As I write this review - I'm already craving the butter chicken. It's 7:39 am. Relax girl…read more I stopped by Wok to Bowl yesterday and ordered the butter chicken with basmati rice, samosa and mango sticky rice. It was exactly what I wanted on a cloudy afternoon. The butter chicken had just the right amount of spice, and the chicken was sooo tender. The samosa was buttery and full of delicious veg filling, and the two sauces that came with it were spot on. The mango sticky rice wasn't the traditional Thai style I'm used to, but it paired surprisingly well with the spice of the butter chicken. The restaurant was clean and had a great vibe. Plenty of space to sit if needed. I also want to give a shout-out to Jose, who took my order. He was juggling phone orders and the counter, and one of his coworkers jumped in to help. You could tell everyone was busy, but the team worked together so smoothly and stayed in a great mood. My fresh food came out in less than 10 minutes, and the portions were beyond generous. As I waited for my food I could here the other patrons talk about all the different plates they've savored and how great they were! Wonderful experience all around. I'm so happy Wok to Bowl is an option here in Bloomington, and I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. 10/10!

How do I rate this BBQ joint that had superb sweet tea for Illinois standards and great good but…read morecommits one of the biggest sins a BBQ joint restaurant can commit? Which sin is that you may ask? Being stingy with sauce. I ordered a 3 meat platter and it comes with only 2 2oz cups of sauces. 4 oz of sauce is not going to take care of 3 meats! They have 8 sauces in all but that's only a tease. Are the sauces made of gold because they better be at the $1.00 they charge for another 2 oz cup of sauce. I could live with $0.25 but out of the 321 or so or so BBQ joints I have been to on Yelp, none of them wanted to keep me from their sauce like Brass Pig. By the way, it wasn't mentioned on the menu. I didn't know how much it costs until the bill showed up. My waitress, who was wonderful by the way, I asked her about it. She told me she would get in trouble if she didn't charge me for sauce and she hated it as well! So to answer my question - Brass Pig should receive a 4 because the sweet tea was refreshingly sweet and everything on my plate was delicious. But it gets a 2 because I am never coming back. There are plenty of other BBQ joints that willingly give their sauce for free, make it in-house, and don't charge as high for extra 2 oz of sauce.
