We were here for my birthday in April. The place is really cool directly facing the water front. Beach is a short walk. Since it was raining we missed the beach due to bad weather. But the place was nice. The rooms itself were spacious and looked recently renovated. I liked that they are dog friendly and we had the dog package which had dog treats and dog bowl. They provided beach towels and umbrellas which was nice. They didnt have much selection of the dogfish beer which I thought would have been nice. Also coffee is available downstairs only in the mornings with no coffee maker in the room. So that was a drawback for me. But overall the town itself is nice with very friendly and welcoming people. I highly recommend this place. Also their beer soap is a too good. Must try!! read more

Stayed here for just a night in October, mid-week. It's a fun spot with a couple dozen rooms and a clubhouse. A modern motel, with lots of Dog Fish Branding! We checked in later than expected and the staff was accommodating to our needs and helpful all around. The clubhouse presents ample seating to relax, coffee, and wall of swag from which to purchase. Nearby, there's an outdoor fitepit/seating area, which is great for socializing, sipping a beverage, and hearing some tunes (someone had a guitar). The room is spacious and thoughtfully curated with Dogfish items. Some are for use, others are to keep or purchase. We received a complimentary glass growler and beer soap. The room also has a fridge, TV, noise machine, and a small couch. If we stayed here longer than a night, the Inn gives guests free access to coolers, beach chairs, bikes, and much more. Awesome spot. This is one of our favorite hotels we've ever stay at and we would totally come back here in a heartbeat! We did a weekend here and loved being able to get a ride to and from the brewery from the inn, which is fantastic. Our room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was also very spacious and the beer soap is amazing (we definitely bought some to bring home). The cold brew coffee was also amazing and we learned how to make cold brew from Chris (a great guy, hope he's still there!). The fire pit outside was also great and this is such a great place to stay and chill for a while. If you're planning on visiting Lewes or just Dogfish Head in general, do yourself a favor and stay here! read more

When you pull in you are not expecting much with what seems to be just another motel experience. In fact, outside the name, if it wasn't for the Yelp reviews this place would have never been on my radar at all. However, the check - in lobby is nothing like what you see in a standard motel. The service is super friendly, and they give you a great overview of your amenities, which include a weather - permitting fire pit next to the office at night. Entering the room, the first thing you notice is the cleanliness and the attention to detail. Yes, all the amenities that were mentioned are there and more, plus everything is spotless and in perfect order. All the branded items in the room are available for purchase at the desk, but the growler you get to keep for free and can be filled at the place around the corner if desired. The rooms are small. The beds are comfortable. The showers are spacious and that includes the vertical dimension as well. Overall, a five - star experience in a motel? Yes, it is possible. The only downside is that it seems parking can get a bit tight when everyone is in for the night. read more

