Second time I have stayed in Lewes and the first time here. Coming off season, it was nice to be able to book a room for a single night - in this case a Sunday night. I got there around 3:30 PM and there was no one there to help us check in. However, on the way I was told everything I needed to know to get in through the main door and into the room. There is a small private lot to park in plus the street is free for parking next to the building. I do not know if that becomes an issue in peak season but at least it wasn't a worry for now. The common area is super nice. It feels like being home. There was white and red wine out and soft drinks in the common fridge as well. The room itself was surprisingly large and comfortable. Everything was in place for a great stay - ample towels in the bathroom, instructions for everything including where to place used glasses and so on. Waking up breakfast was being made for any guests that wanted it. Banana pancakes with bacon and some grapefruit. It was nice to smell those smells before coming down to experience it! The only frustrating part was the initial booking. Since the single night could not be reserved online I needed to call. I was never able to call and get a person immediately. I always needed to leave a voicemail and wait for them to get back to me. Though I cannot say it was a big deal, it still does make for a bit of a hitch if you are trying to make last minute plans. read more

We had such a great experience here. The inn is beautiful and comfortable. The room was super clean, with all the amenities you could need. The room was always serviced when we returned in the afternoon. The breakfasts were so good and the chef, Marie, is delightful. The wine and snacks in the afternoon were a pleasant way to start the evening. Bottled water, sodas and chips, etc., were always available and complimentary. The inn is walking distance to some great restaurants. We've stayed in a lot of places in the area and this was the best by far. read more

My wife and I wanted a short get-a-way and decided on Savannah Inn in Lewes, Delaware. What a wonderful property. We had a fantastic stay and the staff was great. Our breakfasts were cooked by Maria and she was very accommodating and did a fantasy's job. Our room was always clean and just perfect when we came back from the beach. Could not ask for better. Both my wife and I were happy with our choice. The only thing I could suggest, if you watch TV in the evening, as we normally do, there needs to be an upgrade on the TV's and the Xfinity boxes. The viewing brought me back to the late 90's. To some this may not be an issue but since we are not late night partiers, we do enjoy some quality viewing. Phenomenal experience for my wife and me. Calling in to inquire about availability, I actually spoke to the owner, Marion, the first time. She answered all my questions immediately and completed my reservation expeditiously. She had wine, cheese, and a nice "Happy Hour" ready for us upon arrival. Sleeping Accommodations were superb, comfortable, and quiet. Sitting Area cozy and welcoming. Classic Old House nicely updated and modernized with individual A/C in each bedroom...nice touch! Great breakfast with plenty of food to keep me full all day...skipped lunch every time. Even showing up late for Happy Hour, it was still there! Marion and Bob were so accommodating and gracious hosts! Marion sat with us multiple times to explain the area...we were house hunting...and she definitely helped with our ultimate decision on where to buy. Great local restaurants and sights! The Savannah Inn was the inn of choice for my birthday weekend get-away, and a great last-minute choice it was! We'd never been to Lewes/Rehobeth besides a quick drive through a couple years back, and it was time to come explore this historic seaside town. Sisters Mary and Kathy are the new owners- and as the Yelp reviews indicate, things were great under the old owners, but to my evaluation, everything has stayed the same or better! Both were friendly and accomadating, making sure all guests were fully fed, watered, and happy when leaving the breakfast tables. Breakfasts during our visits were french toast and quiche, both served with bacon or sausage, with a full side table of fruit, yogurt, cereal, and juices. Breakfasts were delicious and filling! A late afternoon offering of snacks, cheese and wine also were welcome. The house itself is clean, cheery, modern, and very comfortable. Mattresses and pillows were comfortable, rooms were well-insulated from the noise/tv's of other guests and outdoor traffic, and the decor is new and tasteful. We stayed in the third-floor room that faced the front (Savannah Road), and it was quiet to all noise outside. Bikes are available to rent, and there are some outdoor porch areas which we did not utilize due to the November weather. Walk time to Second Street shopping and dining was only 5 minutes. We were enamored with the town of Lewes, and part of the memory will be the Savannah Inn. The B&B is a big part of the overall picture of a weekend retreat, and we really enjoyed our experience. If there were 10 stars here it still wouldn't be enough! We picked the Inn based on reviews, and wow we were blown away beyond what we expected. The innkeeper Mary is wonderful, attentive, thorough and supportive. Diane and Roweena are terrific housekeepers, paying attention and helping with any room need. And Marion the owner is so friendly, encouraging, and also providing everything you need... amazing. The breakfasts are well done and delicious, options available if necessary, along with full fruit and juice. Coffee is excellent, a local personal blend. 24/7 Keurig is a great help, and the happy hour is also a terrific add on. We enjoyed coffee in the evening with a bit of the desserts left from happy hour!(shhhh). Other guests were very nice and provided appropriate conversations. The inn common spaces and rooms are beautifully decorated, are kept like new, and had everything we needed. If the weather was cooler we envisioned sitting on the porch, in the back yard, or anywhere to enjoy all of the property. Bikes and beach materials are available as well. You can't come up with anything they missed here. It is absolutely perfect. Thanks for a wonderful visit; we will return. (Baltimore is only a short drive away!). Just go! PS: the small town is a very short walk, and restaurants are plentiful. You should drive to the beach, only a few minutes right down the road. read more

