LOVED this little gem. It has a LOT of British items, the jellies alone - there were maybe 100 kinds. (And I am sadly no longer allowed to buy jelly until the hoard of my 10 awaiting bottles in my cupboard is finished!) I really only came here to lookie-loo. We stopped in the area to get a burger and wanted to check this place out. Since we don't have plans to visit London/Great Britain (GB) anytime soon, i suppose this is the closest we can get. It was empty when i went, and there was only 1 worker, whom i believe was the owner. She was really friendly and helped me pick some snacks that are popular in GB. This place has a lot of snacks, candy, drinks, food and gifts that have heritage from GB. They even have a fridge for frozen food like Shepherd's pie. some of the items, like chips, are kinda overpriced, but then again i doubt any other stores in the DFW area sells similar items. read more

This is such a lovely shop! I stumbled upon it during a recent visit to Grapevine and I am so happy I found it. The shop is full of all kinds of treats, gifts, and staples that I have not been able to find anywhere else. I was able to stock up on items that I haven't had in years and have been missing desperately. Service is wonderful and I could easily spend more than an hour in here browsing the shelves. An employee forced a group of disabled adults to leave the store on 2/24/26 at the Richardson location. She said, "I don't even know what they are" referring to the disabled adults and "those types of people". The group is part of a dayhab program that helps adults with disabilities learn various lifeskills by being in the community daily. When the founder of this group called the store owner she was met with a sarcastic and insincere apology. I am a parent of an adult in a similar group and I am appalled by this. I will never shop at this store and I will advise others to boycott as well. DO BETTER!!! read more

I forgot how much I love this place. Came here to pick up some stuff for my Mom before Mother's Day. The woman working there, I'm sorry - I never asked if she owned or managed or was an employee - was just super helpful and a delight. I took one of her recommendations for some chocolate and orange shortbread cookies. I'm happy I did because my mom loved them - she loved everything I picked up for her. I also shopped for me. I bought a peri peri baking bag with pre-mixed spices and it was wonderful. I wish I would have gotten a couple more. I also got a chicken korma pie and again, wish I had gotten more. I haven't yet tried the noodles or butter chicken sauce. The prices are steep but everything is imported. I knew that going in so it wasn't a surprise for me. I'll be back to get more soon. read more

South Africans have a rich British culture. I come to the Emporium for chocolates, (made with real sugar), Rusks, and flaky Cornish pasties. - Expensive! The Chocolates cost double from last year, but I bought some to stop my cravings, even paid $20 for a large bar of chocolate. - However, no Ouma rusks had been delivered yet for Christmas, which was really disappointing. -Scammed. So I bought 3 pasties, at $14 each, really! Then, when I got home I realized I had been charged as if it had been imported from Uk, but no...the label says, made by The Handmade Pie company in Spring, Texas. So was it like it should be? Cornish Pasty is light, airy flaky buttery pastry, filled with chunks of beef, carrots and potato stew with gravy. NO. It was not flaky pastry... it was thick, hard and dry! The tiny serving of meat inside was ground beef mince with absolutely no flavour! Not even my Worcestershire sauce could save it. What a waste of $45!!! It was the most tasteless pie I have ever had, and The British Emporium had the cheek to sell it at an inflated price as if it was from the Uk. Why not pay a South African or a Brit to make them? Americans have no idea how to make pasties, so why can't they learn from the best? read more

This is a cute British specialty shop connected to Fish & Fizz with all manner of treats from across the pond. Saw everything in here from Paddington bears, to all manner of teas (Earl Gray, etc) and digestifs. Surprisingly well-stocked for a store with a small imprint, good place for harder to find English items. read more

A fabulous shop this is. So many UK delightful delicacies and gifts to choose from. Every few months, I go in with stocking up my pantry of HP Sauce, Crosse & Blackwell Mint Sauce, Wilken & Sons Lemon Curd, Bird's Custard, and, Walker's Worcestershire Potato Chips in mind. Coming out though I have found myself adding Cadbury Chocolates, locally baked Scones, Crumpets, and, English teas. Yes, a few of the items mentioned can be bought elsewhere, yet much more satisfying it is to support this family business and really fun it is to have those ah-ha moments of new or from precious childhood memories' discoveries while shopping here in person! This is one of my favorite stores in DFW! I'm originally from England so it warms my heart to come here and see all the wonderful food and gift items from my home. I especially enjoy coming here around the holidays because I stock up on custard, candies, and Christmas pudding to make the holidays extra special. The store is fairly small but beautiful and packed full of amazing imported items. On my last trip I purchased flake bars, shortbreads, custard, and bounty bars. The service is great and they are very helpful to assist you in finding things on your list. I'm looking forward to returning soon to stock up on my English Christmas favorites! read more

