It is cozy -- clean with a great ambience. We were excited to try it, but the food and service didn't match the atmosphere. Our small order took a long time, and guests who arrived after us also waited quite a while. It may be a staffing issue, but the woman working in the kitchen didn't seem to have the timing needed to keep up with even a light lunch crowd. The special barbecue sandwich and tacos looked great but lacked seasoning, almost as if the meat wasn't seasoned and the condiments were meant to carry the flavor. Sides were okay. One suggestion: the dish drop‑off area has a garbage can with a lid you have to lift, which isn't very sanitary. The place has potential, and with improvements to seasoning, timing, and a few small details, the experience could be much stronger. read more

It's good and wholesome food! I've eaten here many times. My favorite is the salmon fritters. The chicken soup is so hearty with all sorts of veggies in it, even brussels sprouts sometimes!! The chicken and berry salad from the grab and go fridge (with the creamy herb dressing option!) has a decent portion of yummy, lean chicken breast and it's packed full of good leafy greens. The Boone burger is also another great option for good protein--it's big. I wish they were open every day. I just know I feel good after eating this food---I have steady, non-crashing energy and I don't get hungry later. It's hard to find read more

Chef Virginia catered our dinner event for 60+ people and the food was great. Loved the salmom fritters and halibut. The pasta bar was also a hit as it fed kids to adult so well. Our guests cannot stop commenting on the yummy food. She also helped us with all the plates, utensils, waterglasses. If I have another event in kenai area, I would use her again anyday. read more

Burger was really good and so were the scone and chips and salsa. All of it seemed to be fairly artisan. Atmosphere is nice. It has a modern feeling, featuring large windows that let in lot's of natural light. The owner took my order and she was very kind despite the fact that her Point of Sales system wasn't working. Overall, it was a great place to grab a bite to eat while traveling. I look forward to trying the fried chicken wrap next visit. read more

I hired Chef Virginia for my wedding and even though she makes good food, we ran out of the mac and cheese, potatoes and bread for the last three tables as several of my guests had mentioned to me. When confronting her about this, I received poor customer service which is why I'm leaving a 1 star review. I apologized to my guest as this was very embarrassing. If you hire her, I highly recommend a plated service instead of buffet to reduce risk and stress of running out. She is a liar. A horrible person. My husband and I were also unsatisfied with Virginia leading up to the wedding. She was unprofessional to us over the phone and gave us at least 6 incorrect invoices. Multiple times she told my husband "I'm busy" and was unorganized. I also wasn't aware when deadline to submit final count was. She never told me. And she was very rude when I told her the count 1.5 weeks before wedding. In general, she was rude and doesn't take responsibility for her actions. Instead she blamed me for not ordering enough food. It's a shame because she does make great food. But if you have a 130+ wedding I would highly recommend looking elsewhere if you want buffet. Or request plated meals. It was not a good experience for us. Hopefully yours is different. Update: I have now heard from 5 different people that food ran out on the last three tables. There was no bread left. And for my rehearsal dinner, she ran out of the chips and salsa. And had my guests wait in a line and wait 20+ minutes to receive food. I knew she was bringing her mobile kitchen. But thought the food would be ready ahead of time to spread out on table. Not the case. Friends and family therefore just had chips and salsa to munch on.... which ran out. I would never recommend Virginia to anyone. Regardless of the food. Her customer service is terrible. And blames me instead of holding herself accountable for her wrong doing. A simple apology would have gone a long way. But she did the exact opposite! She's horrible! read more

Several members of my family on different occasions have received nothing but rude customer service from the owner herself, Virginia. Complete lack of professionalism. In addition to being sarcastic and yelling at me for mistakes she made on our cake order, she did not even call us or offer an apology when our gluten free wedding cake was not ready on the agreed on day. Her excuse was that she had, i quote, "6 million orders and our order was not priority." I asked her on the phone to compose herself and that I was willing to wait until an hour before our wedding began to pick up the cake, and she still wouldnt budge. Mind you, she still had not even apologized for not having it ready the day before, for wasting our time by not even giving us a heads up that it wouldnt be ready. And when I demanded an apology, she screamed "why should I apologize if I forgot, what do you want me to do?" Anyway...when we picked up the cake, we were so happy we had a back up cake ready because her cake was a disaster. It looked like an easy bake oven cake, frosting was messy, colors didnt match, and she added sprinkles to it...it looked like a preteen girls bedroom exploded on the cake. The cake was actually tilting (like the sleeping beauty cake). I will never spend a single dime here again. read more

The Hearth Eatery & Catering catered my daughter's wedding in August 2020. They were very very professional and set up and cleaned up without me needing to micromanage. The food was outstanding, exceeding all of our expectations. Any food that was leftover was packaged up for us to bring home, we just needed to provide the foil pans. We had so much left over food to bring home that we provided dinner the following evening for all of our family guests. Her smoked luau pig was a special treat!! read more
