Never have I ever thought I'd be reviewing a place with the word "motel" in the name, but here we are! We decided last minute to spend a night in Rehoboth. It was fourth of July weekend so all the airbnbs and typical hotels were booked up or too expensive. As a last ditch effort, we found Anchorage and booked it. I'm pretty bougie when it comes to hotels. One could even say I am high maintenance. I was a little skeptical of Anchorage but based on the reviews, I figured I could tough it out for a night. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly front desk staff. The parking lot had ample free parking - major bonus. The room itself definitely wouldn't be featured on HGTV but, despite being outdated, it was very clean. It even had a fridge and a microwave - something a lot of these higher end hotels don't even give you nowadays. The beds were a little hard but nothing I couldn't withstand for a night. The motel was quiet and clean and the staff were nothing but friendly. If you're planning a quick trip to Rehoboth and you're in a pinch, I'd recommend Anchorage. It might surprise you! read more

Clean but spartan. Three different segments of the motel based on your preference - one-story "cottages" where you can park in front of your door, a two-story traditional motel with doors facing a common walkway or balcony, and an enclosed hotel portion with interior hallways (albeit with no elevator, so keep that in mind if you have a mobility impairment or a heavy suitcase). Soaps and shampoos are provided, but if you need conditioner or less astringent products, be prepared to bring your own from home. Plenty of counter space in the bathroom and lots of storage space in the room. The rooms were relatively spacious, compared to some of the newer hotels and motels. Rooms in the "hotel" section featured a flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, and microwave. Be prepared to bring an extension cord if you need to charge devices by your bedside, and an alarm clock if you need to see what time it is in the middle of the night because I couldn't find one in my room. Even though a clock might not be provided, the staff will provide an old-fashioned wake-up call -- just don't call them in the middle of the night as the front desk may not be manned after midnight! read more

Pillows not great & only have double bed options, but clean. Have options for rollaway bed as well that is fine. Free cable, but not a lot of channel options. Bathroom is kinda small but appreciated they they had enough towels already in the bathroom for our number of guests (5). 5 stars considering it's a motel, but not as high quality as a hotel. Staff seems good as well - if you're looking for a motel in Rehobeth and you can book a room here, I would recommend. read more

1. I have documented ESA (Emotional Support Animal) with all the proper documentation/certificates/letters. 2. Hotel clerk allowed it. 3 Upon checking out of hotel 2 days later, the older lady clerk gave me all sorts of attitude, tone and awful facial expressions, telling me I wasn't allowed in with an ESA. 4. Americans with Disabilities Act totally disagrees with her but she wanted to be nasty to me for her own reasons, holding me responsible for anything she could. 5. I did nothing wrong but she came at me with great hostility. 6. The hotel gave me a room that had ejaculation stains on the sheets and mattress cover. 7. The hotel gave me a room with dried blood stains on the sheets. 8. I helped the service lady come in and change all the bed linens. When can I expect my payroll check and am I invited to the Christmas party? 9. I would reconsider going to this hotel if I were you. read more

Great price!!! Clean, close to beach, nice staff, and safe. Ample, well-lighted parking. Lots of restaurants/stores w/in 1 mile driving. Recently renovated! It is a little small, but we'll worth the price. Cute and clean little hotel. Next time I'm in Rehoboth, I'll be staying here. read more

Very bare bones motel that in my opinion is not worth spending anything over $100 a night to stay at. It should merely be looked at as a place to lay your head while visiting Rehoboth Beach, as the boardwalk is about a 10 minute drive away. With that being said, the front desk was super friendly and welcoming and I appreciated that, and our room was clean. read more

This was a great option on a budget! Last minute reservation for a room with two doubles was only $129, tax inclusive. Walls were a bit thin, (could hear someone's music through the wall, and it sounded like it was only coming through a smartphone speaker), but that was my only complaint. The location was perfect, less than 10 minutes drive to the beach. The shower was great and the bathroom was very spacious (we appeared to be in a handicap accessible room). The whole room was very clean upon arrival. I expected the motel to be a bit dingy, maybe my perception of motels in the past hasn't been the best. However, it was actually quite comfy. The decor was nothing fancy, but everything definitely was functional and comfortable. I would stay here each again! read more

