Somewhat dated motel near the beach with tired but clean facilities, family-friendly with cheerful staff. Pros: * *really* family-friendly - great lobby with toys and puzzles for the kids, decent midsized if somewhat odd pool via a second-floor causeway. * *very* friendly staff * location can't be beat - a long block to the beach, a very scenic block the other way to the short but quaint and fun downtown Lewes, a mile and a half from Cape Henlopen State Park (and beach) and a mile or so from the ferry. Perfect if you want a Lewes getaway and you want to leave your car in Cape May. * clean, in our experience. Cons: * a bit noisy, and that's not just because we were noisy. * expensive in season; we got stuck with a nearly undiscounted rate because of the way we made our reservation, for a larger single room that could sleep four, and it ran us $290 once all the taxes, etc. were counted in. * almost no amenities: thin coffee in the lobby and basic toiletries, that's it. The TV was an old CRT with snow on half the cable channels. Nickelodeon's audio kept dropping out for reasons unbeknownst to us. * no elevator, narrow stairs = logistic "fun" with any amount of luggage. So, this sort of adds up to a classic three stars - pros balance the cons, it really depends on what your tolerance for the cons vs. your appetite for the pros are. Note there's a "deli" two doors down on the ground floor that serves breakfast starting at 7, which suffices for basic nutrition.

    View from third floor balcony.

Great place to stay. A bit older but everything was clean. Has a second floor outdoor pool. We had a standard room. King sized bed, tv, chair, desk, balcony and bathroom. Nothing else needed. Location is the best part about this place. Bike rental store next door on one side and a pub on the other. Friendly staff. Can walk into town or to lewes beach. Great restaurants in town. Will definitely come again.

Nearby, there's an outdoor fitepit/seating area, which is great for socializing, sipping a beverage, and hearing some tunes (someone had a guitar). The room is spacious and thoughtfully curated with Dogfish items. Some are for use, others are to keep or purchase. We received a complimentary glass growler and beer soap. The room also has a fridge, TV, noise machine, and a small couch. If we stayed here longer than a night, the Inn gives guests free access to coolers, beach chairs, bikes, and much more. Awesome spot. Highly recommend!

We did a weekend here and loved being able to get a ride to and from the brewery from the inn, which is fantastic. Our room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. The cold brew coffee was also amazing and we learned how to make cold brew from Chris (a great guy, hope he's still there!). I got there around 3:30 PM and there was no one there to help us check in. However, on the way I was told everything I needed to know to get in through the main door and into the room. There is a small private lot to park in plus the street is free for parking next to the building. I do not know if that becomes an issue in peak season but at least it wasn't a worry for now. The common area is super nice. It feels like being home. There was white and red wine out and soft drinks in the common fridge as well. The room itself was surprisingly large and comfortable. Everything was in place for a great stay - ample towels in the bathroom, instructions for everything including where to place used glasses and so on. Waking up breakfast was being made for any guests that wanted it. Banana pancakes with bacon and some grapefruit. It was nice to smell those smells before coming down to experience it! The only frustrating part was the initial booking. Since the single night could not be reserved online I needed to call. I was never able to call and get a person immediately. I always needed to leave a voicemail and wait for them to get back to me. Though I cannot say it was a big deal, it still does make for a bit of a hitch if you are trying to make last minute plans.

This faded quickly at the entry level with a strong smell of wet dog, followed by no cooling on the interior. The pictures on the internet are dated and things are cluttered now. The room I booked was not the room held, but since it was a weekday I could have my pick of the 3 front rooms, none of them the one I booked (?). The room was clean and there was AC that, when turned On, over time cooled the room down. During the night I was awakened by the heat and found the AC was not cycling On unless the ceiling fan was On (?). There are plentiful sugary and baked goods snacks and soda in the breakfast room for anytime. The fresh fruit though was over or under ripe. The morning coffee was not hot. Breakfast did happen and I was able to enjoy a wide selection of melon and berries with yogurt that was put out buffet style. The eggs requested, came pretty much as desired. The first morning I found out the free bike option was no longer available. I must have read about bikes in the reviews but now find they are no longer available in the fine print of the booking. My pleasure in staying here always fell short. I would have enjoyed a cookie cutter motel as much. I suppose I wanted the accommodation to be as attentive as the decor pictured. Then, as mentioned, the pictures are from some time in the past.

Outlet malls, Cape Henlopen State Park, Cape May - Lewes Ferry Terminal and Rehoboth Beach are all an easy drive. The location is ideal. My room was quite comfortable. Do not delay and deny the problem and hope guests will just go away after being bitten at your hotel. As a longtime Hilton Honors member (nearly 20 years, including Diamond status), this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've ever had. I stayed at Home2 Suites Lewes/Rehoboth Beach in January 2026. Before arrival, I received calls asking if I would be willing to switch from the room I originally reserved to a different room. I agreed, trying to be accommodating. Unfortunately, during the stay, I experienced what appeared to be bed bug bites and the situation quickly became distressing. What made the experience even more concerning was later learning that the same room had documented bed bug treatment activity shortly before my stay. I reported the issue immediately. Instead of transparency, accountability, or meaningful customer care, the response became focused on denial and damage control. The hotel and insurance representatives relied heavily on internal reports stating no live activity was found AFTER my complaint, while overlooking the fact that the room had already required prior treatment. To this day, the most frustrating part is not just the incident itself -- it's how it was handled afterward. I understand hotels can occasionally face pest issues. What matters is how they respond when guests raise legitimate concerns. In this case, I left feeling dismissed rather than supported. I would strongly encourage future guests to thoroughly inspect their rooms and to document everything immediately if concerns arise.
