We went to celebrate a birthday. Wrong drink brought. Asked for a salad without bacon. Waiter repeated the request and then was brought a salad with bacon. Hubs ordered lamb rare/med rare (usual temps for lamb is med rare). Was Served med well. There for 2 hours. No water served. 3 people, $250. Not at all worth it. Brinkerhoff has so much potential! Our group was celebrating and ordered a range of items from the menu- buratta was to die for! My friend and I both ordered filets which we thought were lacking salt- otherwise so tender and perfect texture. The rest of the food was delicious. All was well until the end of the meal when we were offered dessert. One person in our party was still working on a side dish but we ordered a dessert anyway, since we were finishing up. When telling the server what dessert we wanted we were met with "ehhhhhh I will wait until you finish your salad." Which we said "oh no that's okay you can just bring it now." To which she replied she would "have to see because they usually don't like that." (Managers/owners, I assume). I understand course flow/pacing but this interaction was just odd. We are offered dessert, then we say yes and are told "actually, I will have to see if it's okay..." it was just strange- If there are going to be strict rules on course separation, maybe consider white tablecloths, crumb sweeps, and a separate dessert menu, otherwise it gives the impression of trying too hard to be fancy. Ok positive update! We tried again and were able to sit at a table in the bar. I will say, similar to last time we noticed there were lots of open bar tables but people weren't being sat there, so I do still feel they are not adequately staffing for their capacity and demand. But we ordered several things and every one of them was very good! Highly recommend the grilled artichoke. I think their forte are their drinks - all of the cocktails we tried were amazing. Our waitress was also extremely pleasant and helpful. Overall a good experience if you can get a table! read more

So disappointed! We are regulars at La Loma, and Sierra is one of our favorite restaurants of all time. We wanted to try the Brinkerhoff, and we're so disappointed that we decided to leave before we were even seated. We made the reservation for three adults and one child requesting a highchair. The reservation was accepted. Our experience with the other restaurants owned by this group is that they always have great high chairs. We got there and we were escorted where it was extremely warm and there was no moving air, not even fans. We asked if we could dine inside and we got a booth much like Sierra's booth setup - and asked for a highchair - the that they did not supply high children were not welcome. We were getting together to honor the anniversary of my father's anniversary of passing - this was a special night, and we were unable to have our dinner there due to the lack of hospitality and the ability for my daughter to dine with us. Really really put a damper on the evening. Not happy at all. Reconsidering going to any of the restaurants that we love now due to our experience and the lack of ability to help us out with our reservation. If you do not accept children and do not have high chairs, then please do not accept the reservation with a child requesting a highchair. read more

Three of us enjoyed dinner here recently. Overall the food was good and arrived quickly. We shared the pimento cheese appetizer, which was excellent! I ordered the seared tuna salad. The tuna was seared perfectly and was excellent! However, the colorful mango and even bits of the avocado were hard as rocks and couldn't even be cut up. When I mentioned it to our server, he shrugged and said it wasn't quite the season. What? I had a mango that morning with my breakfast that was perfect and also had avocado toast that was perfectly ripe & creamy! For $28 I expect to be able to eat the salad. The Brinkerhoff won't be at the to of the list for dinner again. read more

We had a wonderful dinner at the Brinkerhoff tonight. We had Jake tonight and probably one of the best services we have had in all of CR. Had the chicken and it was amazing, wife had Cobb salad and also amazing. Get a reservation ahead of time so you're not waiting long. Seating and ambiance was on point!! We were unable to get a reservation so just went and had a 30 minute wait for 2, it was about 10 minutes. Had a great table with beautiful view. Our server was wonderful and when we mistakenly got the wrong steak it was fixed amazingly fast. Complimentary dessert for our anniversary and great drinks. Expensive? Sure but not ridiculously. Returning to this much talked about restaurant for the 2nd time, hoping for a better performance. After many years in the restaurant business, I broke my own rule of thumb which is "never go to a new restaurant the first year it is open", because it takes time to get everything to "jive". The first visit started out well with a good crab cake salad. When I inquired about the Lamb Chops for my main dish, the waitress informed me they cook the Lamb Chops "medium". I told her I would like mine cooked medium rare. They came out medium to medium-well, and a little bit tough. Service was at first very attentive, but as the meal, with my wife and another couple, moved along, the waitress seemed to sort of forget about us. After I received my main course, I needed to order a second glass of wine, but the waitress did not return for about 15 minutes and I was left eating the majority of my overcooked Lamb Chops without any wine. The rest of the meal was uneventful. The second time I came, which was about 4 weeks later, because we could not get Saturday night reservations for several weeks because they were "booked solid". This visit was a party of 8, which included 2 small children. The management was very accommodating in finding the right table for our situation. The order taking was very slow and took about 15 to 20 minutes to order drinks, appetizers, and salads. After about 30 minutes, some of the appetizers came out. It then took about 20 more minutes for the rest of the appetizers and salads to come out. By this time everyone was getting upset about the slow service. For an entree, I ordered the New York Strip, an $85 steak which I was sure I could not go wrong. The steak came out cooked medium rare as requested, but was presliced and was covered with a sweet, brown sauce. The menu did not mention the steak included being sliced and covered with sauce. Ok, I was willing to try a different presentation. Now the bad part, the steak was very tough, and had a grizzly vain running down the entire length of the steak. This could not be a "Choice or Prime" grade steak as the price of $85 might allude to. The sweet sauce was not especially good or tasty, and the steak being sliced seemed to cause it to become cool faster. I did not send the steak back, but later, after leaving, I realized it was so bad that I should not have paid for it. I took the other half of the steak home, and a few days later, I had the steak as leftovers, and it was just as bad as before. This restaurant is located in a wonderful building, with beautiful views, and appears to have the potential to be a great restaurant, but other members in the party for the second visit indicated they will not be coming back. I will wait, maybe till next summer to see if things have been ironed out. read more

