Wow. I wanted pancakes this morning and boy did I find them. The Duck Inn is an unassuming little place right off the road. Easy to access with a nice bar on one end and the cafe on the other. My breakfast came with eggs, fantastic sausage and sone of the best pancakes ever. They reminded me of the ones you used to get at the Original Pancake House. Fantastic. I came here after work on a Thursday and loved it! I had a burger which was very tasty & huge! The service was pretty good & our server was kind. They have 2 bar sections, a pool table, and virtual indoor golf so plenty of things to do if you don't want to just sit and eat. I will be back to try other things! Friendly staff. Our first time trying the Duck. We weren't impressed. My husband ordered Country fried steak and eggs. He liked his steak and hashbrowns. His cheesy scrambled eggs were blue and had blueberries in them. They gave him new ones with no cheese. Clam Chowder was very good. I ordered the Halibut fish and chips. It was $41. Fries were bland and mushy. Fish breading way over crispy, not seasoned and the fish was very dry. I've had better fish at Long John Silvers or Captain D's in the lower 48. Stopped in for a midday bite. I got The Mack Daddy "T" burger, with French fries. It was good. A large, double patty burger that was not too greasy, which was definitely a plus. Came here for billiards, and got nachos to snack on. Very huge serving and super delicious am impressed with how well done it was. I was unaware until getting there that Thursdays are Karaoke night. I sang four songs between my eight games. The DJ's were friendly, and the bartender was kind and quick to get my drinks out to me. Finding the menu was impossible online so I decided we would go and try them and update Yelp with some photos!! May 2024. Halibut fish n chips was a tad dry but a huge portion size. Duck Inn is a consistently reliable spot--I've never had a bad meal or experience here. This time, I started with the clam chowder, which was a bit thicker than I usually prefer, but the flavor was incredible and definitely not lacking. My husband and I shared the Duck Inn Club, and I swapped out the Swiss for Jack cheese. It was absolutely delicious and enormous, easily filling us both up. As always, the fries were perfect--crispy, never greasy--and the thick-cut bacon was some of the best I've had. On top of that, the service is always friendly and welcoming. I loved this place! We ate in the sports bar area which was clean and welcoming. The server was super nice. We ordered the green chili chicken to share with steak fries. The sandwich was large and perfect for sharing. The chicken was tender and fresh. I was impressed with the amount of green chilies they put on the sandwich. My only suggestion would be to chop the chilis instead serving half slices. The half slices kept sliding out of the sandwich causing the chicken to fall out as well. The sandwich became hard to eat. However, the flavor was so good we both agreed we could eat it with a fork and be just as happy. Duck In is worth the stop. The servers are friendly and the food is delicious. When I asked a local about the place she said it's a bar. I can testify it's more than a bar it's a gem worth visiting. read more

I really enjoy coming to this bar/restaurant. It's a great time when there's football, karaoke, or some sort of holiday party. The food is absolutely fantastic and the chicken strips are to die for. Especially the honey mustard! The only thing I have a complaint about is the service in the bar section. It seems like there's not enough bartenders when there's something big going on. I come in for a couple of drinks and some food to go, and a lot of the time I'm waiting forever to get waited on for my drinks. The bartenders are awesome at their jobs when they serve you, but a lot of the time you're waiting over an hour just for 2 drinks. Please, (management) have more bartenders on a weekday when there is an event like football or trivia. One bartender is not enough. Otherwise, great establishment, food, and drinks. read more

I usually don't leave bad reviews, but the biscuits and gravy today have discussed me so bad that I thought I should share and maybe you guys will get a different recipe sometime very soon cuz I used to like your biscuits and gravy You had one of the best in town. But today was the most disgusting biscuits and gravy I have ever ever tasted my entire life f ing nasty. It tasted like somebody got the flour and powdered sugar confused or something The gravy consistency was not what I'm used to tasted very herbie like there was too much bay leaf in it it also had a taste of rosemary I don't know if that was coming from the sausage that was so finely smashed up into the gravy that it just was absolutely weird texture to it and everything instead of just having nicely crumbled sausage in your gravy it was just smashed up like it had been run through a blender. And having the pork smashed up in there you know maybe would have been something you could overlook if it wasn't for the flavor of the gravy itself it was very weirdly sweet had herbal notes that I couldn't define to it and then spicy with these red chili flake all throughout it I don't know if somebody screwed up royally when making it and just tried to cover it up with weird crap this morning or what or somebody's been watching too many reruns of Chopped back there in the kitchen but get your sh*t together. Go back to a basic like Grandma used to make biscuits and gravy recipe. Even the biscuits were on the mediocre side they were a little too soft and sticky for my liking at least they weren't dry but they also had kind of a weird sweetness to them or maybe it was just from the gravy and it even overwhelmed your biscuits. If this is somebody's idea of a new recipe that you're trying you tried it don't do it again.Now throw that recipe out in the trash and light the trash can on fire and I would suggest doing that with any gravy you have left. I have had better biscuits and gravy that were two days old & served with a side of cigarette smoke and ash a cup of black tar they called coffee at a greasy spoon truck stop diner in the middle of nowhere Montana than what I ate today. In fact I think I'd gladly go back and get a plate of that rather than have this taste left in my mouth. Do better y'all that's all I am saying. And also I just wanted to make a note about the prices really have gone up quite a bit for smaller portions on everything, I realize that the grocery prices have gone up but The prices seem to cover that and seems plenty to keep the same portion sizes, been a while since I was in the restaurant business, but unless you have a lot of overhead or a lot of cost and lost in your kitchen you should be able to keep those portions up in the breakfast menu. And maybe I'm just being nitpicky cuz I'm still a little salty over the sweet ass breakfast that shouldn't have been sweet. read more