We vacationed here Summer 2014 and came back just this past weekend for Memorial Day. The Inn is exactly how we remembered it - clean, bright, everything looks brand new, and beautiful. The new owners are just are nice and great cooks as the last! We stayed for 3 days and each breakfast was delicious - vegetable frittata, blueberry and pecan bread pudding, and corned beef eggs Benedict. Also served with sides of fresh fruit, juices, and baked goods. Our room was cleaned every day while we were out at the beach. Last time we stayed in the Garden Zen room and this time the Sol Shine room. There is complimentary wifi and cable tv in room. Plenty of parking. Shower pressure was fantastic. I love everything about this B&B! Like what you ask? Location: It's tucked away in Lewes, DE close to beaches and a state park. Within walking distance are restaurants, a farmer's market and some little boutiques. So, the location is great if this is the area you're looking to visit. House: A beautifully renovated house with a big living room, dining room, kitchen, and porch as common space. I came here with 8 girls celebrating a bachelorette party and we had plenty of room to play games and hang out. There's plenty of fridge space to pack in beer to ensure a good time as well, whether with friends or with that special someone. And, best of all, the house is kept spic-n-span, which is always so refreshing. Owners: Gina and Rosie were incredible hosts. IMO, the best B&B's are the ones where you really feel like you're home. Here at Savannah Inn, they really made us feel welcomed to use the fridge, kitchen + utensils, games + books. That makes the stay so much more homey. Rooms: Awesome rooms, all with private baths. The rooms are decorated with good style (not at all tacky like some older B&Bs), comfortable beds and sheets, and like the rest of the house impeccably clean. Breakfast: Special menu each day, but so accommodating. The really neat thing is that Gina uses the common kitchen so you can watch her cook and chat with her. They definitely take the time out to chat and get to know you during breakfast. They're locals and very knowledgeable so definitely ask for their recommendations around the area! Great way to start a morning - good food and making friends. I couldn't ask for anything more in my stay at Savannah Inn. I couldn't recommend this place enough. My husband and I recently stayed for two nights to attend a wedding in Lewes. The house is large, beautifully renovated, and in a great location conveniently placed near Lewes's historic downtown. We were able to walk to the beach and 2nd Street, the main strip littered with great little restaurants and shops. Best of all, the staff was wonderfully accommodating of my vegan diet. When we booked our room, I made a note that I was vegan, but I usually assume I'm going to be eating a cliff bar for breakfast. Not here! Each morning was a wonderful surprise, first with vegan banana french toast and the second morning with a tofu scramble! And my husband, who is not vegan, still got to enjoy eggs and sausage. The location and the facilities are both excellent. Near the beach but not in tourist chaos. Modern, up to date furnishings (excluding the analog TV), kept immaculately. Tom, the innkeeper retained by the new owners (who purchased the inn in early 2017), was welcoming, had great local suggestions and serves delicious coffee. It is, however, not inexpensive, especially when the included breakfast is frankly average in quality (although the fruit was fresh and very tasty). I doubt we shall be returning. Perhaps you will have a better experience than did we; clearly, from the others' ratings, they were doing something right. Maybe we just were there on an off day. read more

