Grilled cheese was good. Chicken strips resembled chicken purchased at a restaurant closed on Sundays. Fries were lackluster-weren't super hot and crispy and desperately needed salt. Fried mozzarella sticks were good-thick breading. Canned soda options for only $1.50. Definitely worth checking out on a trip and is a hit with locals who have a loyalty punch card. What a relief from all the other poser restaraunts trying to sell a burger. Other burger joints are all dried out, lack taste and let's just say it - Made Upside-down!! This place knows what they are doing. Plentiful fries. The Shrimp and Halibut combo platter was breaded nicely not too heavy. The fries reminded me of McDonalds, but fresh and tasty. There was a sort of light seasoning on them. When I showed up here, I knew that it would be good. Everything was sacrificed to put out a quality burger and food product. There is no eating area, no warm area to wait for your order. There is a small alcove to protect from the rain (which it was doing when we came). Don't let the sparse and slightly muddy, slightly unkempt environment fool you. This place is amazing!! Seriously delicious and well put together burgers. After placing our orders, we headed to the car to wait. It felt like a long time, but was only probably about 10-15 minutes. Meals came out as they were finished which means the first of our group was almost done when the last burger meal showed up. Which might have been slightly due to deliciousness and partly due to time. Certainly a place to try during your time in Kenai! read more

WOW, what a Burger. I was in heaven eating here! I got the big burger and onion rings. The sweet pickles on the burger made it unique, and wonderful. The taste was superb and the onion rings were like gran pappy used to make em. Superb! The fries we had were also phenomenal. I ended up renting an airbnb from someone who worked there and related to the owners. What a nice and hard working family they seem to be. First off great customer service!!!! We were in kenai for a wedding and we were staying at an Airbnb right up the road. My sister picked up burgers on Tuesday for the family and it was so good we went back Wednesday to try the other items on the menu!!! Sorry there are no food picks because most of it didn't even make it back to the house!!! We tried all the hamburgers as well as the fish burger and shrimp basket. Onion rings and jalapeño poppers were fire. We were so stoked to get to try this burger joint and will be back next time we are in town. Wait for the food was 10 minutes but don't bitch because it comes out piping hot and fresh. Great food and great customer service is hard to find now days but Burger Bus has it all!! This is hands down the best burger on the Kenai! It is worth the drive if you're only pushing through to Homer or heading back to Anchorage.

Amazing quality. I ordered the 1/3 pound Bacon Cheeseburger with all of the fixings, Chili Cheese Fries, and a Mountain Dew. The burger was juicy but not greasy and cooked to perfection. The bacon was crispy and not limp or thin cut. It had the right amount of mustard and mayo, the produce was fresh, the sweet pickles add an additional element to the burger which made it hit all of the notches on the taste buds. The Chili Cheese Fries were great sized to where you could share them and they don't scrimp on the toppings, ample amount of Chili with Cheese to match the amount of Fries you get. I had to try this place out as I love a good burger especially out of the way, non corporate places. It was very hard to find as it's way off the road and actually not visible from Highland Ave. There was several people in line and waiting for food and was told when I ordered it would be 20minutes. I Got my Bus Burger and fries and all looked good until I had a taste of the burger. Yuck! They are using pre-cooked patties and not sure how they are being warmed. But it was a very gross,dry patty. I mentioned this to a local over dinner and they finished my sentence when was going to tell him about pre-cooked patties. Fries were pretty good. Lettuce and tomato on burger were fresh. Well we always eat there when we go up to visit family, so it is a bit unfair for me to review it, but we had such a great time (this last time) I thought I would post. I don't even know how many times I've eaten there, but they all have been very good. First off, this isn't PDX (as some other reviewer mentioned). This is Kenai. It's an old bus, it's in a parking lot, you wait for your food outside. All that should set you up a bit before you order. Which isn't to downplay it, it's to let you know this place is NOT trying to be something else. It's a bus that serves burgers! Period! And they are delicious! I mean, you can only make a burger so well, so in my book, this place serves it's purpose to a T. They give you a TON of fries with your burger, so if the burger doesn't fill you up, the fries probably will! They are SOOO nice there. It is almost freaky how polite and nice they are. We had a Halibut burger (which a few years ago was off the mark, but it is back on and very good), Mushroom and Swiss and the Kenai Killer. All were great.
