    Sitting area inside room

Bottom Line: Adequate for a two-night stay with my husband in March. My husband and I wanted to visit some shops and restaurants in the North Rehoboth and Lewes area so this Hyatt House located in "Five Points" was the perfect location for us. It was just a few miles to historic Lewis and just a few miles to some of our favorite North Rehoboth spots. Like any hotel, this new-ish (2023 build, I think) had pros and cons. My husband and I enjoyed having some space to spread out in our King Suite during our two night stay. We enjoyed having a well lit counter space to work on a puzzle during a rainy day and we appreciated that the kitchenette has a convection oven large enough to accommodate a pizza. Smart. The actual bedroom was small and basically just fit a King size bed and two nightstands. There was very little space at the foot of the bed but there was a big TV hanging on the wall so that was nice. We had a separate TV in the sitting area but it didn't really work. There were nice big drawers for storage in the closet area which would seems helpful for those staying for longer periods. What impressed me most about the hotel was that it had a large lap pool. I am guessing it was 25 yards or close to it. I can't recall ever visiting a hotel with such a large indoor poor and I've stayed at many nice hotels and spas over the year. The gym was also a decent size as compared to the hotel. The gym had several treadmills, a rower, a stationary bike, a cable machine, some dumbbells and a handful of kettlebells. There was four of us in there doing various activities and I would say that is about the maximum number of people the gym can comfortably accommodate. The gym unfortunately was 76 degrees and there weren't any towels so I bet the four of us left plenty of sweat behind. The hotel offers breakfast which was not especially appealing so I grabbed a banana and my husband had a yogurt but we otherwise went out for breakfast. But for those just needing a quick bite, I supposed the breakfast would be good enough. This hotel was louder than most and had smoke detectors that flashed so brightly they lit up the entire room at night. As a frequent business traveler I am used to thin-walled hotels with children running the halls, people conversing in the hallways, the distant ding of the elevators and the constant clank of closing doors. For that reason, from many years of business travel I have grown accustomed to sleeping in eye shades and noise canceling headphones. I noticed that a prior guest had tried to put a band-aid over the green strobe of the smoke alarm - yes, it was that bright. Aside from the noise, the hotel was comfortable and based on its location we would stay here again.

Bathroom sink had line of black mold around edge

We were notified by email in the morning that our room was ready but upon arriving at the property more than 8 hrs later, we were told it was not ready and needed to be inspected by housekeeping supervisor. We drove over 8 hrs for a planned family reunion. When we were eventually given keys, we found air purifying unit left at the door, apparently someone's dog had an "accident" in the carpet. The room smelled badly of dog urine. Also found toilet seat up and it had hair and dried urine stuck to it. The sink had a line of black mold around the edge. There is no way the room was inspected since it hadn't even been cleaned. That was an excuse to delay our entry into the room, while someone apparently attempted to clean up the dog mess. Reported this to front desk and attempted to use ladies' room in lobby area and found that was also filthy. What is wrong with people?!? Who pees on a toilet seat? We were eventually moved to a smaller room without kitchen and that room smelled like a wet dog, the sheets and bedding were moist with dampness. We were booked for 4 nights, we left after resting a few hours and drove 10 hours home. This was the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Cannot understand how they have such high ratings on review sights. I guess if you're a dog owner and don't have to board your pet it's great, but for travelers like us this was not at all a place we would recommend or ever stay at again.

Recently planned a family trip to Rehoboth Beach and decide to stay at the Hyatt House! Equally convenient to shopping, restaurants, and beaches. We wanted to bring our dog and we enjoyed that the hotel was pet-friendly! Pet owners will receive a tag for the door letting everyone know wagging tails are around. There was a potty station outside of the hotel on the side. Some grassy area for furry friends to utilize also. Our little buddy received a goody bag for his stay that had treats and a toy inside. I thought that was a nice gesture. Initially the hotel ran out but we were able to get one for our pup before checking out. Family oriented hotel, free parking, convenient location, indoor pool, fire pit, fitness center, laundry room. The front desk staff were helpful. The hotel hosted good size rooms. The downside of our stay was that our room was next to the elevators and you would constantly hear that. The neighboring room also was loud at 2am one night and 4am another night. Aside from that it was a good trip and a decent stay. I'd consider staying again if I was in town.

I got there around 3:30 PM and there was no one there to help us check in. However, on the way I was told everything I needed to know to get in through the main door and into the room. There is a small private lot to park in plus the street is free for parking next to the building. I do not know if that becomes an issue in peak season but at least it wasn't a worry for now. The common area is super nice. It feels like being home. There was white and red wine out and soft drinks in the common fridge as well. The room itself was surprisingly large and comfortable. Everything was in place for a great stay - ample towels in the bathroom, instructions for everything including where to place used glasses and so on. Waking up breakfast was being made for any guests that wanted it. Banana pancakes with bacon and some grapefruit. It was nice to smell those smells before coming down to experience it! The only frustrating part was the initial booking. Since the single night could not be reserved online I needed to call. I was never able to call and get a person immediately. I always needed to leave a voicemail and wait for them to get back to me. Though I cannot say it was a big deal, it still does make for a bit of a hitch if you are trying to make last minute plans.

The room was clean and there was AC that, when turned On, over time cooled the room down. During the night I was awakened by the heat and found the AC was not cycling On unless the ceiling fan was On (?). There are plentiful sugary and baked goods snacks and soda in the breakfast room for anytime. The fresh fruit though was over or under ripe. The morning coffee was not hot. Breakfast did happen and I was able to enjoy a wide selection of melon and berries with yogurt that was put out buffet style. The eggs requested, came pretty much as desired. The first morning I found out the free bike option was no longer available. I must have read about bikes in the reviews but now find they are no longer available in the fine print of the booking. My pleasure in staying here always fell short. I would have enjoyed a cookie cutter motel as much. I suppose I wanted the accommodation to be as attentive as the decor pictured. Do not delay and deny the problem and hope guests will just go away after being bitten at your hotel. As a longtime Hilton Honors member (nearly 20 years, including Diamond status), this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've ever had. I stayed at Home2 Suites Lewes/Rehoboth Beach in January 2026. Before arrival, I received calls asking if I would be willing to switch from the room I originally reserved to a different room. I agreed, trying to be accommodating. Unfortunately, during the stay, I experienced what appeared to be bed bug bites and the situation quickly became distressing. What made the experience even more concerning was later learning that the same room had documented bed bug treatment activity shortly before my stay. I reported the issue immediately. Instead of transparency, accountability, or meaningful customer care, the response became focused on denial and damage control. The hotel and insurance representatives relied heavily on internal reports stating no live activity was found AFTER my complaint, while overlooking the fact that the room had already required prior treatment. To this day, the most frustrating part is not just the incident itself -- it's how it was handled afterward. I understand hotels can occasionally face pest issues. What matters is how they respond when guests raise legitimate concerns. In this case, I left feeling dismissed rather than supported. I would strongly encourage future guests to thoroughly inspect their rooms and to document everything immediately if concerns arise.