What an awesome little place this is.! Wow.! We are coming from Vegas (which most people would think OMG that's awesome, but no! It's not! Only because Vegas pushes people around so much just to get to the next person). We arrived at this amazing place to be greeted by an awesome guy who took the time to get to know us, tell us all about the sights around the INN and pretty much gave us a play by play about what's in the room! He made it a very pleasant arrival. Once we got to the room we saw that it's super nice, the bed is very comfy, they have an awesome growler for you! A fridge and microwave. I mean they have everything you need. We were VERY pleased with the dogfish inn room AND staff.! Only thing that would have made this over the top is if Mr. Calagione was here himself.! Stayed at DF Inn years ago in 2014, and was lucky enough to return with my lovely girlfriend for a midweek anniversary getaway. We couldn't have had a better time, and are excited for a return. The staff is fabulous, and so helpful. The location is perfect, where you can easily walk to anywhere in Lewes and the hustle and bustle of Rehoboth and Dewey are short drives away. The Inn itself is unique, well-appointed and comfortable. Beds are super comfortable, bathrooms are roomy and water pressure is awesome. Tons of amenities that you wouldn't get at other places, including complimentary bikes, delicious coffee every morning and beach bags and chairs. The team was able to get us a reservation at the Brewpub for dinner, which was awesome because summer there are normally monster waits. We liked the nightly fire pit as well, super lovely. There is nothing more adorable than this inn. Without the tony cost, too! It's a perfect mix of DFH meets camping and fishing. You begin by checking into what was likely a white brick barn or shop. It's an a charming space where you will find chicory coffee, water, games, merchandise and a lending library. The library was designed for the Inn by the famous City Lights in San Francisco. The rooms are classic inn style with a big picture window that is outfitted with stools and a ledge. The beds are very comfortable perched on platforms. Don't miss the DFH items from the beer soap to the beer buckets to the little growler you may take on the house with you! They offer beach chairs and a beach bag to use while here. There is a perfect, not over priced, small minor bar. It does not include beer. However, R&L liquors is a five minute walk away. They are open until 10. They have all the DFH items at the same price as the brewery! You can bring back you finds and put them in your mini fridge. Beach towels are also not in your room - bring your own. It's rustic quaint. The bathroom has a modern, big shower though. With fluffy big towels. Perfect for freaking up after using the free bikes or before enjoying the evening fire. The restaurant next door delivers until 9pm. If you love DFH as much as my family, then speed down or up 95 immediately! It's a special place. The staff will make you feel like a million bucks. The stay was fun but the rooms are very thin between floors and didn't sleep well due to noise. The air unit is strange and it's hard to get the room to a decent temperate. By far one of best places on beach. First Class Operation, from construction materials, and design, to management and staff. It starts from the top, Sam and Micah!(hope got latter name correct, been a while since i was on website). Spent many summers in Greek Islands, and room was very similar/ MOdern, clean. Lewes is quite unlike redneville, Myrtle Beach with nightly fireworks that made me cut vacation short , forfeiting rent, in order for my dog not to have heart attack from fireworks noise. We stayed in room number lucky 7. Bottom floor, end spot facing the main road. Man, those are some good windows bc we could not hear anything. We slept like champions. Maybe it was the snuggling with the Woolrich for Dogfish blanket. Whatever you thought you would need for a getaway in the coastal Delaware town of Lewes, the Inn has gotten you covered. Beach cruiser - check Beach chairs for two - check Cooler for your brewskies - check Super swanky Apolis bag - check The details in the room from the old fashion key chains with actual keys, to the treasure map, to the welcome growler for you to take and fill, to the beer soap, and toiletry products, to the magnetic light by the bedside, everything was so well thought out. The Inn grounds itself is small, but not limited to different places to lounge around. Inside is cozy with a captains lounge kind of vibe. Outside the cauldron fire pit is awesome, with benches around it with life jackets attached to the back for cushioning. They have every yard game you can think of. Outside showed available to rinse off your beach sand. Morning coffee starts brewing at 7am for the early risers and I swear tastes like unicorn tears bc you get to drink it out of their personal Dogfish Inn camper mugs. But the kicker, the Inn is dog friendly. Yup, mans best friend can join Ya. I absolutely love my Inn experience and will be regular visitors for our weekend getaways. read more

I am so disappointed in Dogfish Head Inn. I booked this room for my fiance because we're getting married at the end of June, and while traveling from Texas to Delaware we were going to stay at this hotel for a night. Due to unfortunate scheduling, I had to cancel in hopes to just change it to another date. Today I find out that there is a TWENTY FIVE dollar cancellation fee, and yes it does say it in tiny print at the bottom of the email but I didn't see that as it was difficult in the first place to get the email sent to me after making reservations over the phone. I will probably never book this hotel in the future because I don't want to be charged the $25 if something happens. I've stayed in MANY hotels in my life with all my traveling and this fee is a first for me. It kind of turns me away from Dogfish, which is too bad since they are the ones who started the craft beer scene. Oh well-- onto another hotel! read more

We have stayed at the Dogfish Inn multiple times over the last 6 years and it has never disappointed us. Friendly staff and a great location in Lewes, DE are key (with easy access to Rehobeth as well). The rooms are shabby chic and simple but always clean with incredibly comfortable beds and the rooms are stocked with everything a visitor needs -- Beach chair? Check. Umbrella? Check. Bottle opener and good snacks? Check. Malin+Goetz bath products are also a nice plus. Consistently positive experience and will keep coming back. read more

