. Please realize when you're rude to somebody, they may be going through something hard too. If baking those cakes is so hard and stressing you all out, I so don't want that negative energy put into the food you prepare. read more

Over the last few years I have had the pleasure of sampling most dishes across The Buzz's menu (a full breakfast and lunch menu) and literally dozens of different types of baked goods and pastries and every single dish has been a pleasure. The owner recently created one of the most delicious and decadent birthday cakes for one of my munchkins that I've ever experienced. Other than having to add an extra digit to my calorie tracker I have no regrets! Ya know those movies where a world class chef starts their own business in a small town area and offers world class food to local residents who have no idea how spoiled they are?...Well that's the deal at The Buzz. The owner is a classically trained pastry chef who truly loves spreading joy with food. She has created a welcoming little environment in her shop and has assembled a team that seems as much a family as a group of co-workers. I visited the Buzz on Saturday afternoon, close to closing time (around 2pm), and I would definitely recommend coming earlier in the day if you want to try different baked goods. I ordered a chocolate ganache covered Bundt cake, a maple walnut brownie and chocolate ganache cake and it seemed like it was the last of their baked items. Although I would recommend trying a coffee from the Buzz and it was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful, with a small town local feel. The Buzz usually has different scone flavors that are available and updated on their social media Facebook and Instagram pages. Went here to grab some pastries and coffee after a hike. The staff was super friendly and when we told her that it was our first time there, she gave us the run-down of the shop. The top shelf on the pastry rack is hand made daily by the guys in the back. This was mainly scones, biscuits, and donuts. The bottom rows are made weekly, which are the bars and cookies, and then they get loaves of bread delivered frequently by Stone Hearth Bakery. We ended up ordering a coffee donut, honey hive, old bay biscuit, and a ham and rosemary scone, along with a drip coffee. First off, the drip coffee was surprisingly good. It had a very smooth flavor and was a good strength for me. The coffee donut was a baked donut and the coffee flavor was pretty mild. It seemed like it may have just been in the glaze, which was a little thick, but pretty good tasting. The honey hive actually looks like a bee hive, and I have to say, they did pretty good getting just a subtle honey flavor in the cake, which was almost pound cake like in texture. It also had some nice crispy parts where I think there may have been more concentrated sugar from the honey and it maintained a good moisture content. The old bay biscuit was quite large and definitely had the old bay taste that lingers in the back of your mouth. It was best when heated up and had was a great salty biscuit. Maybe not my taste of biscuit, but they definitely achieved what they were going for. I think the favorite was the ham and rosemary scone. It was a nice size scone that actually had some height and density to it. There was a good amount of rosemary flavor and some sweetness to balance the salty ham. Although, that being said, the ham was a lot thinner than expected, almost like a prosciutto. But this was great, as it almost disintegrated in your mouth. This coffee/bakery shop is quite close to my house, and it's a nice place to stop for a mocha or dessert item. It is a little on the pricey side, but I'm happy to support a local small business instead of spending money at Starbucks. Their coffee flavors are also unique & yummy. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of breakfast at this establishment when compared to the price. I got a $14 bagel lox on a supposedly "toasted everything bagel" per the menu but the bagel was not toasted at all and definitely tasted store bought. The fruit that came with the meal did not look fresh at all and only had 4 to 5 small pieces of pineapple and cantaloupe in the cup. The fruit was not edible. For a $14 breakfast sandwich I expected higher quality, the meal I got was not worth the price at all and was an extreme disappointment. The other dish I got was the polar plunge French toast which was slightly better but it was dry and did not include the "whipped cream and real organic maple syrup" as advertised on the menu. If the dish didn't come with certain items then it should not be on the menu as it's false advertising. I wouldn't even minded paying extra for the syrup if I had known it wouldn't be included. I also would not recommend the cupcakes here especially considering they are supposed to be made in house. The cupcakes I got were small and the icing was nothing to write home about. Overall, I expected better quality breakfast/brunch food for the price I was paying. The menu description and website made it seem like a cute local cafe so I was excited to try it. Needlessly to say, I will not be returning and I'm ashamed to say I spent $60 on a low quality breakfast I may as well gone to Dunkin' Donuts. Cute locally owned coffee shop (and more) located in Urbana. I was excited to try this spot and bring my friend food...she had just given birth to twins and she really liked the salted caramel coffee from The Buzz. I ordered as soon as I got there, the place was quite busy and it took about 25 minutes to receive our to-go order. Unfortunately the woman who took our order didn't make my drink while I was waiting, everything came out at the same time which I thought was bizarre and took quite a while. I also asked them to put my tea into my own tea cup that I brought and they forgot to use it and I had to transfer it to my cup and they wasted a paper cup. Our food which ended up totaling almost $30 for two breakfast sandwiches and two hot drinks, besides being super expensive, came out in styrofoam containers!!! Yikes! Who uses those anymore? I love supporting businesses like this especially because they have "frequent flyer" cards that allow you to punch it every time you visit and on the 10th visit, you receive a free something...but I don't think I would visit enough to be able to utilize the card. Now that I've been here more than once I can say that I adore this cute café. The décor and all the artwork on the walls makes me giggle as I wait for my food and drink. I've only had breakfast here twice and both were as expected. i went around Christmas last year and had biscuits and gravy but it was much fancier than that but I actually dont remember what it was or the name. It was quite filling and the gravy was pretty good. The boy and I cant remember what he got the last time we were there. The boy got a smoked salmon bagel this round and I got a breakfast sandwich. Both were good and came with fruit salad. I dont like cantaloupe so the boy got 2 fruit salads. Both times we've been I've been lucky enough to find the cinnamon rolls. They were both pretty good. This last time I went they had pumpkin cinnamon rolls the first time I went they had regular ol' cinnamon rolls. However, these rolls are not just "regular" -- first they only make a limited number of these daily and they are huge. Imagine one of those square take out containers that you get from restaurants, the cinnamon roll fills up one of these completely. The pumpkin cinnamon roll i felt could use a little more pumpkin flavor and I think it would have been nice if the cinnamon sprinkle inside was more on the pumpkin pie spice side but nonetheless this was an excellent cinnamon bun. The dough was fluffy and the cream cheese icing was excellent. I had to reheat the cinnamon roll both times and was sad to see that the icing doesnt hold up to the oven heating (but this is a duh thing) but was happy that the bun was nice and soft and pillowy that this didnt detract from the flavor at all. read more

Stopped in for lunch with at a friend's suggestion. Had a beautiful salad with lots of different greens, blackberries, goat cheese, candied pecans and a raspberry vinaigrette. It was delicious.
