Came here on a Tuesday around lunch and was seating a booth. It's a beautiful location with a very cute picture wall in the front. Our waitress was lovely and took good care of us. The food came out in around 5-10 minutes. All tasted delicious and we were very satisfied. We did get a role based on a picture and thought it had salmon on top, but it turns out it was a strawberry, that was a little strange, but we just took it off. I would come back when I am in the area because it is one of the few places in Castle Rock that have delicious and fresh sushi! Overall 4/5 stars! :) read more

The food was exceptional. This spot is truly one of a kind, affordable, high end, good service, great ambiance, the servers were extremely cordial taking care of refills and the tab wonderfully. The green tea was superb and the seasonal appetizers were fresh and delicious. The rolls were well rolled and full of flavor. And the miso was unique to any other spot I had been. Came here for a quick lunch on a Monday solo. It was just before 12pm and they weren't super busy which was nice to be seated immediately (I selected to sit at the sushi bar which was comfortable). The waitress was very welcoming and helpful in answering a few of my menu questions. I went with the vegetable tempura (light batter just the way I like it) and a veggie roll (fresh ingredients and heavy amount of veggies- filling). The service & food was great. Honestly, not as impressed tonight. My daughter liked her sushi, but my beef bulgogi was smaller than last time, and taste was bland. Just wasn't that great. Also, service was nonexistent. Took a long time to order our food, and once we got it, we didn't really see anyone again until we were done eating. Even when we finally got our bill, I practically had to take it to the counter myself in order to pay. 3-4 for food, 2 for service...comes out to a very mediocre 3 overall. If this was our first time here, I definitely wouldn't hurry to come back. read more

Some of the worst service I've ever experienced. While clearly low staffed, the restaurant did not seem very busy and yet our experience was horrible. We arrived at 6:00pm after placing a reservation. For 20 minutes we didn't see our waiter, finally were able to order at 6:20 but didn't even get water until 6:40 and upon asking multiple times which clearly frustrated the staff. It became clear our ticket was never sent to the kitchen. When we asked if our food had been placed, considering leaving, we were meet with immediate hostility and our server was incredibly rude. We offered to pay for the sodas that had come out but that we weren't going to wait any longer given the ticket was just processed 50 minutes into our visit. They aggressively argued that we hadn't waited long enough and needed to stay. And the manager began to yell at our server as we paid for our drinks and left. The food was great, we had Peach Sake, a variety of sushi rolls, garlic shrimp and the dinner bento box. Everything was delicious. It's a great find here in Castle Rock! read more

New place for dinner. Nice inside but he said it smelled weird. Seated right away and we decided on water and Sapporo beer. Ordered garlic shrimp appetizer. He went with beef teriyaki dinner which came with a side salad, miso soup and white rice. Alaska and California rolls, Paradise roll and I went with the tuna poke. The paradise roll is spicy crab meat, shrimp tempura, cucumber all topped with shrimp and unagi alternately. The servers were professional and pleasant. Brought me miso soup too because I had to wait for my meal. He liked the salad dressing so he actually ate the salad while I polished off both bowls of soup. The garlic shrimp was underwhelming. Breading wasn't garlicky. Tuna in poke wasn't that uber fresh but the cut was good and wasn't chewy. Too much house sauce on the fish. I prefer a light soy based sauce instead of a creamy sauce. The Alaska and California rolls were good. The rice wasn't as delish. Even the rice accompanying the teriyaki beef was not fragrant or soft. I have mixed feelings about this place. I enjoyed the dining experience but the food isn't worth the cost. It's expensive and I don't know that I want to dine here again. The teriyaki beef is a small portion and not at all like what we expected. He was disappointed in the dish. Perhaps only rolls next time. Parking lot shared with other shops in the strip mall. Su-shi means vinegared rice but very little or not a hint of vinegar rice. The Japanese is vinegar, dashi etc so it's not just sour. Service was good. read more

