Alaskan Breakfast
Charlie R.

Great place to stop if you are driving through. We were heading back to Anchorage after a weekend in Homer. The place was full from the music festival down in Ninilchik. The coffee was great and we enjoyed breakfast. I saw some comments about the prices, but they seemed on par with other places. I had the seafood omelette. If you love crab and shrimp, I highly recommend it. Don't be in a rush. It's worth the time to relax and en

Rocky's cafe /store/ video store So cute it is a tiny cafe in Kasilof Ak if you drive too fast you will blow by it. Nice place to stop for a bite to eat and use restroom. Take a step back in time as you pass through the video store going to restroom. The food was good but pricey for a little place. The general store has tons of goodies and souvenirs t shirts. Service was slow they only had one waitress working and she was busy. The cafe was very clean inside.

An incredible banana split! Haven't had one in years and their's was amazing with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, merechino cherries, and sprinkles. Would get again!

Meatloaves pizza

This place is so cute and unique. The staff was so friendly and fast. Checking on us multiple times. We ordered the meatloaves pizza and I was not disappointed. The crust was incredible. You could tell it was homemade fresh. The edges had like a garlic bread taste to them. It was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The center of the pizza where all the toppings were was a thinner crust so a little crunchy which I love. The sauce had a nice fresh taste to it as well. This was a bit on the heavy side and greasy but that's kind of what you ask for on any meatloaves pizza with that much fatty meat but so tasty. I will be going back again for sure next time I visit.

a basket of fries and a bacon sandwich

Being in real estate isn't always about just sitting at a desk waiting for those commission checks to roll in. Sometimes it can be a day of tromping though knee deep snow to look at property in anticipation of new tenants... especially in the short term rental game. So after property inspections and cold feet, a man needs sustenance! Luckily for me - I had the boss with me and it was a business lunch. With hunger rumbling loud and clear, the boss and I headed over to Rocky's for some world class burgers. After a short look over the menu, both the boss and I chose bacon cheeseburgers. Thick cuts of bacon adorned a half pound patty smothered in cheese. Service was great. Food was hot. Can't ask for anything more.

We walk into this cute little cafe. Starving after a long amazing day of fishing. We are greeting at the cash register by a waitress with a frown looking at her watch. ''We close in 50 minutes, everyone is cutting it right on the line today'' hoping we walk out. I would understand if we came in with 10 minutes to spare but 50? No excuse to be rude. We are seated and pick out what we would like immediately to accommodate the not so accommodating waitress. Well the waitress must have been in to much of a rush, because it took a while to take our order. When we went to order they were out of almost everything. She would let us order then happily shoot down our order. If she is trying to get us out of there in time why wouldn't you let us know you are not going to be serving 75% of your menu. After doing the hokie pokie we finally were able to find something they had on the menu. The waitress spent the entire time out food was cooking staring at the cooks and she only gave us our salads a few minutes before our food came out. Which caused yet another delay. Food was better than the service. Calamari - good order that Chicken fried steak - used over salted brown gravy, mash potatoes appear to be boxed potatoes. Carrots appeared to be canned. I didn't hear any complaints about the burger or shrimp basket. As we walked out the waitress made a point to open the door after we left it had closed and scream at the top of her lungs "I'm locking you out!!!!!" After we had given a way to generous tip for her terrible service. "People will never forget the way you made them feel" I will remember this cafe forever for the way they made us feel.

They have a really good milkshake. If you appreciate a good Cuban sandwich, they make a good sandwich as well.

Best fish n chips I've ever had! My hubby liked the fries, and he's super picky. Can't wait to go back for breakfast.

Pretty good service and tasty meals. A little pricy but we're in Biden's economy and everything has gone up.

Rocky's Cafe is nasty. It's got gross food (especially the pizza) and HORRIBLE service. Everything there is SO slow.

So, my neighbour has been nagging me for some time now to call in to "that place with the railcars"…read morejust outside of Soldotna, but I'd not yet been. Though she hadn't mentioned there was a restaurant, she raved about the coffee shop and waffles. So my friend and I were coming to Soldotna last weekend, and me, as usual, am frantically searching Yelp for something with 4/5 stars. Addie Camp came up as a contender, with a solid 4.7 stars, but I hadn't realised it was where the railroad cars are. So we decided to give it a go. What a beautiful area it is, once you get up into the parking lot! It's very neat and tidy, and all the little railroad cars surround the central parking lot. And there's really massive solar panels to the rear. I liked that. There was not a scrap of trash anywhere. Very inviting. So we head into Addie Camp, and I'm wowed. It's beautiful inside, cosy and welcoming, yet very modern. The staff are lovely. The hostess asked if we had a reservation, but as we didn't she invited us to sit at the bar. No problem! They have tables upstairs, and in a railroad car to the side. It's absolutely beautiful, and features a lot of warm wood, but not old wood, very light modern wood. I tell you, I'm in love with this place. Anyway so we sit at the bar, where Sam was mixing cocktails. Sam is very pleasing on the eye, I might add. He was using Fevertree Tonic in one of the cocktails, and I told him that Fevertree's Elderflower Tonic is one of my fave drinks ever, and he said he loved it too. Anyway, so upon perusing the menu - it's not a huge menu, but there are plenty of things I'll eat - I ordered the Gold Star Elk Burger with rosemary fries, and my friend got Gambas Al Ajillo (Spanish style wild Patagonia Shrimp in a spicy olive and herb citrus sauce served with fancy bread) and we both opted for a Train Track Tonic Mocktail, mainly because Sam the bartender told me he had elderflower syrup, and it was featured in one of the mocktails, so I was sold. The napkins are fabric, and the silverware is fancy, heavy, not your usual restaurant fare. I was quite impressed with how quickly we were served, because it was quite busy. The food itself was outstanding. The bacon jam in this burger is EPIC and it's not your usual tiny bacon crumbles, it had chunky bits of bacon, and was sweetly gooey, but savoury too, absolutely the best bacon jam I've had, and it just gave the already amazing burger a boost it didn't even really need. There's no way to eat this burger in a dainty ladylike fashion, it's a beast, and the bacon jam is messy, but I went with it, and Sam got us some extra napkins. About 3/4 of the way through, I had to go knife and fork on the burger. I wasn't leaving any of that thing. The fries were good, the burger good, the mocktail good, excellent service, very attentive. This is unquestionably THE best restaurant on the Kenai Peninsula, and I can't wait to come back with my husband, next time we're down there. And, I did see regulars come in and be treated like they were old friends. After my experience there, I can see why people would keep coming back, it's THAT good!

We arrive and the line of folks waiting for seating is quite long and disorganized. Eventually someone comes out and tells everyone to all their name to the list of people that is accumulating. Hmm... this does not bode well. We wait about a half hour for our name to be called. When we are finally seating or drinks come promptly, but then we are forgotten for over 10 minutes. No one mentions them being out of anything. And of course, they're out of the one thing I want. Now I'm pissed. And I'm hearing they say its going to be about a 45 minute wait. We're starving. I should also mention, I am an VERY patient person. But as a basic standard, I do expect restaurant staff to communicate regarding delays and if they are out of things. Send help. I don't know if we are ever going to eat. Look for the skeletons setting toward the back of the restaurant. ‐‐----------------- Update: Upgrading from 1 star to 1.5 since we finally ate. The food was fine. I see why everything takes so long- way too much time on presentation for diner food. It was fine, but absolutely not worth the wait. Like at all. It was a chef salad, and a french toast not a work of art. These things should not involve a greater than one hour wait. And they forgot my salad dressing, so I had to track down the waitress to request it. Dear lord, help me. Cannot recommend.