We dined at this beautiful restaurant last night. Wow... The architecture and design of the restaurant is amazing. We loved all the food that we ordered: -Pimento cheese appetizer 10/10... The honey took it over the top. -hummingbird sushi was was fresh and very tasty. I'm not a huge sushi lover... but, I will come back for this one! -rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes... amazing flavor and nice portion size. 10/10! -Caesar salad... The best I've ever had! Presented beautifully... And tasted just as good as it looked. -salmon entrée... Excellent... Cooked to perfection and had a kale salad in accompaniment. -we ended the night with their yummy carrot cake... Big serving, three of us could not eat it all--although it was so good we tried! Our server was wonderful... She helped us decide on a few items. Helpful, checked on us frequently. Great service from everyone we encountered. Overall, it was a beautiful evening... Beautiful restaurant, great service but definitely not family friendly. There were 2 children in our party of 6 age 8 and 11. My granddaughter wanted a grilled cheese since nothing else was suitable they refused although they have cheese and bread. Just plain rude! I have an anniversary party to plan and wanted to see The Brinkerhoff and sample their menu. I showed up without a reservation at 2 in the afternoon. As one other person noted, if a customer is a single, you are relegated to a high top bar seat. I told the hostess I couldn't physically sit at a high top seat when she directed me to the bar chair. She looked me up and down. With the restaurant almost empty, I was told it would be at least 45 minutes before I could be seated at a table. I told her "no thanks" and left. Perhaps your hostess has never heard of a little law called the ADA? After retiring in Castle Rock, my husband and I have been customers of La Loma and Sierra since both restaurants opened. I've never been treated poorly as a single diner in the corporation's restaurants before. What a disappointment! read more

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at The Brinkerhoff. It is in a prime location where each table has a beautiful view of the mountains. The ambiance is breathtaking: elegant yet warm. The service was spot on. Our server, Jake, was attentive and enjoyable. But the food!! Every dish was a masterpiece. We were lucky to try 4 different appetizers and they we delicious. I highly recommend the Chicharron De Ribeye, Burrata and the Pimento Cheese Dip. We also had the Filet. The beef was high quality and it was cooked to perfection. I was so excited to try this place but was actually disappointed. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. Amazing views and just outstanding decor. But the menu, the food and the service disappoint. I realize it just opened so I'm thinking things will hopefully improve. The menu just didn't excite me. But I did have a few small heart attacks when I saw the pricing. Bottles of wine for over 2k. Steaks were over $100. It takes a lot of confidence to price your steaks at that price. Especially when you're competing with restaurants like Shanahans that make the best steak on the planet with occasional viewings of Broncos players and Mike for less. The food was just okay so I don't know why they are charging so much. Then to top things our server wasn't good at all. We knew more about the menu than him and we had just viewed it 15 minutes prior. He was extremely forgetful. As we started to order , he left us waiting 10 minutes while he went to ask if they had gluten free buns for their sandwiches and then when he returned he said he had forgotten to ask. What the heck? He then seemed completely unfamiliar with what was on the menu. The food took very long to come out and one of our entrees came way before the others. So one of us was forced to start eating seperately. I don't see how they can charge prices like this unless they are exceptional in food and service and they just aren't. I think this place would be an amazing venue for weddings and events because of its beauty and location. But for high end food, I'll stick with Shanahans or Eddie Merlot. Oh yeah, not sure why but it bugs me that they have a German name and don't have any German food. But that's probably silly of me. LOL read more