My parents live in Lewes and I've been coming to this cute little town way before the Inn moved in. I've always wanted an excuse to stay there, my sister's wedding this past weekend was the perfect opportunity. I cannot express how much I enjoyed staying here. Every single person I met was helpful, friendly, and fun. The rooms were gorgeous and clean, very sleek and modern. Super comfortable bed, delightful, spacious shower. I literally have zero complaints. I even got a text from the Inn telling me to come "hang fireside" with Sam Calagione, the founder of Dogfish Head. I missed the opportunity due to the wedding- but how cool is that?? I 100% recommend this place. Absolutely a must for beer lovers and non-beer lovers alike. read more

Pricey but a super cute place to stay with your pup. The rooms are renovated and smell delightfully like eucalyptus. The room came equipped with hardwood floors, comfy beds, a dohm elite sound machine, a fridge stocked with Dogfish Head beer, and beach chairs to use. In the lobby there's free coffee, fruit infused water, and s'mores ingredients to use at the fire pit. There is also a shower/ dog washing station and free bike rental. The entire team there is friendly and accommodating. The Inn is walking distance to many restaurants and shops and only a short drive to the public beach and Cape Henlopen (where the dog friendly beaches are located). Slight negative is we were on the first floor and could hear our upstairs neighbors moving around. Overall enjoyed my stay here and would consider returning for another dog friendly vacation! read more

I have been looking for an excuse to stay here since they opened in July. My excuse came this week in the form of condo hunting in Lewes. I checked in for one night during the "off season" and the Inn (ideally situated across from Second Street, where most of this beautiful town's shops and restaurants are located) and town were definitely sleepy- JUST what I was looking for. The Inn itself is a gutted out, completely renovated rehab of a fleabag motel that stood there for years. Every aspect of the design was thoughtfully executed. When I checked in, there was a cozy fire lit (and a long wooden table filled with visiting micro brewers playing cards)and a friendly, but not overwhelmingly gracious receptionist who quickly checked me in, gave me some quick hits about Dogfish Head and Lewes and handed me a key to my room (not a card entry key, but an actual key- how old school :-) Then there was the room. Just simple, stream lined comfort. Big plush bed with down comforter and a Woolrich wool throw on the top. Sparse, but tactical furniture. Lots of clean lines and extra special touches such as soap made at the Dogfish brewery and Malin + Goetz bath products (another side note: the room smelled great...very woodsy/oak smell...nice). Beautiful bathroom with a sleek shower with excellent water pressure, too. I was beat from my travels, and the comfortable bed and the stillness of the inn and town all ensured a sound nights sleep. The next morning, at check out, there was a most excellent chicory stout coffee, out for guests. The staff was genuinely friendly and we chatted about the growth of Dogfish Head and the fact that they did not want the Inn to be perceived as a "party hotel". In fact, beer is not sold in rooms and their mission is to tell guests about where brews are being offered around the beaches to promote local businesses. Great ethos. This is a unique and fantastic place to stay at the DE beaches. A higher end, but not stuffy inn that I will definitely return to and would highly recommend to anyone heading that way. read more