Went yesterday for dinner. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and service was fast. Ordered the duck burger which ended up being a bit too much meat for me. The burger was tasty although it was falling apart due to the amount of toppings. Good selection of beer as well. Also FYI, they do have gluten free buns. Just ask for it when ordering. read more

This is where you go when you want an affordable meal and you're hungry! Delicious fried appetizer as well. The platter never disappoints. We often order the large platter when we go out with a group and it's great to share. Get a half order of fries/nachos and you'll be left wondering if they brought you a full order instead! We spent all day fishing, 6 adults and a kid. We were super hungry and called to make sure they were still serving food in the bar and was told they quit at 940 , 3 of us got there about 920 and ordered for everyone , waitress was super nice. As soon as the rest showed up at 10 a lady marched over to our table and rudely told us we had to leave because we had a minor with us. She stomped off and I said what can we do , our food had barely arrived and she didn't even offer to let us hurry up and eat or give us go boxes. The sweet waitress brought us boxes and we had to pack up everything and get hearded out like criminals. The bouncer first told us we could move into the restaurant but the rude lady said nope they have to leave the because the restaurant is closed. Bouncer and rude lady should be fired. After growing up in Kenai, this was my first time here. Major bummer because it was excellent! It's hard to judge a spot just on breakfast so I will definitely be back to try lunch and dinner. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. Very good! My son had the Frenchy, which was French toast, 2 eggs, and 2 sausage links. excellent as well. Portions were just right. Service was super friendly. My only complaint would be they open at 10am at least on Sundays. But I know good help is hard to find so I'd rather they opened later like they do but have great staff. Can definitely recommend for breakfast. 4 stars until I try something other than breakfast but fully anticiapte it will be a 4 or 5 star. But issue the crispy hash browns where only lightly cooked and raw in the middle. Friend ordered steak fingers . And found not steak but ground beef. When asked was told it's ground steak. Ok so that's hamburger. Friend did not finish meal. So most of the food was great . Service pretty good my coffee was kept full. But be very clear when you order and ask questions if you have not ordered before. read more

Dinner Salad was great, Dinner was not terrible but what sticks out most was the process of paying for our meal. The waitress handed me a digital pad with only two Tip Buttons preset. 20% or 25%. If I'm going to be honest, this is a restaurant I would never go back to. My sister and I waited over 45 minutes for chicken tenders and a steak and mash potatoes and the service was horrible. For the appetizer, we got Blackened Steak Bites, we waited for about 30 minutes. Our servers came and asked for how we were doing, we said we were alright. (We believed the appetizer and meal were going to come out at once.) All the food was ordered at the same time. And the steak bites were unevenly seasoned. Some pieces tasted way over seasoned and spicy, while other pieces were barely even. The steak my sister order came cold and medium well when she ordered medium rare. Our server gave my sister mash potatoes with gravy, without telling her there was going to be gravy when she wished for plain mash potatoes. My food smelt like fish, even though it was chicken tenders. It barely even tasted like chicken! Seriously, the only good thing that was on my plate were the French fries. And during the waiting period and when we had our food, it was painfully obvious the servers were avoiding us and could tell we weren't happy and getting impatient. Even after we told our server the steak wasn't medium rare, she apologized and didn't offer to give an alternative to the issue, instead she told us the steaks are baked to medium rare and then reheated to how the customer wants it cooked. Most of the time you don't tell the customer that the food isn't fresh. We don't want offer to have our food remade or anything, we would like to have our money back. A complete waste of time and money. I am SURE my family and myself won't be going back to that horrid place, by that point we just wanted to pay and never turn back. Took forever to see our server. 40 mins later SOME of the food arrived, (oatmeal w/no accompaniments & only a fork to eat it with; French toast w/no butter or syrup; meat w/out the pancakes) 10 minutes passed before she came back & by then the food is cold. Asked for new order so it got microwaved (French toast, reindeer sausage, & oatmeal) & was nasty. Asked to have oatmeal removed from bill. No manager on duty & told we had to call her on her cell phone to get it removed. Total cluster bleep. If I could leave zero stars, I would. We won't be returning. read more
