Cute resort front. Small room but very nice and functional. The beach is in very short walking distance.

The bed was unbelievable and SHOWER!!awesome!!The room is perfect size and clean for something that's right near the ocean ,you think it would have some kind of musty odor and it does not. Check out this view right outside my room which is amazing. I wish it wasn't off-season. They would have a place we could lay out and walk to the beach all day. I might start saving my pennies and stay a weekend next summer. I suggest this for anyone if you just want to spend the weekend in Rehobeth. Plus, rehobeth ave is like a 3 minute drive. Breakfast was great also. I love staying somewhere and being satisfied with stay and happy . It was the storm, so ignore the sand in the pool. It was close anyways. Really windy. I'm ready to just move here.

Its designer also deserves 5 stars! But that's not what will bring us back. From finding/shipping a lost ring (for another quest) to taking pride in the appearance of the motel, from sharing great ideas for food/drink/etc. He cares!!! He made our stay in the comfy beds, cool air conditioning, and hot shower unit that we had even that much better. You will love your stay at the Surf Shanty and you will remember Andre! There are so many seating options in the lobby that look as though they came out of a beach resort magazine. The hotel posts a daily board of local restaurant specials, and the hotel itself offers plenty of great extras, like wine and cheese every day from 5:00-6:00, and cookies and milk every evening at 8:00 in the lobby. Complimentary lobby coffee is available 24/7, so there are no coffee makers in the rooms. There's also a big game room with dozens of board games. They have an indoor pool and sauna, and an outdoor hot tub. Our hotel room was quite large, with a huge flatscreen TV, a work desk, a king-sized bed, a sofa, and a coffee table. The in-room Wi-Fi and the satellite TV worked great. The bath was on the smaller size, but it looked brand new. The shower had plenty of hot water and the only nitpick was maybe the pressure from the rainfall style shower head could have been a teense more forceful. We had a nice private balcony overlooking the street and their street level firepit and seating area. The overall location is great, just a very short walk to the boardwalk and beach and within hundreds of stores and restaurants. The daily breakfast was stellar -a bounty of pre-made omelets, Sausages, Baked pears, Cereals, Oatmeal (with mix- ins like nuts, chocolate, granola, seeds, coconut), Pastries, whole and cut fruit, yogurt, cottage cheese, hash browns, and ham slices. Our off-season rate was a little over $100 a night, quite a good deal for the hotel's luxury and services. Guest service was excellent at every encounter we had.

Here are the many things we loved: 1. nice clean room, comfy bed. met expectations 2. breakfast included (the items are not too exciting but there's enough food for a snack early morning to last us until brunch), free wine and cheese in the afternoon, cookies and milk at night 3. just 3 blocks from the beach sands. we didn't use it but saw a buggy that would drive people with the beach chairs to the beach. 4. guests can use their towels and beach chairs 5. there's a pool and hot tub (didn't use since we'd rather be at the beach for the short trip) 6. very courteous and helpful hotel staff I'm sure in the summer the same room would be at least $400-500 a night. It was great to come in October, weather was perfect and the rooms are much cheaper.

The hot tub isn't big but it's fine for a few people and great to have right next to the spa. The parking is free on the off season and once you're in, you can easily walk a few blocks to the beach or all around town. I hear they have a shuttle but we never needed them. The room is very big and we enjoyed the small balcony just as a feature. On a warm day you want to just enjoy snacks and a breeze I can imagine it is wonderful. We enjoyed the fireplace. The bathroom lights were a bit complicated but the tub was enormous and luxurious for a soak! The coffee nook with fridge was perfectly outfitted and great for storage. The room lights were a bit flickery but not a major issue. Paying for the higher adults only floor was WORTH IT! They keep the snacks area ready with basic chips and cookies and the cooler with sodas and water and refresh it all the time. The sitting room with its own fireplace is super cozy and you can play a card game or build legos being away from any hecticness. Plus afternoon cookies, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were not to be missed! Those were great to take as a dessert after dinner or relaxing in the room. I bet in the warmer months the outside terrace is great to enjoy for reading. The bar service was good, whether you wanted drinks or meals things came out decently in good time and well done. I think the prices are very reasonable. The area has so many great options but if you just want to stay in you'll be fine! The breakfast experience was fine- the omelet stations were good but really did take a long time. Maybe just a lack of experience. Good selection of everything and while the bakery station had a variety of scones and muffins, they weren't always fresh tasting and the fruit wasn't much a variety. They will sometimes fill up and you'll have to sit in the cold conference room rather than the cozy vestibule. So go early if you want all the best options and won't be rushed. I can imagine this place is always busy but in the off season months I absolutely recommend this to any couple or single who wants to get away- shops are still open, restaurants still active, and the beach is still refreshing!

We opted for the Garden Rooms out behind the breakfast dining rooms, where it was quiet and no children allowed. Made for a romantic few days in off season when most restaurants are open and happy when customers walk in, with or without reservations. Our king bed room was a bit tight, but it was clean and cozy with plenty of hot water for the shower and no neighbors on either side of us. Fair to say, we made most of the noise. The room was made up every morning of our three night stay which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was included and there was plenty of food to go around, and even an omelet station Friday through Sunday. Nice touch. The small bar and afternoon tea was just enough to be an alternative to having to go out multiple times to pick up a cocktail or evening snack. We enjoyed the 7:30 - 10:30 morning meal and their coffee station sat on the bar for our convenience. The only slip came when the ordered omelet didn't arrive within 20+ minutes and I had to cancel the order because we needed to head out. I had a full plate anyway. I can't speak to what Bellmoor is like in season, but we found it exactly what we needed to relax, hang out in the evening and use as a base of operations as we explored more of the Rehoboth-Lewes vicinity in winter. 5 mellow well deserved stars!

If you are a guest you get a free breakfast. The breakfast is nothing special by the way. There were eggs, sausages, cereal, bagels and oatmeal and a few other things. I participated in the free breakfast for my first day there and I was not impressed at all. It was the same when I stayed at another Hyatt place in another state. As we live in Ocean City, NJ and frequent the Hyatt Dewey quite often to visit family and friends, it truly feels like home to us when we are there. We will be there again on March 12 and will continue to frequent throughout the summer months, as we basically travel there throughout the year. The hotel has such a welcoming and warm feeling, and you never feel overwhelmed like some larger hotels can make you feel. It has a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere that makes every visit enjoyable. Every time we return, they are always smiling and genuinely happy to welcome us back. It immediately sets the tone for a great stay and makes us feel truly valued as guests. Their warmth, professionalism, and positive energy truly make a difference. They are always helpful, attentive, and eager to assist with anything we may need. They consistently help make sure we are comfortable, often helping us with our favorite rooms and making every visit seamless and enjoyable. It is clear they take great pride in what they do and in making guests feel welcomed and appreciated. The entire front desk team, both men and women, creates such a warm and inviting atmosphere. And as we all know, guests can sometimes be a little challenging, but they always handle everything with patience, grace, and a smile, ready to help in any way they can. You would never even know if they were having a difficult day themselves, because their kindness and professionalism never waver. We also experienced something that truly showed the level of care and professionalism of the staff. A piece of jewelry was misplaced that had been given to my dear friend by her father before he passed away, so it holds tremendous sentimental value. The manager personally took the time to help search for it, moving furniture and looking everywhere possible to try to help us find it. To us, that is truly going above and beyond the call of duty, and it meant so much that he cared enough to help in that way. Thank you, Lindsay and Mia, and the entire front desk team, for your exceptional hospitality, professionalism, and the kindness that greets us each time we arrive. You truly make every stay feel special and appreciated. Dawn Ranieri and John Ziemba