We absolutely loved our stay here, perhaps me more than my wife. Over Thanksgiving weekend the peaceful little town of Lewes was a delight with the Dogfish Inn at the heart. It was like coming back home to a home you never knew. Every little detail in the room was accounted for with the rustic, minimalist design. We enjoyed the use of the comfortable bed, IPA glasses for pouring beer, and even the radio with its auxiliary wire made it easy to listen to some Black Keys while sipping Punkin Ale. The bathroom was beautifully made with an oversized sink, open space tiled shower, stocked with beer soap, rum body wash & cilantro shampoo. I don't know if I was bathing or cooking, but with the steam in the room it could have gone either way. The cottage was warmed by a wood burning fireplace and several kind inn keepers throughout our stay. They were warm, friendly and very helpful. My first morning there I met Andrew and Anthony who told me the stories of how the chicory stout coffee was made (brought home 2 ponds to enjoy at home), where the juniper was harvested that made the room and the cottage smell so good. They told me that anyone staying there can make a reservation at the brewpub or brewery as special guests, so of course I had to take them up on the offer. My only disappointment was that I had to leave, and missed the fireside chat with Sam that happened at the outdoor fire-pit right next to the cottage. Perhaps when I come back! Whether you are looking for a warm place to stay in the winter, a great beach inn or want to take in all the treasures on the treasure map in the slower lower, this is the place to be. This was my first visit to Lewes, DE, and Rehoboth Beach. My wife and I spent a night at the Dogfish to attend a family gathering on 4/24/22. I chose this inn based on the fact it was close to the rest of my family and that it was dog-friendly. When I pulled into their lot to register, I felt pings of disappointment. The parking area was made of crushed stone and not paved as you might expect. Did I make a huge mistake? All my doubts were erased as I registered and received my key to room 4. The desk clerk was a very valuable asset to this motel. Friendly, accomodating, over-the-top customer service, and explained every amenity that was offered to the guests. When I entered the room, I was literally floored but the elegance and decor. The beds were extra-super comfy with lots of pillows. The walk-in shower was SO nice with very hot water and great pressure. The TV had more channels than I could imagine with great, current films to watch. And, the location was central to just about any place you wished to go. I've stayed at many 4 star hotels that weren't as nice as the Dogfish Inn! Hopefully, we'll get back to visit again to experience more of Lewes and Rehoboth, and this will definitely be our go-to place. Thank you so much for such a pleasant stay and experience! read more

Wow. What an amazing time. The Dogfish Inn is a great place to relax and chat about family and brew. The staff was the most friendly I have ever been acquainted with and the amenities were stellar. You had fresh brewed Dogfish Chicory coffee and cold water with fruit available for you at all times. The rooms are immaculate and modern in the typical Dogfish Head style. There is a fire cauldron set up every night if you want to relax on the premises. Sam Calagione (founder, owner, brewmaster) even came over to hang out, chat, and drink a couple beers. You can walk right into town and there are plenty of restaurants and shops. Only half a mile from the bay which is perfect for kids. It was the perfect place to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. I have nothing but praise for this place! My wife and I love Dogfish beer, so we had to go stay in the motel. We arrived to a friendly staff member who was giving us info on the motel as well as the area. It is also nice to hang in the lounge to drink a cup of coffee and play board games. The room itself was kitschy and cozy. The king size bed was incredibly comfortable like a cloud. It was also nice to receive a free growler to get filled and drink at the inn. Every staff memeber made our honeymoon special and made sure it would continue at their other venues. I would love to stay back there again because they made our weekend enjoyable and memorable. read more

What a weekend!! I can't begin to thank the employees at the Inn. Called to set up a single night stay in the off season, we love Lewis and took the short drive. Before check in we ran to the outlets, and I received a text that the room was ready early! Unfortunately car broke down and I had to relay the info, which wasn't a problem. Long story short, we were stranded for an additional night and got a LATE checkout. They were so accommodating for us. The second day, it poured all day and was not a walking around kinda day in February. The staff brought over a six pack of the new Hazy-o. "If your stuck in the room all day, might as well have a good beer!" I will never stay anywhere else in Lewis, they have adopted the dogfish way of life and Sam should be proud. I was super excited to secure a two-night reservation at Dogfish Inn for the Weekend of Compelling Ales and Spirits. However, unfortunately, three days prior to the trip, I experienced an emergency that prevented me from arriving the first night. I immediately called to try to change my reservation to just one night, and was told there was a two-night minimum, so I would still be charged for the first night anyway. Noted. I then asked about the cancellation policy. Sadly (for me), the Inn's cancellation policy is ONE WEEK. To be fair, after reviewing my initial reservation confirmation, the cancellation policy was included in the original email. But in a "post-COVID" world when most airlines, hotels, and travel companies have eased cancellation policies, I didn't imagine that I'd find myself in a booking that required a WHOLE WEEK. Also, while the receptionist/concierge was relatively pleasant, it was very clear there would be absolutely no exceptions or concessions. Definitely something to be aware of if you're making a reservation! read more