We stayed here for a long weekend and had an amazing experience at this property. The inn keepers were friendly and accommodating and made our stay very pleasant. All of the spaces -rooms to kitchen - were kept clean and we could tell the property is well managed and cared for. The bonus for us was use of the property's yoga studio for morning workouts. What can I say about this perfect find? I selfishly do not want word to get out....but in deference to the wonderful owners, I must tell you all about it! Gina Hastings is an energetic, adorable, spritely young woman, with excellent taste in decor - and a skilled cook. We had a spanking clean room on the third floor with skylights and a view of a magnificent Copper Beech- just about to bloom. The shower was extra large with a seat. The mattress was super comfy and Gina kindly removed the down pillows from the room for me. We had access to a fridge outside of our room and off the kitchen as well. There was always fruit and little treats available. Breakfasts were superb. Gina made us Belgium waffles covered in fresh "lemon scented" whipped cream, blueberries and strawberries. She also made little frittatas and had yogurt and cereals available - and even H.M. granola. The next morning she made cranberry-orange French toast with perfectly done bacon, and also little mini muffin sized mozzarella frittatas, and a fresh fruit salad with walnuts, apples, and pear. Gina's mother Rosanne, comes in to help out and is a delight. What a kind and down to earth family. Even Turner, Gina's husband, stopped by to say hello with their friendly-but-well mannered pooch, Auggie. They renovated a completely gutted Victorian and appointed it with modern furniture, simple, clean lines, and beautiful calming wall colors. The wrap around porch is inviting with plenty of chairs. We had breakfast there the first morning - it is heated- so no worries. There are DVDs, and a cool game table for guests. Best of all, the quaint and historic town of Lewes is a quick 2 blocks down the street. You can park you car at the Inn and walk everywhere. I highly recommend the restaurants and shops in Lewes. The happy hour deals are amazing - be sure to check them out. Sunsets from the bridge are divine. We hope to return again and again to this great find! read more

When you stay at a B&B you expect certain things - nice place to sleep, good food, close to attractions, etc. What we got was soooo much more. While the Copper Beach room was quite a bit more pricey than we usually spend, the attention to detail in this room measured against the cost. It has a private entrance, sitting room, large steam & water shower, king size bed, refrigerator, and tons of space. It even has it's own private porch under the shade of an old tree. PERFECT. Than throw in the awesome hosts, beautiful decour throughout, gluten free breakfasts, proximity to the beach and quaint shopping area, close parking, and house dog Auggie and you have an ultra fun weekend!!!! My wife and I stayed two nights over the weekend of July 10th. We were in town for a family reunion and needed to find a place to stay on fairly short notice. We stumbled upon the Savannah Inn and luckily they had availability! The room was immaculate, the building itself was charming, and the staff was INCREDIBLE! They were so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious. Everyone was just happy all the time: the staff, the other guests, and my wife and I. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. This place was great! We stayed for two nights and loved it. It is about 2 blocks from the shops and restaurants, so it is nice to be able to walk home from dinner at night. Our room and bathroom were both clean and updated, they provided DVDs and books that you could bring to your room as well as board games that can be played in the common area. The breakfast was excellent with a nice variety of food and drinks. One morning we had lemon ricotta pancakes and the second morning we had an omelette with tons of options of veggies, cheeses meat etc.Overall it was a great place and very relaxing. My girlfriend and I came here for a three day trip. We were immediately pleased upon entering the inn. It's clean and cozy with plenty of indoor and outdoor lounging areas. Mary greeted us outside of scheduled check-in hours just to accommodate our plans. She is incredibly friendly and helpful. We stopped by for one short night and wish we could have stayed longer! They were able to book us a room on the quiet too floor last minute while also offering a 10% military discount, wow! Our room had a private bathroom which we believed was recently remodleed. The fixtures were very nice and there was tv with cable. From the inn you are less than a 5 minute walk to the main part of town. Breakfast was homemade and a fun twist on banana French toast! The inn has a closed in porch where you can enjoy your breakfast as well. Although we didn't have a specific preference, they even asked us when we checked in if we had any good allergies. Gina is a warm owner and her mom, Roseanne is terrific as well adding all to the hospitality and charm of this place.(Kelsey as well made us feel welcome.) The food was fresh and terrific. Did not need a frig in our room as it was a delight having the one to share on our floor. Great idea. So grateful we had one night to stay here. Next time, we will try to stay longer. read more