A solid property located right in the heart of commercial Rehoboth. The property isn't luxurious, but it's clean, in good repair, and a very reasonable price. The staff are polite and communicative. We reserved a room intending to use it for only several hours to rest. Our arrival at 0300 meant that the front office would be closed. The staff ensured that our key was ready, and they provided very clear instructions on how to find and access our room. While there is no pool, exercise room, or breakfast (they never advertised there were such amenities), there are ice and beverage machines. The beach, wildlife refuge, and stores are all close by and easy to access assuming you have a personal vehicle. Overall, a great value! read more

The smell of nicotine when you walked into the stuffy room was overwhelming. Whatever they use to cover it up just makes the smell worse, if that is possible. The bed had a thin blanket between two sheets that was so short, it didn't even come up to your shoulders. There was no coffee in the room. The tv didn't even offer a single movie channel. The windows and screens were very dirty so it was depressing to look out the window. On the positive side, the room looked recently renovated and appeared to be clean except for the horrible odor. read more

Great location. The staff from the front office to the housekeeping staff everyone is always friendly, helpful and welcoming. We have stayed here multiple times and it's the only place we will stay when we come into town. read more

This place was truly a safe comfortable place to stay. From the amazing staff to the comfy beds, not to mention easy access to the highway, I would recommend the Anchorage, whether you're staying for a night, or looking for a home away from home. There's nothing bad to say about this motel. Right on Route 1 about 15 minutes to the Rehobeth beach boardwalk and a 5 minute walk to a WaWa. The place is well kept on the outside; inside the room was clean, air conditioning worked fine and there was even a small window facing the "back yard" of the building which I thought was kind of unique. The staff was very friendly and check-in / check out took no time. We stayed one night in July and the cost was under $160. I would have no problem recommending this motel and would stay here again. read more

Friendly front desk staff, spacious and clean rooms, and very quiet. This place seems like a diamond in the rough and I'm glad we found it! It seems relatively recently remodeled and freshened up. I give it a four for three relatively small reasons: The fan in the bathroom doesn't work The air unit in the room worked, but the fan wasn't quite fast enough And it looked like a cigarette burn in the comforter None of these items will deter me I'm staying here again. read more

My husband and I needed an affordable hotel for the night while traveling through the area. I did some research and Anchorage Motel seems liked the cleanest, most affordable option - which turned out to be right. It was easy to check in. The staff was helpful and the room was clean and cozy. We had no complaints, except for maybe the thin walls. The woman in the room next to us was make very good use of the bed in the morning, if you know what I'm saying. Ha! Whatever, I was on vacation with my husband so we understand that's what a hotel is good for. Would recommend this place and stay here again if we were driving through. read more

I chose anchorage over other hotels and motels in the area because they don't have a minimum stay requirement. Ideally I wanted to stay closer to the beach and the boardwalk, but every reasonably priced place I tried to get a reservation for required a minimum two night stay (I only wanted to stay Saturday night). This was true even for the Holiday Inn Express just down the highway. Thus, I ended up here. This place is really a no frills place but it gets the job done. The room looked clean and was actually more spacious than I thought it was going to be. The woman at the front desk seemed very friendly. Remember to bring your own shampoo as its not provided here. Overall, I would come here again on my next visit to Rehoboth. read more

The positives: 1 Inexpensive 2 Close access to Rehoboth beach and outlets! 3 Clean!! 4 Nice staff! The negatives: 1. Paper thin walls -but when we complained about the party next door to the office staff they called the room ASAP and the noise stopped. But when a person coughs next door you hear them. Also as people walk around on the second floor you hear them. 2 Only 2 small pillows on each double bed. 3. Thin cheap towels and small bath towels. read more

I'm looking at the other reviews which are several years old. We stayed here Sept. 2012. Place looks completely remodeled. From new asphalt in the parking lot, new exterior facade, and all recently remodeled public areas and rooms. Looks like they did a complete gut job. The hotel is clean and reasonably priced. They were willing to do one night for us on the Labor Day weekend when other areas had 2 or 3 day minimums This is a very basic hotel - one hair dryer for the entire place - someone got it before us but then the front desk called and found one for us plus brought it up too our room! The Ritz Carlton it is not but for what it is and the price I would stay here again without hesitation. read more