We went, because I like Dogfish Head beers and thought it'd be a neat place to stay close to the Brew pub. But the Inn (although a great advertisment for the different Dogfish Head products) Stands on it own as a fantastic place. The Staff was welcoming and friendly as soon as we got there, and continued with the great hospitality, until we had to leave. The outside of the hotel is deceiving. It was an old run down motel that they have refurbished. Our room was very nice cozy, studio type, with a King bed. The Inn, like Lewes itself, is pet friendly. And not just friendly, but excited to meet your pet and make sure they are just as comfortable as you are. Our 130 lb. Newfoundland puppy was greeted by everyone who worked there and loved up as if he belonged to the Inn. I cannot recommend this place more. It is a little pricey, but for the great service/hospitality and the location (close to Rehoboth Beach, downtown Lewes and Rt. 1) it's we'll worth it. They do offer special packages for their brewery and pub activities, but we didn't do these. They are more than happy to accommodate your needs in regards to that at the lobby desk. read more

My Better Half surprised me with a short 3-day stay at the Inn for my birthday. Having traveled the world and pretty much the entire rest of the US East Coast, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience -- especially the customized "Happy Birthday..." message on our room's door done with magnetic letters. The location gave us great opportunity to walk around town and to the beach (although we did drive over to Henlopen State Park to actually spend time on the beach -- highly recommended). It also provides a really nice alternative to staying in the (IMHO) overcrowded Rehoboth area, yet isn't too far away to keep you from going to DFH's Chesapeake and Maine restaurant. Overall, I really enjoyed our stay the Dogfish Inn -- we will likely stay there again in the future. read more

We had a great stay at the Dogfish Inn! The bed was very comfortable, the whole place has a mid-century modern style, which was a refreshing throwback to a simple way of life. Upon checking in, the innkeeper handed over ACTUAL keys! Our room was clean and comfortable and full of great thoughtful items like the free growler to fill with great Dogfish Head Craft beers, the beer soap bar in every room, and the beach chairs and beach bag in every room for guests to use. We rented the loft space for our second night there and it was equally comfortable with a full sitting room/kitchen space and two bedrooms. The inn also has a team of beach comber bikes for guests to ride down to the beach or around town. It was a fun way to get an up close view of the area. The people we met while there were kind and helpful and encouraged us to visit again. We will return to Lewes, and the Dogfish will be our home away from home. read more

A great small motel close to everything in Lewes, we found the Dogfish Inn to be a very comfortable place to stay. Beds were comfortable, pillows amply sized. The aesthetic is clean, spare, and nautical. I loved the hardwood floors setting it apart from most hotels. We had a nice large sink, and a great big shower head with excellent water pressure. Beach chairs were provided, and there are bikes to borrow, too. The only thing I think would be an improvement would be additional rooms, as of now there are under 30, so it fills up quickly. read more

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Dogfish Inn. The staff was warm and super knowledgeable about all things happening in the area. The rooms are a bit pricey but the ambiance is worth it. There was beer soap in our room (which smelled amazing), a free growler for us to take to the brew pub, nice beach chairs, great smelling toiletries, and free Chicory Stout coffee and cold brew in the lobby. We also really loved sitting by the fire pit at night, drinking the beer we got from the brew pub, and making s'mores (which they provide all the ingredients for free). When we travel, we try to stick to local inns and bed and breakfasts. The Dogfish Inn is one of the examples as to why you should do so. We checked in at 3:30 and were greeted with a smile and quickly checked in. They called to the brewery to ensure we got a spot on one of their tours. Parking is simple and once in Lewes you can walk around to food, cute stores, and bars. There is a fire pit that they keep going until 10, which was amazing on this unseasonably warm December day. The room itself is great. The shower was huge and the water hot. The bed was comfortable and blankets made it hard to get out of bed in the morning.