From the moment you enter this Victorian home you're welcomed with bright eyes and smiles at your arrival (and not in a weird way) the place is very motherly in that they are willing to go above and beyond their normal routine to fit your needs. If I said I wanted something that they didn't already have I'm pretty sure Mary would've run out and picked some up. There are several lounges with chairs and coffee tables to grab a mug and chill out for the morning if you want. If you want to go out and hang in lewes the Savannah inn crew will tell you the hotspots. We've already decided to go back this October if we can get a room. You've got to be quick to get a room at this B&B because it's so amazing. Complimentary breakfast with the other residents really starts the day out right, in company different company and normally in the morning I don't want to talk to people. But the Savannah in was a good place to start Room was great except our overhead fan was broken. The owner herself came by to fix it while we weren't there but we'd left the do not disturb door hanger out so she respected our wishes and moved on. Luckily it was 40 degrees outside so we didn't need the fan too bad. Kelly's massage therapy session was extraordinary for me as it was my first ever massage. Mary was fantastic and she cooked and served an awesome breakfast. We really enjoyed our three night stay. It is within walking distance to local restaurants & shopping. We stayed here last weekend while exploring the area in Lewes what a lovely property. Everything is bright and new and very beachy. You can walk to the beach, restaurants, bars and clubs it's very close to all the activity in Lewes. The innkeepers Pam and Tom are so interesting and Tom is a fantastic cook. There are a lot of things to do in Lewes and a weekend is not enough time. Our room could not of been better bright cheery comfortable every detail was covered. Of all the B&Bs I've stayed in, this one has the best decor by far. Usually, B&Bs tend to have a "your grandma's house on steroids" style decor, but this place was very fresh and contemporary. It's actually decorated the way one might want their own house to look, which was definitely refreshing. And no kids are allowed (I think), which is a also big plus. Our room and bathroom were nice, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and it's a short (two block) walk to "downtown" Lewes. The breakfast was good (especially the inventive fruit salads). In short, I'd probably stay here again if I were returning to Lewes. read more

We just returned from an utterly perfect stay at the Savannah Inn in Lewes. The house is absolutely beautiful and the renovations are top notch. The owners did not skimp on anything. The beds are comfortable, the sheets and towels first rate, and the decor is wonderfully modern (yet completely comfortable). Gina is a sweetheart and made us feel completely at home. The locations is perfect for a quiet weekend getaway...walking distance to charming downtown Lewes and less than five minutes to the Lewes-Cape May ferry and less than ten to Cape Henlopen State Park. The common areas of the house are wonderful as well and the breakfasts were lovely (a bit fancy for my husband's taste, although he ate every bite.) I echo the previous poster.... I feel obligated to tell everyone I know about this perfect B&B, even though my heart wants me to keep it to myself to guarantee our room is waiting for us when we go back. Truly a wonderful experience! Our hosts were very kind, helpful, and pleasant. The room was immaculately kept, attractive, and with a surprisingly spacious shower and bathroom.