Our family of three needed a last minute place to stay close to Sports at the Beach Baseball Fields. The motel was about 15 minutes away with mild traffic and was easily accessible to many places to eat and outlet shops. The rooms were more spacious than we expected. The decor was not modern, faux beach, and neutral. It was very clean but the temperature was not easily regulated so at night it was difficult to sleep, the room got very warm. The beds were not comfortable and neither were the pillows. Thankfully I brought my own pillow and blanket and you should too. Bathrooms were large and clean as well, small towels were provided and had some stains on them. I did bring my own so I wasn't worried about the towels but did notice the stains. There is not a pool at this facility or a place to do laundry which could have come in handy to wash the uniforms. Overall for the price it wasn't a bad deal. read more

A "Best Kept Secret" on US 1! A short drive to the Beach or Outlet stores! We had breakfast in a great Panerra's next store. Our room was super clean and neat and well-maintained - it seemed like new. Surprisingly quiet for sleeping too. We found no bugs and no musty smells. What a great value! So a friend of mine stated here in the off season and it's a bare-bones motel. It was clean. The beds were comfy. There was free WiFI but that was about it. There was no closet. No luggage rack and the shower pressure sucked. We got only two towels and don't expect any "extras" like a hair dryer or anything like that. Toiletries are from the 70s...I literally think it was Breck shampoo. However, it's literally a 15-minute drive from downtown Rehoboth and right across the street from the Outkets do location-wise it's worth the savings. read more

As the other reviews have said - this place isn't fancy. But it's almost $100/night cheaper than all the other hotels around. There's no extra shampoo in your room but I don't need to pay an extra $100/night for shampoo in my room. It was clean and quiet and perfect for the weekend that I stayed. The double beds don't fit two adult human beings. And you should be prepared for the office to close at night and not open until 8:00 am. There's a Starbucks across the street because they won't be serving you coffee at the anchorage before 8:00. But because I am on a budget, I don't really care about these "drawbacks." Stay here. Your wallet will be happy. read more

When my job booked this motel for me for a work conference, I was a little worried. The website doesn't make it look great and it's a motel in the middle of strip malls, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But I was pleasantly surprised. It's a newer building that's well-maintained. It doesn't have too many frills, but the room was spacious and clean. There's plenty of parking and it's only about 10 minutes to the beach. Great stay especially for the price. Rooms are clean but not any amenities. Bring your own shampoo( but who doesn't bring thier own anyway). Convenient location to Rehoboth and Lewes. Lots of great shopping around. Will definitely stay there again on future trips. Only downside was no pool. read more

Updated outside, but the room had a horrible musty, moldy smell to it. We opened the windows to help with the smell and they were filled with gnats - pretty gross! The towel rack was broken off in the bathroom - only 2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths - no hand towels. Very strange to not be able to wash your hands and dry them without using the others, but it also didn't have a toilet seat lid - so, don't drop anything! No amenities, so make sure you pack everything you need. We ended up buying towels, blankets, and air freshener. The room looked questionable with bed bugs, but I think we woke up safe with no bites. Not sure it was worth $85, but the only place available. read more

Looking at the outside, you would think you are staying at a newer hotel. The outside looks great, the inside not as much. The rooms are very outdated, and lacking amenities. There was 1 shampooing conditioner, 2 washcloths, and 2 paper thin towels. We were charged extra per night for a third person, which would make sense if there were any resort amenities or breakfast- there wasn't. No pool, no media room, etc. If a hotel feels they should be charging more, that should be built into their price. You could hear anything happening in the rooms next to/under you're room, from vacuuming to conversations, and more. However, the 2 stars are solely based on location. Right across from the outlets, Starbucks and only a few minutes from the beach. read more

Front desk only sporadically answers the phone. We tried calling at night because an alarm was going off somewhere (a little beep beep) literally all night long which definitely tainted our experience. The room smelled strongly of air freshener so if you're sensitive to that, don't stay here. However, the room itself was spacious, clean and well kept. The check out time is 11 which is an hour earlier than most places. Also, they only provide soap, no shampoo or conditioner as most do. And no breakfast provided. For what we paid, I didn't expect much, but the biggest issue for me was the lack of response to our calls at night so that the beeping would cease. I would not recommend this place unless you are desperate. Pay an additional $10 and pay for a place that actually answers the phone when you call. read more
