There were lots of specialty coffee options but I just got their black coffee and it was super smooth. Very delicious. The menu has a lot of options on here all the way from breakfast to ice cream! We sat in here for a while. Super unique place, each chair at the table was also different, which was neat. There's also seating outside! Lovely spot!

The food was good.... But you order and pay at the register when you walk in. They ask for a tip…read morebefore you receive any service. The only service you receive is the food being brought to your table (not the drinks) and you remove your own trash from the table. It is way over priced. I ordered 2 smash burgers 1 basket of fries and 2 kids meals with grilled cheese and fries, no drinks. I added 15% tip not knowing they don't do anything for you. Total was over $70. There was a sign at the register that said wait time for food was 20 minutes. We waited over an hour to get our food. The 2 burgers came out first, then a couple minutes later the grilled cheese. By this time our kids were not happy at all. It was very hot inside. They didn't have the ac on. I could see the thermostat from where we were sitting. It was 85 when we got there and got to 90 before we left. Others, I'm guessing locals the people working know, were served before everyone else. Several young ladies came in and went behind the counter and made their own drinks and filled coolers and left before my family was served. A group of elderly people came in after us and were offered vouchers for their wait. We didn't get anything not even offered anything to drink while waiting over an hour inside in 90 degrees. After using the salt shaker that was on the table I noticed all of the dead bugs in it. They put trays of cooked chicken and bacon out to cool where customers can walk up to. With the heat and flies I wouldn't eat anything they are prepping.

My wife and I stopped by The Roost for breakfast, and it definitely lived up to its reputation…read more I ordered the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. The corned beef hash was outstanding, crispy where it should be, tender where it counts, and clearly made by someone who actually cares. You can taste the effort. The scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked too. Now, about that "sourdough." I have to confess I'm a bit of a sourdough snob after spending time eating the real deal in San Francisco. This wasn't sourdough. It was good white bread wearing a fake mustache. That said, it was fresh, buttery, and the marmalade was absolutely delicious, so I still happily cleaned my plate. The coffee is self-serve and bottomless, which I actually like. If you're the type who enjoys topping off your own cup whenever you want, it's perfect. If getting up to refill your coffee feels like an Olympic event, you may disagree. Service was friendly, fast, and exactly what you hope for at a breakfast spot, attentive without hovering. We visited around 8:30 on a Saturday morning. Since it's a college town and summer break was in full swing, it wasn't busy at all. I'd expect it to be a much different story once students are back. Overall, I'd absolutely come back. Just one request for The Roost: either upgrade to real sourdough... or call it white bread. My inner bread critic will thank you.