Not our first time here and this was about to become our go to, but no more. The chicken yakisoba and beef gyoza is great but beware the Special Spider roll, the drizzle is pure horseradish and not mentioned in the description at all. My wife is sensitive to spice at this time and ordered something specifically without, but that drizzle made it inedible. Now the part that could have been helped. After expressing that the spider roll was inedible with a sauce not mentioned on the menu... "oh sorry". Maybe a refill on our water would help, but apparently, that wasn't going to happen either. If the dish had mentioned spicy at all, that's on me, but this one does not and your other dishes do list spicy items. I hope you do better for others, we'll continue our food wanderings elseware. read more

We are always looking for our next Saturday sushi adventure and thanks to Sushi Castle we found one. We ordered the spicy yellowtail roll and it was really tasty with large chunks of fish and far from stingy on quantity! We also got the asparagus roll, spicy salmon, the Philly roll and the Full House. They were all wonderful, but the Full House stole the show! This has become one of our favorite sushi places that we've found so far! Everyone on staff was really kind, responsive and generally lovely! We will definitely be returning! Oh! Sushi Castle is a pleasant surprise! We live in Parker and were in Castle Rock and craving sushi so just went to the first place that popped up, which was Sushi Castle. We weren't expecting much, however from the moment you enter the restaurant the experience is first class. It is very clean (does not smell like fish), and they even have a selfie wall in the entryway which was cute. We were greeted and seated quickly and had two people assisting us who were so attentive and sweet! Now for the food - we had the seaweed salad, miso soup, Shake roll, Full House Roll, and the Monkey Brain Roll. Everything was fantastic and the prices are great - we even remarked how we think we'll be driving to Castle Rock for sushi from now on. There was something about that simple salmon roll that sold us - the salmon was so soft and fresh, you can tell that they buy good fish and pride themselves on quality. My family loves sushi castle! Especially my 9 year old. We have been coming here for many of his birthdays starting from when he was 4! I love the buy one get one drink special that happens all the time! Though we have only eaten sushi when we go, we haven't had one we didn't like. The staff is always attentive and polite. I came to Sushi Castle after looking at the reviews on Yelp with a group of my closest friends, all who love sushi. I have to say that we were really impressed. The sushi was excellent and you could tell all the ingredients were fresh. We also ordered the chicken gyoza and truly should've ordered more! We ordered a plate of Beef Yakiudon to share and some of us had never tried that before and LOVED it. The service was fantastic - everyone was so friendly and kept the waters and tea coming. I'd love to help this ambitious business owner fix the many issues my family experienced on our visit to Sushi Castle for dinner. For the past seven years, I've perhaps been spoiled by the AYCE sushi culture of Nevada. In Reno, sushi restaurants are busy, hip joints, frequented as much as twice weekly by locals and always counted on for an amazing meal and blindingly fast service. To be sure, everyone was blindsided by COVID restrictions and the Great Resignation. But those are straw man excuses for poor management. While the new owner may have youth and ambition, it does not appear he's learned any lessons that warrant running a business like this without an intrinsic passion for providing an amazing experience to diners. Issues observed: A long wait to be acknowledged at the host stand. A longer wait to get three glasses of water to the table. My wife had to wave the sushi order sheet in front of the seemingly annoyed host/server/busser/cashier (and owner?) to put in our order 15 minutes after being seated. The menu doesn't match the order sheet. The sushi delivered to the table doesn't match anything. The only hot food in the kid's bento were the french fries (sigh), and the steak was cold and basically tough meat strips in soy sauce. Teriyaki beef jerky is more desirable and closer to authentic Japanese flavor. Sushi is universally loved my our family, rating higher than everything else including pizza. It's disappointing to walk away from a $90 dinner for a family of three. Especially so when it's lackluster sushi. I implore the young owner to seek out a partner to help steer this local business back to the path of successfully satisfying sushi fans. There are so many opportunities to retool this small town disappointment into a potential local sushi haven. read more
