    Decadence at The Brick.

Dinner was grand...dessert was even grander. Staff were polite and efficient. Service was not real fast, but sometimes quality just takes a little while longer. We'll be returning soon to try out their $10 "Dine Early" dinners.

The drive to the speedway was approximately 40 minutes on major byways so it was a relatively convenient location to post up in for my extended weekend. The lobby of Tru was very welcoming, with an unusual main desk at the center of things instead of tucked away against a wall. There was lots of seating in this area to enjoy the included breakfast (the automatic pancake machine, oh my god so good) and to hang out or wait for others to meet up. Foosball table, large television, etc. The rooms were equally as inviting. Lots of natural light but with the ability to really black things out in the room with a roll down curtain. The non-carpeted flooring was a nice, modern change. Beds were very comfortable, sheets clean, spacious layout, flat screen tv, mini fridge, etc. In-ground indoor pool was a nice option to have during our stay. Didn't seem all that popular among the guests staying at the same time as me since it was always empty but appreciated none-the-less. The hotel itself is situated in a concrete jungle so though there was a small outdoor seating area, don't expect much ambiance in terms of the outdoor space. Located next to a gas station, food store, and some strip mall restaurants - this hotel is convenient, serviceable, and an excellent option if you are in need of a place to stay in the middle of Delaware.

Nice hotel. Clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Every hotel, I check for…read morebedbugs- no sign of any on our king bed thankfully. There were mattress protection covers, which I was happy to see. Pool water looked murky, didn't seem clean. Shame we would've totally jumped in if it looked clean. Breakfast was mediocre. Pancake machine seems like the pancakes are under cooked. Workers replenished the food but weren't cleaning off tables. Twice we had to find a rag and solution to clean off empty tables before sitting to eat. Finally the pillows are terribly soft. They feel like air but not in a good way. Price for our stay was reasonable

They texted me to let me know that an earlier arrival was possible. The front office staff is always very pleasant. We arrived just in time for the free happy hour, so we enjoyed wine & beer. The rooms are immaculate, the AC is great, and all the little touches are there. Breakfast is awesome--quite a variety: several kinds of tasty baked egg cups, hard-boiled eggs, muffins, croissants, cereals, juices, yogurts, fruit, coffee. Everything you need is there, in a great, close in location.

Contacted the manager who said they have having electrical issues. The clothes drawer in the room was old and rusty and we couldn't open it. Kept our clothes in the language in an already very small room. The room smelled moldy, old, and unpleasant. The whole "hotel" is actually an old motel that has been renovated to look modern but it's a scam. Check the square footage before you rent. Paid $250 a night for a tiny motel room pretty much. Breakfast? Hardly anything. The coffee machine was new but it took forever to make a cup of coffee. I can't imagine if there was a line of people waiting. I never felt so scammed and fooled in my life. Never again.

This hotel has so much potential but they should consider some new staff first. Check in process…read morewas fast and the hotel was super clean which checks 2 of my 3 boxes. The 3rd box would be an overall one that the hotel lacked on. The holiday inn website advertises something along the lines of "not kid approved, but kid preferred" and Holiday Inn should make this hotel change their name if this is something that they really believe. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want to sit in your room when you are here. They have a great "common area" that would be perfect but the manager is a control freak who only lets people sit in there from their UNPOSTED breakfast hours of 6am to 9am. I witnessed staff reprimanding a mom and 5 boys sitting on the couch to leave because it was after 9:30am and breakfast hours were over... If you want to stay in a hotel and have options for your family or group other than being forced to stay in your room, PLEASE do yourself a favor and AVOID this hotel! BEST thing here? Small and could have that home like appeal. WORST thing? Staff- rude, ignorant, biased toward families and kids and NO common area. Sorry Holiday Inn- This stay really left such a bitter taste that my first choices going forward will be Hilton or Marriot.