I found out about this place recently and after living in Texas for 2 years I'm starting to miss/crave some home comfort foods from back in England I so was excited to visit and pick up some things I can't get here from grocery stores. There's a huge range of products from bacon in the fridge to chocolate bars, crisps and even things like Yorkshire pud mix. I spent a decent amount buying a few of each item and I'm so exited to have some British bacon to make sarnies! They had some other British things like teapots and cute little items you can gift to people who live British history and culture. But since the majority of the store is comprised of food and drink, I have to lower my review. The prices are just far too high. I realize they are small and import everything and cannot compete with online mass marketers but even so. This is the way of the world. When The British Emporium came up on Yelp as a "local flavor" option, I could not help but be interested by all of the snack pictures provided by other Yelpers (y'all the real MVPs!). Since we also do not have a shop like this back home (Hawaii for me), I figured if I had the time that I would make the trip down. Fast forward to our last day/night in Dallas and I realized that I did not have any omiyage (souvenirs or gifts for loved ones) for my in-laws, I rushed on down in a Lyft before meeting up with my husband for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by this cute little shop. I truly do not think pictures do The British Emporium justice because the exterior is quite unassuming (located in a mini strip mall in Grapevine) but once you open the doors and enter the shop, it is almost like you are transported to a quaint little shop in the U.K. I will say that this store is definitely not one for people who are claustrophobic or OCD due to how the interior is arranged and the amount of items but if you take the time to look around and see what they have, you will be pleasantly surprised. Since I did not really have anything particular in mind, I did exactly that. The British Emporium has a good variety of items that range from memorabilia of the Royal Family (mostly focusing on the Queen, may she RIP) to pop culture items involving Doctor Who and Harry Potter. There are also loads of UK snacks, teas, and other foods items, as well as small little knick knacks here and there involving corgis and cats (or other animals commonly associated with the UK). I settled in on grabbing some tea cookies, cocoa related items, and a load of Harry Potter candies as well as Cadbury items. I am pretty sure I picked up just about every little candy or sweet I could find in the back left corner of the store (you'll see what I mean when you visit because there's just loads of things!). By the time I was ready to check-out, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I did not have to sacrifice one of my cats to pay for the purchase but it was still pretty pricy (understandable given the export and shipping and handling costs). The woman who had assisted me with check-out was also sweet and nicely packed all my items into two large bags for me to carry out. Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting The British Emporium if you happen to be interested or looking for items that primarily can only be found in the UK (or Amazon.com lol). The selection of goods here are immense and they had a lot of items that I had never seen before (Guinness chips?!). The family that owns this store also happen to have a lot of community events, so check in with them on Instagram or in-person to see what they have planned next. read more

I don't know where to begin, huge selection of items, I got to the tea area and had a melt down. There were so many I had never seen. I will not tell you exactly how many we purchased, let's just say it was considerable, please don't judge me. :-) How they get so much in such a tight space is nothing short of a miracle. I live in OK and every time I'm in TX this is a must stop for me. Not necessarily for the British food, books or the accent, but I am a huge Doctor Who fan and I find that I can get Whovian items that I haven't seen on line or don't already own. This store is a bit like the TARDIS it's self in that it's a small shop in a strip mall, but it seems bigger on the inside. They have teas, coffees, biscuits, crisps. Tea cups, tea pots, canned goods, english candies, cookies. Cards, scarfs, tshirts. You crave or need something British you need to visit. read more

Thank the stars for the British Emporium. A friend of mine recommended them to me after I had come back to the states and was craving various treats. They have a very decent assortment of foods and drinks that I can not find elsewhere, and normally would have to have shipped. (And run the risk of being ruined or lost in transit!) As well they have an assortment of popular show items like Dr Who and Downton Abbey ... particularly with the movie coming out recently. Staff was friendly and helpful when I went in to the shop recently after far to long in between visits. They also do various events ... like there is a Corgies and cars event coming up but they always seem to fall when I have other plans or work trips. The only thing I could wish for is possibly fresh baked goods ... pies, pasties, desserts ... but I know that's some uber wishful thinking, but maybe when I catch an event they might have vendors or someone with better cooking skills than I with ready to eat treats! read more

This is an awesome place (not just for Nando's) but for all the British food souvenirs we wanted to buy for our buddies in London but did not want to risk bringing home in the luggage! OMG THEY HAVE NANDO'S PERI-PERI SAUCES HERE! I am saved -- Nando's is the best thing I ate in the UK, hands down!! It's addicting -- and now I have 4 bottles of the Hot peri-peri to get me through the cravings!! They have everything here -- all the brands and all the unique British grocery items from food to crisps to canned veg to soaps to puddings to biscuits to teas and jams. I was so excited to check this store out and was pretty disappointed with my experience. I wasn't greeted the entire time I was there, about 20 minutes. That's a big pet peeve of mine, it takes very little effort to say 'hi' especially to a potential customer. They had a lot of neat stuff- commemorative mugs, specialty foods, cookbooks- but everything was way more than I was willing to pay. read more
